Jesus Christ liberator and pedagogy of the oppressed the common paths of Leonardo Boff and Paulo Freire
Abstract. This thesis is a comparative discourse analysis on the books Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire and the Jesus Christ liberator by Leonardo Boff. This thesis looks into the contextual circumstances of these two Brazilian authors to find out: (1) the common aspects in their discourse; (2) the common language used, and (3) their significance and relevant contributions — having in perspective the Latin American realities, as well as today’s mainstream discourses in the times of globalization.
This thesis explores the dialogic relationship between the pedagogy of the oppressed and liberation theology — education and theology respectively — and the way they deal with issues such as poverty, oppression, authoritarianism, and all kinds of practices that do not foster and enhance emancipation, liberation, equality and the democratic participation of human beings
Intake and Digestibility of Nutrients of Corn and \u3cem\u3eStylosanthes\u3c/em\u3e Silages in Diets for Sheep
The low concentration of water soluble carbohydrates, the high buffering capacity and the low autochthonous population of lactic acid bacteria are limiting factors to legume ensiling. However, recent research with tropical legumes has shown that the silages presented an adequate fermentation profile (Liu et al. 2012; Silva et al. 2012; Pereira et al. 2012). Nevertheless, there are few studies on the use of stylosanthes silages cv. Campo Grande (Stylosanthes capitata + Stylosantes macrocephala) for sheep feeding. The objective of this study was to evaluate the intake and digestibility of nutrients of stylosanthes and corn silages in sheep diets

Voltammetric determination of sibutramine in beverages and in pharmaceutical formulations
A simple and sensitive method has been proposed for the determination of sibutramine-HCl in energy drinks, green tea and pharmaceutical formulations using differential pulse voltammetry performed on a hanging mercury drop electrode. In the chosen experimental condition (Mcllvaine pH 4.0 buffer, 50 mV pulse amplitude and 40 mV s-1 scan velocity), sibutramine-HCl presented a reversible behavior and a peak maximum at -80 mV. Detection limit was 0.4 mg L-1 and the working linear range extended up to 33.3 mg L-1 (r = 0.99). Analysis of real and fortified samples enabled recoveries between 91 and 102%. The electroanalytical method was compared with a HPLC method which indicated it accuracy
DESiRED -- Dynamic, Enhanced, and Smart iRED: A P4-AQM with Deep Reinforcement Learning and In-band Network Telemetry
Active Queue Management (AQM) is a mechanism employed to alleviate transient
congestion in network device buffers, such as routers and switches. Traditional
AQM algorithms use fixed thresholds, like target delay or queue occupancy, to
compute random packet drop probabilities. A very small target delay can
increase packet losses and reduce link utilization, while a large target delay
may increase queueing delays while lowering drop probability. Due to dynamic
network traffic characteristics, where traffic fluctuations can lead to
significant queue variations, maintaining a fixed threshold AQM may not suit
all applications. Consequently, we explore the question: \textit{What is the
ideal threshold (target delay) for AQMs?} In this work, we introduce DESiRED
(Dynamic, Enhanced, and Smart iRED), a P4-based AQM that leverages precise
network feedback from In-band Network Telemetry (INT) to feed a Deep
Reinforcement Learning (DRL) model. This model dynamically adjusts the target
delay based on rewards that maximize application Quality of Service (QoS). We
evaluate DESiRED in a realistic P4-based test environment running an MPEG-DASH
service. Our findings demonstrate up to a 90x reduction in video stall and a
42x increase in high-resolution video playback quality when the target delay is
adjusted dynamically by DESiRED.Comment: Preprint (Computer Networks under review
