Rehabilitation of the river’s role in historic urban landscape of Shushtar, Iran

Historical cities are the most complete and, indeed, the most tangible incarnation of culture. They show the relationships of different generations of inhabitants with their life context. The strata of their urban topography speak about various phases of evolution and transformation as well as growth or decline. The city of Shushtar (Khuzestan, Iran) is a perfect example of a historic city formed based on sustainable and close interactions between man and nature. Its historical hydraulic system was registered in Unesco world heritage sites in 2009. This system - combining numerous elements in a practical and harmonious entity - shows ingenuity and impressive technical achievements. Generally speaking, almost the whole aspects of the life of residents were anchored around the river and in close relationship with water. Decade after decade, because of modernity and lifestyle changes, the close relationship between people and rivers, and subsequently the leading natural feature of the city, has changed such that it almost doesn’t exist anymore. The spiritual values and perceptual interconnections between people and their city are also gone. This study aims to restore the values that make this city unique without preserving physical values like objects in a museum. The daily life of people and their relationship with water has always been part of the city’s identity that needs to be revived with landscape architecture and design magic

The Structural change in the International System: From a Modified Version of Neorealism

This paper analyzes how Waltzian neorealism by some modifications can explain and predict the structural change in international system. To answer this question, we extract the main concepts of waltz definition of the system and its critics then draw the theoretical scheme to find limitation and make a synthetized modifications on waltz international system to make it applicable to study structural change in the system. Our results showed waltz theory weaknesses in the first two elements of the structure. Results also show that the international system defined by waltz needs some modifications by adding up the structure of the process to exit from the problem of having no attention to historical and social basis of international outcomes. From a modified version of neorealism, this study emphasizes the need to take into account the impact of the structure of the process to the structural change of the system along with opening the first two element of the structure to change by taking into account the principle of segmentation and separateness to functional specification

Knoevenagel condensation of isatins with malononitrile/ethyl cyanoacetate in the presence of sulfonic acid functionalized silica (SBA-Pr-SO3H) as a new nano-reactor

The Knoevenagel condensation between isatins and active methylene compounds like malononitrile and ethyl cyanoacetate to prepare 2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene malononitrile/ cyanoacetates is described. The reactions occur in the presence of sulfonic acid functionalized silica SBA-15 (SBA-Pr-SO3H) in an aqueous medium giving excellent yields of the products in short reaction times. SBA-Pr-SO3H with a pore size of 6 nm is found to be an efficient and environmentally benign catalyst for this reaction

Katakunci: Valuasi, Nilai Wajar, Free Cash Flow to Equity (FCFE), Dividen Discount Model (DDM

Application of SBA-Pr-SO3H in the synthesis of benzoxazole derivatives

Propylsulfonic acid functionalized SBA-15 (SBA-Pr-SO3H) catalyzed the synthesis of 2-aryl benzoxazoles from 2-aminophenol and benzoyl chloride derivatives in good yields under reflux condition in acetic acid. In solvent free condition, hydroxybenzanilide derivatives were obtained

Broken rotor bar detection in induction machines with transient operating speeds

    Get PDF
Previous work on condition monitoring of induction machines has focused on steady-state speed operation. Here, a new concept is introduced based on an analysis of transient machine currents. The technique centers around the extraction and removal of the fundamental component of the current and analyzing the residual current using wavelets. Test results of induction machines operating both as a motor and a generator shows the ability of the algorithm to detect broken rotor bars

Modification of mesoporous silica SBA-15 with different organic molecules to gain chemical sensors: a review

    Get PDF
The recognition of the biologically and environmentally important ions is of great interest in the field of chemical sensors in recent years. The fluorescent sensors as a powerful optical analytical technique for the detection of low level of various analytes such as anions and metal cations have been progressively developed due to the simplicity, cost effective, and selectivity for monitoring specific analytes in various systems. Organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterials have important advantages as solid chemosensors and various innovative hybrid materials modified by fluorescence molecules were recently prepared. On the other hand, the homogeneous porosity and large surface area of mesoporous silica make it a promising inorganic support. SBA-15 as a two-dimensional hexagonal mesoporous silica material with stable structure, thick walls, tunable pore size, and high specific surface area is a valuable substrate for modification with different organic chelating groups. This review highlights the fluorescent chemosensors for ionic species based on modification of the mesoporous silica SBA-15 with different organic molecules, which have been recently developed from our laboratory
