A globális szinttől a helyi szintig kidolgozott fejlesztési programoknak szerves része a fenntartható fejlődési célok megfogalmazása. A fenntartható fejlődés, fenntarthatóság értelmezése igen sokféle. A tanulmány első része a fogalomértelemzés néhány kérdését írja le. A második részben a fenntarthatóság fontos dimenziójának, az ökológiai rendszernek a gazdasági méréséről lesz szó. Több jeles gondolkodó (többnyire ökológus) elutasító álláspontját ismertetem. A cikk végén azonban környezetgazdászként amellett érvelek, hogy talán még is van értelme a gazdasági értékelésnek

Development possibilities of Central-European tourism industry

While the most important tourist sites in the US, e.g. the Time Square in NY, the Mall in Washington, the Disney World in Florida, or the main “destinations” of Western Europe, like Paris, London, etc. attract huge crowds of people, several other European areas are dissatisfied with the number of their visitors. Hereinafter, we are attempting to review the catching up possibilities of the Central-European tourism industry, since it extremely lags behind that of the Western-European countries. And finally, based on our statements, we are proposing a most intensive co-operation among the states concerned
