    Caring for a sick child is one of the biggest challenges for parents, because they have to deal with the physical, medical and emotional needs of a child that often cannot be controlled when sick. Moreover, the incidence of sick children occurs during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this Covid-19 pandemic, parents are required to be able to take care of sick children at home. This is done to avoid the child being exposed to the virus if taken to the hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior analysis of parents in caring for sick children at home during the pandemic in Riau Province. The behavior of mothers in caring for sick children at home in this study was divided into 3 parts, namely knowledge, attitudes and actions. This study uses a descriptive statistical research design. The sample in this research is mothers who have children in Marpoyan Damai District, totaling 175 people. The results of this study are sufficient knowledge about caring for sick children at home, as many as 49.4% of mothers, positive attitudes in caring for sick children at home, which is 52.9% of mothers. And 67,2% mothers' actions in caring for sick children at home are not good. It is hoped that from the results of this study, parents (mothers) can provide good actions in caring for sick children during the pandemic. Health workers are also expected to be more aggressive in providing information that can increase knowledge, so that attitudes and actions are also getting better

    PENGARUH METODE STORYTELLING DENGAN MEDIA BONEKA TANGAN TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN KONSUMSI SAYUR ANAK USIA PRASEKOLAH

    Children's interest in consuming vegetables is still very low and refuses to consume vegetables. Consuming fibrous foods is very good because it can help expedite the digestive process in the body. This can be caused by a lack of ideas to tell, a lack of vocabulary to express ideas, a lack of opportunities to speak, and a lack of interesting teaching methods that can motivate them. Storytelling is a method that is appropriate to cognitive roles and is effective for preschool-aged children. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the media storytelling method on knowledge of vegetable consumption in preschool-aged children. This study used a quantitative research method using a quasi-experimental design with the one group pre-posttest model. The respondents of this study were pre-school age children at Munzhirah Kindergarten, Pekanbaru City. The dependent variable in this study is the knowledge of school-age children about vegetable consumption. Sampling is based on the normal distribution with the central limit theorem, amounting to 30 respondents. Data analysis in this study used the paired sample T test. The results showed that a p-value of 0.000 < an alpha value of 0.005 meant that there was an effect of the storytelling method on knowledge of vegetable consumption in pre-school-age children. It is hoped that from the results of this research early childhood education institutions can conduct health education about vegetable consumption in pre-school age children through various interesting methods, such as the storytelling method using hand puppets or other playing methods, so that children can understand and be motivated to consuming vegetables.Kesukaan anak dalam mengomsumsi sayur masih sangat rendah dan menolak untuk mengomsumsi sayur. Mengkonsumsi makanan berserat sangat baik karena dapat membantu memperlancar proses pencernaan didalam tubuh, Hal ini dapat disebabkan kurangnya ide untuk diceritakan, kurangnya kosakata untuk mengungkapkan ide, kurangnya kesempatan untuk berbicara, dan kurangnya metode pengajaran yang menarik yang dapat memotivasi mereka. Storytelling merupakan metode yang sesuai dengan peranan kognitif dan efektif bagi anak usia prasekolah.   Tujuan penelitian ini adalah adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode media storytelling terhadap pengetahuan komsumsi sayur pada anak usia prasekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan desain Quasi Eksperiment dengan model  one group pre-posttest. Responden penelitian ini adalah anak usia pra sekolah di TK Munzhirah Kota Pekanbaru. Yang menjadi varibel dependent dalam penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan anak usia para sekolah tentang konsumsi dayur. Pengambilan sampel berdasarkan distribusi normal dengan central limit theorem yang berjumlah 30 orang responden. Analisa data penelitian ini menggunakan uji paired sample T test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan didapatkan p-value 0,000 < nilai alpha 0,005 hal ini berarti ada pengaruh metode storytelling terhadap pengetahuan konsumsi sayur pada anak usia pra sekolah. Diharapkan dari hasil penelitian ini kepada institusi pendidikan anak usia dini, dapat melakukan pendidikan kesehatan tentang konsumsi sayur pada anak usia pra sekolah melalui berbagai metode menarik, seperti metode storytelling dengan menggunakan boneka tangan ataupun metode bermain lainnya, agar anak-anak dapat memahami dan termotivasi untuk mengkonsumsi sayuran

    The Effectiveness of Patient Safety Cultural Training with Mirror Method and Case Study on Nurse Understanding About Application of Patient Safety at Hospital Pekanbaru

    Quality development in hospitals has led to efforts to improve quality oriented towards patient safety. The purpose of this study was to compare what methods were most effective between lectures and case studies to improve nurses' understanding of the application of patient safety. The design of the research used is a mix method that is qualitative and quantitative. This research was carried out at Hospital in Pekanbaru with a sample of the study were all nurses who served at the hospital as many as 60 people. The results obtained from the study showed that the mean value of nurses 'understanding of patient safety habit after the lecture method training was 67.47 with a standard deviation of 8.320 while the mean value of nurses' understanding of the HABIT of patient safety after training in the case study method was 73.97 with a standard deviation of 6.835. The independent t test results obtained p value = 0.002. The results of this study are expected in addition to improving the understanding of nurses as well as the hospital can apply the most appropriate method so that the goals of the patient's safety goals are the quality of service can be achieved

    ABSTRACT   Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that requires self-management education to prevent acute complications and reduce the risk of long-term complications. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) can be used as an effective method in improving self-care of patient with diabetes mellitus when discharged from the hospital. In the implementation of education in patients, many methods can be done. The lecturing method is one of the most commonly used methods in conducting health education, one of which is to used a booklet. Another method can be used is to use the whatsapp group application. The purpose of this study was to find out the differences between DSME method by using booklet and social media method on care behavior of diabetes mellitus patients. The research design of this study was quantitative by using quasy-experiment approach with two groups pretest-posttest. Sample in this research are diabetes patient in the outpatient room, the collecting sample was used concecutive sampling with 30 people divided into 2 groups. The analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The independent t-test result were obtained p value = 0.001 is smaller than alpha value (p < 0.05) with different mean, namely -15,33. It can be concluded that diabetes self management education by using social media (whatsapp group) was more inluential in improving self care behavior than diabetes self management education by using lecturing method with booklet. From the results of this study, it is expected that hospitals can educate DM patients by following the DSME principle with the WhatsApp group method. Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) dapat digunakan sebagai metode yang efektif dalam meningkatkan perawatan mandiri pasien dengan Diabetis Mellitus saat keluar dari RS. Dalam pelaksanaan edukasi pada pasien banyak metode yang bisa dilakukan. Metode ceramah adalah metode yang paling sering  digunakan, salah satunya adalah dengan menggunakan booklet. Metode lain yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan aplikasi group WhatsApp. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbandingan  DSME metode ceramah menggunakan booklet dengan metode group WhatsApp terhadap  self  care behavior pasien DM. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan Quasy eksperiment dengan desain two group pretest-posttest.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien DM yang diarawat jalan di RS PMC dengan jumlah 30 orang, menggunakan tekhnik consecutive sampling yang dibagi 2 kelompok. Analisa yang digunakan adalah analisa univariat dan bivariat dengan menggunakan  uji paired sample t-test dan independent sample t test.  Hasil uji t independent didapatkan p value = 0.001 lebih kecil dari nilai alpha (p < 0.05) dengan mean difference, yaitu -15,33. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa diabetes self management education dengan metode whatsApp group)  lebih berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan self care behavior dibandingkan diabetes self management education dengan metode ceramah menggunakan booklet.     ABSTRACT The hospital as a provider of health services in the form of maintaining and improving health and aims to achieve optimal health status for the community. One indicator of the quality of nursing services is whether the nursing services provided are satisfying the patient or not. One of the roles performed by nurses is to carry out health education in discharge planning for patients in the inpatient room. Health education is very important to be carried out by a nurse. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to the implementation of health education by nurses in the Inpatient at PMC Hospital. The research design used is a quantitative method with analytic cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted at Pekanbaru Medical Center Hospital with a sample of 35 nurses on duty at the hospital according to inclusion criteria. From the results of the study found factors related to the implementation of health education by nurses in the inpatient room of the PMC Hospital : Length of Work (p value 0.010), Training attended (p value = 0,000) and Level of Knowledge (p value = 0.002). This means that factors related to the implementation of health education by nurses must be maintained and considered by management to improve the implementation of health education by nurses so that the quality of service and satisfaction can be improved

    Sejak awal kehidupan, anak-anak bergantung kepada orang tuanya untuk melindungi dan memenuhi kebutuhan mereka. Setiap orang tua memiliki tugas untuk merawat anak mereka. Banyak penyakit yang menyerang anak-anak, namun penyakit yang sering dialami anak-anak antara lain diare, demam dan ISPA. Banyak orang tua ragu untuk membawa anak ke rumah sakit pada masa pandemi covid 19 ini, dan melakukan perawatan anak sakit dirumah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat lebih dalam, apa saja  cara yang orang tua lakukan dalam merawat anak sakit dirumah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, penentuan informan dipilih secara purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode triangulasi data, dengan metode analisis data yaitu teknik analisis Interaktif Kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan setiap ibu memiliki cara unik untuk melakukan perawatan anaknya yang sakit dirumah, namun hal-hal yang telah orang tua lakukan ini hampir rata-rata merupakan hal yang benar dan tepat dilakukan untuk merawat anak sakit dirumah. . Diharapkan dari hasil penelitian ini orang tua  dapat memberikan tindakan yang baik dalam merawat anak sakit pada masa pandemi. Tenaga kesehatan juga diharapkan semakin gencar dalam memberikan informasi-informasi yang dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan sehingga sikap dan tindakan orang tua dalam peraawatan  anak sakit dirumah juga semakin baik
