Bezpieczeństwo hydrologiczne w perspektywie Chińskiej Republiki Ludowej
Today’s China is the world’s biggest economy. Economy and population growth has impact on Chinese water resources. Pollution and water waste are decreasing the supply of clean water. Besides, there are areas like the southern and eastern regions of China that receive abundant rainfall while the northern and western regions receive much lower rainfall. Government must provide water for drinking purposes and for economy. This isn’t an easy task. Measures that solve one problem often create another one
The Optimal Sample Size in Crosswise Model for Sensitive Questions
The problem is in the estimation of the fraction of population with a
stigmatizing characteristic. In the paper the nonrandomized response model
proposed by Tian, Yu, Tang, and Geng (2007) is considered. The exact confidence
interval for this fraction is constructed. Also the optimal sample size for
obtaining the confidence interval of a given length is derived
SAMPLE ALLOCATION IN ESTIMATION OF PROPORTION IN A FINITE POPULATION DIVIDED AMONG TWO STRATA
The problem of estimating a proportion of objects with a particular attribute in a finite population is considered. The classical estimator is compared with the estimator, which uses the information that the population is divided among two strata. Theoretical results are illustrated with a numerical example
Elastic p-p cross-section and longitudinal motion of quarks
We show that quark longitudinal degrees of freedom are important for the shape of the elastic p–p cross-section calculated in the dressed quark model using Glauber multiple scattering expansion. We find also that in this model multiple scattering terms are greater than required by data
