State of microcirculation and free-radical processes of periodontal tissues in smoking dependent patients with chronic generalized periodontitis associated with chronic hyperacid gastritis

The aim of the work was to determine the state of microcirculation and free radical processes of periodontal tissues in smoking dependent patients with chronic generalized periodontitis associated with chronic hyperacid gastritis. Materials and methods: We examined 90 patients (men and women) aged 25 to 44 years, who were divided into 3 groups: the first group - 48 smoking patients with chronic generalized periodontitis and chronic hyperacid gastritis associated with Helicobacter pylori; the second group - 22 patients with chronic generalized periodontitis and chronic hyperacid gastritis associated with Helicobacter pylori, without the bad habit; the third group - control, consisted of 20 healthy individuals. The smoking patients were randomly divided into two subgroups: patients of the first subgroup (G1.1) received the basic therapy of chronic generalized periodontitis and the proposed treatment and prevention complex; the patients in the second subgroup (G1.2) received basic therapy for chronic generalized periodontitis and ultraphonophoresis with placebo. Results: The use of treatment and prevention complex in smoking dependent patients and patients without the bad habit with chronic generalized periodontitis and chronic hyperacid gastritis associated with Helicobacter pylori demonstrated a positive dynamics of the functional characteristics of microcirculation and the balance in the lipid peroxidation – antioxidant system. Conclusions: So, the use of the proposed treatment and prevention complex had a positive effect on the state of microcirculation and free radical processes of periodontal tissues both at the near and long-term follow up, even under conditions of chronic hyperacid gastritis and the risk factor – smoking

ОБСЛЕДОВАНИЕ ГОРОДА КРАСНОКАМЕНСК НА СОДЕРЖАНИЕ РАДОНА В ПОМЕЩЕНИЯХ

Survey of dwellings and enterprises of the Krasnokamensk city on the indoor radon content were performed. The radon volume activity measurements were carried out by integral method with the help of track chambers. Chambers were exhibited in the heating and the warm periods of the year for the 3-4 months in the same premises. The values of equivalent equilibrium volume activity of radon and doses from radon were obtained. It is shown, that the situation with the radon irradiation of the population of Krasnokamensk city in general meets the requirements of the radiation safety standards. Seasonal relations of volume radon activity in the premises are presented.Проведено обследование жилых домов и учреждений города Краснокаменска на содержание радона в помещениях. Измерения объемной активности радона проводились интегральным методом с помощью трековых камер. Камеры экспонировали по 3–4 месяца в отопительный и теплый периоды года в одних и тех же помещениях. Получены значения эквивалентной равновесной объемной активности радона и доз от радона в помещениях. Показано, что ситуация с облучением населения г. Краснокаменска радоном в целом соответствует требованиям Норм радиационной безопасности. Представлены межсезонные отношения объемной активности радона в помещениях

Clinical and laboratory assessment of the effeciency of using a new hygienic action in the treatment of chronic generalized parodontitis in patients with hypercydin gastritis

At present, diseases of mucous membrane of the oral cavity (MMOC), periodontal disease remain an unresolved problem of dentistry, due to the multifactorial nature of their occurrence. The aim of the work is to increase the effectiveness of treatment of periodontal diseases, the mucous membrane of the oral cavity against a background of gastritis with an increased acid-forming function by applying pathogenetically grounded local therapy. Local application of a new apigel based on propolis and biologically active substances in the complex treatment of patients with chronic generalized periodontitis of the first degree against a background of hyperacid gastritis has a beneficial effect on the clinical symptoms of inflammation of the oral mucosa and periodontium. In comparison with patients in whom anti-inflammatory local therapy was performed using the traditional method with local use of dental gel based on chamomile flowers, patients whose treatment regimen included local apigel use noted improvement in oral dental status 5-7 days faster. The proposed method quickly removed inflammation, bleeding gums that correlated with the improvement of the hygienic state of the oral cavity. The results of the clinical and laboratory evaluation of the effectiveness of the use of the newly developed anti-inflammatory hygienic remedy for the treatment of periodontal disease in the context of heli bacterium in patients with hyperacid gastritis revealed a rapid normalization of indices of nonspecific and specific protection in the oral liquid than with conventional therapy. Under the influence of the developed local method of treatment for inflammatory diseases of MMOC and periodontal disease in patients with hyperacid gastritis, in particular, in tobacco-producing, optimal conditions are created for the elimination of violations of the immunological status of the oral cavity and the restoration of the structural and functional state of the periodontal and mucous membranes. The authors came to the conclusion that the local application of the proposed treatment method reduces the period of restoration of the structural and functional integrity of MMOC, improves the hygienic state of the cavity, promotes the rapid normalization of indices of nonspecific and specific protection in the oral fluid, preventing the development of inflammatory complications in tobacco-dependent, which increases the effectiveness of treatment and quality. the life of patients with conjunctival diseases of the digestive canal with an increased acid-forming function

Frequency and Risk Factors of Purulent Septic Infection among Adults after Different Types of an Open Heart Operations

Relevance. The problem of purulent postoperative septic infection (the hospital acquired infection or HAI) is still one of the main cause of fatal outcomes of patients in cardiac hospitals, which demands significant material costs. The aim of the work is to evaluate the intensity of the epidemic process and risk factors for HAI among adults after various types of open heart surgery.Materials and methods. The study of medical records of 1540 patients over 18 years old, who underwent open heart surgery for the purpose of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), prosthetics of valves and elimination of aortic defects, was held. Typical and donozological forms of HAI were taken into account in accordance with the epidemiological standard definition of cases.Results. The incidence rates of typical and donozological forms of HAI in average was 39.6 and 72.7 per 1000 operations. The maximum incidence of HAI was detected after aortic surgery due to urinary tract infection (UTI) and hospital-acquired pneumonia.Conclusions. It was found that the increased incidence of UTI and hospital-acquired pneumonia after aortic surgery is contingent on a longer cardiosurgical operations and, accordingly, a longer stay of patients in the Department of anesthesia and resuscitation, accompanied by artificial ventilation and catheterization of the bladder, than in other cardiac operation
