GALA-n: Generic Architecture of Layout-Aware n-Bit Quantum Operators for Cost-Effective Realization on IBM Quantum Computers

A generic architecture of n-bit quantum operators is proposed for cost-effective transpilation, based on the layouts and the number of n neighbor physical qubits for IBM quantum computers, where n >= 3. This proposed architecture is termed "GALA-n quantum operator". The GALA-n quantum operator is designed using the visual approach of the Bloch sphere, from the visual representations of the rotational quantum operations for IBM native gates (square root of X, X, RZ, and CNOT). In this paper, we also proposed a new formula for the quantum cost, which calculates the total numbers of native gates, SWAP gates, and the depth of the final transpiled quantum circuits. This formula is termed the "transpilation quantum cost". After transpilation, our proposed GALA-n quantum operator always has a lower transpilation quantum cost than that of conventional n-bit quantum operators, which are mainly constructed from costly n-bit Toffoli gates.Comment: 27 pages, 22 figure

Purpose: To test the effect of menthol extract on the oral hygiene status of dental students of Faculty of Dentistry, Al- Mustansiriya University, Baghdad, Iraq. Methods: A solution (18 mg %) of menthol was prepared by dissolving menthol crystals in absolute ethanol. Chlorhexidine (CHX, 0.2 %) and deionized water were used as positive and negative controls, respectively. Menthol was examined for its toxic effect. Twenty male albino mice were injected intraperitoneally with a low (10 mg/ml) and high dose (50 mg/ml) of the menthol solution, and acute toxicity (LD50) calculated. A double-blind crossover was designed to test plaque re-growth over 5 days. Thirty male dental student volunteers were asked to cease tooth cleaning and then rinse with 10 ml of menthol solution three times daily for 1.5 min, twice daily with CHX and deionized water. Plaque, gingival and bleeding scores were recorded on days 0 and 5. A washout period of 2 weeks was allowed, and then a new test was initiated. The data obtained were analysed statistically. Results: Menthol mouthwash demonstrates a significant reduction in plaque, gingival and bleeding indices of 0.56, 0.45 and 0.03, respectively. CHX induced a greater reduction in these parameters than menthol with indices of 0.14, 0.26, and 0.04, respectively. Conclusion: Menthol mouth rinse (0.018 %) is an antiplaque and anti-gingivitis agent, though less effective than CHX.Keywords: Menthol mouth rinse, Chlorhexidine, Dental plaque, Gingivitis, Oral hygien

The current investigation considers sustainable energy utilization in architecture as novel via future visions for such concept development of. Simulations of ANSYS as software were utilized for a real design of mosque situated in the north of Iraq as study case. Thus, the mosque buildings selection in city of Sulaimaniyah in Iraq as model of application for the clean energy technologies utilize through selecting the building internal space and tests conducting utilizing energy as solar and reviewing its influence on energy providing required via the building and minimizing the waste in consumption of electrical energy which relies on resources as fossil. The current investigation assuming that the novel constructed foundations of mosque can be enclosed with pipes grid equally distributed through the design. Such pipes are able to be filled in winter with hot water as a replacement for utilizing heaters that consume and cost a large electricity amount. Besides, it displays the achievability of utilizing green energy as unit of heating, particularly if it can cover the installation capital cost in only one year due to the high bills of electricity in Iraq and the capability to preserve energy as solar

This is done, in order to feed different DC or AC loads in single and three-phase power system by using passive or active filters and accordingly, develop a new topology of hybrid active power filter (HAPF). In addition, this circuit can be considered as a power factor corrector (PFC) because it reduces the total harmonic distortion (THD) and improves the power factor (PF). Secondly, this thesis works on a new design of active power factor correction (APFC) circuit presenting two circuits with the same design principle: the first design consists of two active switches without an external complex control circuit, while the second design contains a single active switch with an additional control circuit. The main contribution of this circuit is 98% reduction of the inductor's value used in the newly proposed PFC circuit in comparison with the conventional boost converter which may lead to a huge reduction in size, weight and the cost of the new PFC circuit. Also, the active switches depend on a carefully designed switching pattern that results in an elimination of the third order harmonic from the input source current which decreases the value of total current harmonic distortion (THDI) to (14%) and improves the input PF to (0.99). Consequently, the simplicity of the design without requiring a complex control circuit and without a snubber circuit plus the minimum size of inductor, gives the newly proposed circuit the superiority on other PFC circuits. Thirdly, this research aims to describe the distortion power through submitting two novel power terms called effective active power (Pef ) & reactive power (Qef ) terms with a new power diagram called Right-Angled Power Triangle (RAPT) Diagram. In addition, a novel de nition of total apparent power (St) has been submitted in order to illustrate the physical meaning of (St) in non-sinusoidal systems. The new RAPT Diagram is based on the orthogonality law and depends on geometrical summation to describe the relationship between different aspects (apparent-active-reactive) of power, and different components (total-fundamental distortion), drawing a bridge to connect the time domain with the frequency domain in a two-dimensional diagram. The Higher Committee For Education Development in Ira
