Vibrations of rotating machinary can be classified as translational and rotational. The vibrations occurred in rotational direction are commonly classified as torsional vibration. Torsional vibration can cause fatigue damage of shaft, coupling, or gear. In this paper, a method for measuring torsional vibration is proposed. This method uses two incremental encoders and an algorithm to process the data. To show its effectiveness, the method was implemented to measure torsional vibration of a rotor shaft system. The paper also shows the torsional vibration characteristics of of the system. To predict the torsional natural frequencies of the system, a finite elemen model was developed using Ansys Workbench 11 and the results was validite using a torsional FRF test. The measurement was performed a range of rotational speed to enable a spectral map can be constructed. There were two types of flexible couplings used in this work, a hose coupling and a rubber jaw coupling. The results of the experiment show that the proposed method can be implemented very well to measure the torsional vibration of the rotor shaft-system. In addition, the torsional vibration of the rotor shaft system has a similar characteristics to that of translational vibration, in which vibration signal is dominated by component with frequency of 1xRPM. The results also show that the level of torsional vibration depends on the type of flexible coupling being used. Due to low torsional stiffness, hose coupling produce low natural frequencies than those of jaw coupling. As a consequence, hose coupling are liable to higher vibration than jaw coupling

Mangrove forest and the community lived around it are two components that influence each other. The interaction between the two of them is unavoidable because they live in the same environment. Activities, perceptions or actions of the community can affect the sustainability of the existence and the preservation of mangrove forest. This study aims to describe the community perceptions towards mangrove forest and to analyze the correlation that affects community perceptions in Setapuk Besar village towards the level of knowledge, dependence, and cosmopolitanism. The technique of sampling employed in this study is purposive sampling. Based on Slovin formula, a total sample of 74 respondents was obtained. The frequency of community perceptions in Setapuk Besar village on the existence of mangrove forest are: 67 respondents (90.5%) had positive perceptions, 6 respondents (8.1%) had neutral perceptions, and 1 respondent (1.4%) had negative perception. From the results of Kendall tau-b test, the value of Sig 0.000 0.05, which indicates that there is no significant correlation between community perceptions and the level of knowledge positive correlation coefficient (0.119), the correlation strength is low. Keywords: Community perceptions, mangrove forest, Respondents, Setapuk Besa

Jatibarang dam construction in 2010 made an impact on the livelihoods of Kandri Village\u27s communities who has majority as farmers because of several hectares of agricultural land sunk into the reservoir. Kandri village\u27s communities who are affected by the construction of Jatibarang reservoirs need to prepare themself because the impact of dam construction with community empowerment. This research aim to describe the forms, the results, and identifying constraints on community empowerment Kandri Tourism Village. The method in this research is taxonomy analysis of the overall data with detailed focus on a particular domain that is useful to describe the phenomenon or problem of the study. The results showed that the forms of community development in the Kandri Tourism Village are culinary, crafts, and special interest education. Empowerment results in this research which are community needs, the range of productive resources, and the level of community participation are not maximized. The community development constraints in Kandri Tourism Village are constraints of the individual which have a lack of stability of business, leading commodities were stopped when there is a loss, there is still a dependency with outsiders, lack of confidence, and concerns about insecurity, while the constraint of the social system is obstacles of interest groups

A series of nitrogen doped titania nanomaterials were synthesized via sol-gel method by using tetraethyl ammonium hydroxide as N source. Doping of N into TiO2 was confirmed via X-ray diffraction (XRD) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analyses. Mixture of anatase and rutile phases appeared in the unmodified TiO2 which was calcined at 773 K. The addition of N to TiO2 matrix led to formation of single phase of anatase. It has been demonstrated that TiO2 and all the N-doped TiO2 materials were in nanoscale ranging 15.91 – 20.82 nm. Change in surface morphology after N doping was detected by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). Results of EDX mapping analysis indicated homogeneous distribution of N dopants

This case is about the process a forwarding agent had to undergo to document three major processes: importing, exporting, and billing. These major processes were recorded and tabulated to facilitate (1) easy understanding of the processes and (2) reengineering of processes. The case is appropriate for small and medium enterprises to follow in documenting processes and reengineering them by merging, collapsing and removing, and rearranging. The case also suggests ways to insert technologies and innovations at appropriate steps of the processes
