From basic perception deficits to facial affect recognition impairments in schizophrenia

While impaired facial emotion recognition and magnocellular deficits in visual perception are core features of schizophrenia, their relationship is still unclear. Our aim was to analyze the oscillatory background of these processes and to investigate the connection between the magnocellular pathway deficit and the abnormal facial affect processing. Thirty-nine subjects with schizophrenia and forty socially matched healthy controls subjects were enrolled. A 128 channel EEG was recorded in three experimental tasks: first, participants viewed magnocellular biased low-spatial frequency (LSF) and parvocellular biased high-spatial frequency (HSF) Gabor-patches, then faces and houses were presented and in the third task a facial affect recognition task was presented with happy, sad and neutral faces. Event-related theta (4-7 Hz) synchronization (ERS) (i.e. an increase in theta power) by magnocellular biased stimuli was decreased in patients relative to controls, while no similar differences were found between groups in the parvocellular biased condition. ERS was significantly lower in patients compared to healthy controls both in the face and in the emotion recognition task. Theta ERS to magnocellular biased stimuli, but not to parvocellular biased stimuli, were correlated with emotion recognition performance. These findings indicate a bottom up disruption of face perception and emotion recognition in schizophrenia

Food contributes to our livelihoods and is present in our daily lives. They weave through everyday life, holidays and various notable events. We consume food for pleasure, for reward, but they can also express our personality. In the twentieth century, many new food consumption trends emerged. Nowadays, social media provides a wealth of information related to a number of food trends that affect our food choice preferences. In our literature review, our primary goal is to present which social and psychological external factors have an impact on consumers when purchasing food through secondary data collection using hungarian and international literature. We explore the underlying psychological causes of Vebleni's ostentatious consumption and analyze the emotions related to food, the consumer's attachment to food brands, and the characterization of brand love.  Az élelmiszerek hozzájárulnak a létfenntartásunkhoz, jelen vannak mindennapjainkban. Átszövik a hétköznapokat, az ünnepeket és a különböző jeles eseményeket. Ételeket fogyasztunk örömszerzés céljából, jutalmazás céljából, azonban általuk kifejezhetjük a személyiségünk is.A XXI. században számos új élelmiszer-fogyasztási trend jelent meg. Napjainkban a közösségi média által rengeteg információhoz juthatunk számos élelmiszer trendekhez kapcsolódóan, melyek befolyásolják élelmiszer választási preferenciáinkat.Jelen szakirodalmi összefoglalónkban elsődleges célunk, hogy bemutassuk az élelmiszerek vásárlásai során a fogyasztókra mely társadalmi és pszichológiai külső tényezők gyakorolnak hatásokat élelmiszer-választásaik során szekunder adatgyűjtés segítségével, hazai és nemzetközi szakirodalmak felhasználásával.Feltárjuk a Vebleni hivalkodó fogyasztás mögöttes pszichológiai okait és kitérünk az élelmiszerekkel kapcsolatos érzelmek elemzésére, az élelmiszermárkákhoz való fogyasztói kötődésre, a márka szeretet jellemzésére is egyaránt

The impact of the crisis and recovery on HR and knowledge management in focus - a Hungarian-Slovakian comparison 2009

The world slowly begins to recover from the economic crisis. According to the forecast of the most recent Davos World Economic Forum (2011), the entire world economy can anticipate a 6.5%, while the developed world - including the transition countries - an approximately 2.5-3%GDP growth. It was not easy to get to this point. Since October 2008, the actors of the world economy got many ` slaps in the face ` (ILO, 2009). Since October 2008, the global economy are very much ` clout ` for it lacks the good character and prudence (Palinkas, 2009). The crisis itself particularly affected to a large extent economies of Eastern Europe, choosen a neo-liberal way. (Csaba, 2009; Kiss, 2009 and Szelényi, 2009). Up to this day, we have a relatively small amount of specific data and few surveys (Bóday, 2009) on how the different companies and institutions survived the crisis from a HR and knowledge management point of view, what methods they used to mitigate the effects of the crisis. In the present study, we give a summary of our relevant observations gained from an empirical survey we conducted between October and December 2009 among Hungarian and Slovakian companies

Antimicrobial susceptibility of Bacillus anthracis strains from Hungary

The susceptibility of 29 Bacillus anthracis strains, collected in Hungary between 1933 and 2014, was tested to 10 antibiotics with commercially available minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) test strips. All strains were susceptible to amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, clindamycin, doxycycline, gentamicin, penicillin, rifampicin, and vancomycin. Intermediate susceptibility to erythromycin and cefotaxime was detected in 17.2% (5/29) and 58.6% (17/29) of the strains, respectively. Correlations were not observed between the isolation date, location, host species, genotype, and antibiotic susceptibility profile of strains

The radiotherapy expert panel revised and updated the radiotherapy (RT) guidelines accepted in 2009 at the 2nd Hungarian Breast Cancer Consensus Conference based on new scientific evidence. Radiotherapy of the conserved breast is indicated in ductal carcinoma in situ (St. 0), as RT decreases the risk of local recurrence by 60%. In early stage (St. I-II) invasive breast cancer RT remains a standard treatment following breast conserving surgery. However, in elderly (>/=70 years) patients with stage I, hormone receptor positive tumour hormonal therapy without RT can be considered. Hypofractionated (15x2.67 Gy) whole breast irradiation and for selected cases accelerated partial breast irradiation are validated treatment alternatives of conventional (25x2 Gy) whole breast irradiation. Following mastectomy RT significantly decreases the risk of locoregional recurrence and improves overall survival of patients having 1 to 3 (pN1a) or >/=4 (pN2a, pN3a) positive axillary lymph nodes. In selected cases of patients with 1 to 2 positive sentinel lymph nodes axillary dissection can be omitted and substituted with axillary RT. After neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) followed by breast conserving surgery whole breast irradiation is mandatory, while after NAC followed by mastectomy locoregional RT should be given in cases of initial stage III-IV and ypN1 axillary status
