    Cognitive Capital and its Profitability

    Get PDF
Transformation of competition in cognitive capitalism makes the creation and increment values on the basis of intangible assets - knowledge, developments and ideas. The knowledge economy is becoming a significant resource of scientific and technical knowledge, which is made on the basis of a new form of capital - cognitive capital. Due to lack of development of a new type of economic system, formalization remains low. The concept of cognitive capitalism recognizes the predominant form of accumulation by misappropriation and exploitation of knowledge. The article analyzes the current economic processes in terms of the transition to a knowledge-based economy. At the article is been made the attempt of the scientific definition of cognitive capital. Have done an example of return on cognitive capital. The cognitive component of the national capital identifies monopolistic competition, that is competition for new ideas it promotes the search for new combinations, new applications, new knowledge, which reduces the overall price level. Of course, initially these new developments costs are included in the price structure, and initial development can be costly enough, but as the general price level is reduced scale. That is, this new application is possible more resource-saving, it allows you to receive the overall economy and thus contribute to lower prices

Design of dye-sensitized TiO2 materials for photocatalytic hydrogen production: light and shadow

    Get PDF
Visible light-driven production of fuels and value-added chemicals is currently one of the most intensely investigated research topics across various scientific disciplines, due to its potential to ease the World\u2019s dependence on fossil fuels. In this perspective, we recapitulate some of the main features of dyesensitized photocatalytic systems aimed at solar H2 production, focusing in particular on TiO2-based threecomponent assemblies with organic sensitizers. Relevant aspects include the structural and electronic properties of the sensitizers, the nature of the semiconductor and the hydrogen evolution catalysts, the role of the sacrificial donor and the effect of the reaction parameters on H2 production rate and stability. Besides presenting the most significant recent developments of the field, we also analyse some of its common practices in terms of experimental design, laboratory procedures and data presentation, trying to highlight their weaknesses and suggesting possible improvements. We then conclude with a short paragraph discussing the possible future development of this exciting research area

    Voice recognition in safety systems

    Get PDF
This article discusses the problem of biometric way of identifying a person, in particular, voice recognition for safety system. The algorithm for obtaining the speaker's voice model is described. In this paper, the method of Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) is considered for distinguishing the distinctive features of the speaker. Besides, speaker recognition by voice may be used in criminal investigations, forensics and radio reconnaissance

Addition of Sn to TiNb alloys to improve mechanical performance and surface properties conducive to enhanced cell activity

Titanium (Ti) alloys with Niobium (Nb) and Tin (Sn) were prepared in order to conduct a systematic study on the bulk and surface properties of as-cast c.p.Ti, binary Ti40Nb and Ti10Sn, and ternary Ti-10Nb-5Sn (at.%) to ascertain whether Sn content can be used as an enhancer for cell activity. From a metallurgy viewpoint, a range of binary and ternary alloys displaying distinctive Ti phases (i.e. Ξ², α’, α”) were achieved at room temperature. Their surface (oxide thickness and composition, roughness, contact angle) and bulk (compressive stiffness, strength, elongation, microhardness, electrical resistance) features were characterised. The same surface roughness was imparted on all the alloys, therefore substrate-cell interactions were evaluated independently from this variable. The physico-mechanical properties of the ternary alloy presented the highest strength to stiffness ratio and thereby proved the most suitable for load-bearing orthopaedic applications. From a cellular response viewpoint, their cytotoxicity, ability to adsorb proteins, to support cell growth and to promote proliferation were studied. Metabolic activity using a mouse model was monitored for a period of 12β€―days to elucidate the mechanism behind an enhanced proliferation rate observed in the Sn-containing alloys. It was hypothesised that the complex passivating surface oxide layer and the bulk inhomogeneity with two dominant Ti phases were responsible for this phenomenon

The design of the clamping nanosensor fixed to the belt is developed. This solution is necessary for the rapid imposition of the measurement system on the chest, when conducting studies in clinical settings, where a significant flow of patients daily passes. Also, studies of nanosensors have been carried out, to which the optimal technology of their manufacture has been revealed. Studies have shown that the metrological characteristics of nanosensors exceed the characteristics of the parameters of the electrodes

Italian Young People Through the Lens of Youth Policies

    Get PDF
Previous attempts to classify youth policies emphasised the importance of the underlyingβ€œconcept of youth”, which sustains and legitimises specific policy measures. The aim of this study is toidentify, through a bottom-up approach, the main orientations which characterise recent youth policiesin Italy. Twelve documents (published from 2012 to 2016) at the national, regional and local levels areanalysed through content analysis. Four main policy orientations emerge, each characterised by a differentrepresentation of young people and solutions/aims. Representing young people as talents often impliesan orientation toward skill development; seeing youth as a resource is often associated with the promotionof their possible contribution to the society. Negative representations of youth (as vulnerable and asproblems) characterise protective solutions. Each approach is characterised as well by specific risks, strengths and supporting institutions. A useful framework for the analysis of youth policies at the nationaland international levels is discussed
