    Get PDF
The purpose of this study was to compare the teaching volunteers’ perceptions toward leadership styles and organizational cultures in SHANAN Education Networking Group (SENG), Northern Shan State, Myanmar. The study focused on teaching volunteers from the five (5) selected community-based education centers in Northern Shan State, under the SHANAN Education Networking Group, Myanmar. The sample was composed of eighty-five (85) teaching volunteers in SENG. The main source of the data was a set of questionnaire that covers teaching volunteers’ demographics, leadership styles and organizational culture. The collected data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics, Frequency percentage, Standard deviation Mean, and One-way ANOVA. The study found that Democratic leadership style was the most perceived leadership style of teaching volunteers at SHANAN Education Networking Group, Northern Shan State, Myanmar. The teaching volunteers’ perceptions toward Organizational culture were at “Positive level,” which means that they were positive perceptions towards the Organizational culture of SHANAN Education Networking Group, Myanmar. The research found there was no significance difference between teaching volunteers’ leadership styles and their perceptions toward organizational culture. No matter what leadership styles teaching volunteers were used, their perceptions toward organizational culture were the same

This report evaluates the effectiveness of three support services in helping struggling students pass the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE). The report highlights the need to help students before they first take the exam in grade 10 and introduces the CAHSEE Early Warning Model, a forecasting tool to identify at-risk students in earlier grades

Computational Fluid Dynamic for Performance Hydrofoil due to Angle of Attack

    Get PDF
This study uses a 2-D computational fluid dynamic (CFD) with a hydrofoil object. The general parameters used are pressure-based with Reynold numbers (Re) 106. The Pressure velocity coupling method used is SIMPLE with Reynold k-? as the viscous model on ANSYS Fluent 2019R1. The angle of attack variations are used starting from 00, 20, 40, 60, 10, 120, 150, 200, 250, and 300. From the simulation shows the hydrofoil characters depicted in the Coefficient drag (CD), Coefficient Lift (CL) and Pressure graphs Coefficient (CP) approaches the experimental results

Carefully designed multiple choice tests can help teachers to quickly determine what students don't understand

    Get PDF
Over the last 20 years, US schools have widely adopted annual student testing, a move which many researchers believe may have been of little benefit to students' educational outcomes. Julian R. Betts, Youjin Hahn and Andrew C. Zau examine the impact of a different type of mathematics testing - one which is aimed at determining students' strengths and weaknesses in math. They find that since 2000 the Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project in California’s second largest school district has increased student’s state test score by up to 4 percentage points. They attribute these increases to the detailed information and insights into student performance the tests provide compared to more traditional examinations

PENILAIAN RISIKO LINGKUNGAN PADA PROSES BALLASTING DAN DEBALLASTING DI PT. PELINDO I MENGGUNAKAN BOW TIE RISK ASSESSMENT

    Get PDF
Pelindo I belum mempunyai fasilitas pengolahan air balas, air balas kapal langsung dibuang ke perairan pelabuhan. PT. Pelindo I perlu lebih ketat dalam pengawasan pembuangan air balas kapal, khususnya kapal-kapal rute luar negeri dan menyediakan fasilitas pengolahan air balas

Partisipasi Petani dalam Pembangunan Pedesaan di Kabupaten Konawe

This study is proposed in answering to the question of “What types of partisipation do farmers give in developing Rurals Areas in Regency of Konawe”. This study was conducted in the rural areas of farmers who have joined in farmer groups, included outlying rural areas and swasembada rural areas in the Regency of Konawe. Technique of choosing samples was carried out by ”cluster purposive sampling”, i.e., firstly, population is grouped based on regions/rural areas, then 5 respondents are chosen purposively from every farmer (member of farmer group) who have been choosen from 10 rural areas. Finally, 50 samples of respondents are chosen (farmers who are members of farmer group). Data collection was undertaken by three methods, they are: (1) indepth observation, (2) indepth interview, and (3) focus group discussion (FGD). Questions on the implementation of rural area development in list of questionnaire forms are formulated into three stages of categories; they are full participation (PP) with score 3, partly/moderate participation (PS) with score 2, and less participation with score 1. The result shows that type of farmers participations mostly are categorized into partly/moderate participation, that is 72 percent, and the rest, respectively, are 10.66 percent for full participation and 17,34 percent for less participation. Types of participations in developing rural areas in Regency of Konawe were carried out through three models of participation approach, i.e., farmer participation in developing means and infrastructure of rural areas, participation in strengthening sosio-economical rural areas, and participation in improving output of rural area farming. In conclusion, opportunity, competence, and willingness of farmers to take part in developing rural areas are very low because of the barrier of social system from elite groups in rural areas, as well as it is mostly influenced by the dependence of government program realization, as well as social mobilization which is most familiar in rural communities. Therefore, farmers are given few opportunities actively and really in developing their rural areas
