Effect of Lithium Chloride (Licl) Dopant on The Performance of Catalysts for the Oxidative Coupling of Methane
The present study reports effects of lithium
chloride (LiCl) doping on MgO, La2O3, SnO2, CaO and
ZnO catalysts. All the catalysts were prepared by the
impregnation method. The catalysts were tested at
reaction temperature of 775oC. The feed flow rate of
methane, oxygen and nitrogen was carried out in the
ratio of 3:1:2 giving a weight hourly space velocity
(WHSV) of 0.375 g.s/cm3. La2O3 showed the highest
C2+ selectivity among the undoped catalysts. All the
catalysts were doped with LiCl to compare their
methane conversion, selectivity and product yield. The
2.0 mol% LiCl doped into La2O3 was the best catalyst
formulation having achieved 46.7% of C2+ selectivity
with CH4 conversion of 29.0% and the increase in
selectivity was attributed to the presence of chlorine.
Hydrogen production was more pronounced for MgO
based catalysts and believed to be generated by surfacecatalyzed
reactions
Genetically Confirmed Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3 With Epilepsy In A Malay Patient, A Case Report
Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is an autosomal recessive disease affecting the anterior horn cells of the spinal cord. The diagnosis is usually based on the clinical presentation with or without muscle biopsy and the molecular detection of mutation in the SMNI gene. There have been a few reported cases of SMA with central nervous system involvement, but these were without genetic diagnoses. We report a Malay girl with genetically confirmed SMA complicated by epilepsy. She first presented with motor weakness at the age of 17 months and recurrent seizures a month later. The molecular genetic
analysis of her SMN gene showed homozygous deletion of exon 7 and 8 of the SMN1 gene. The seizure responded well to carbamazepine. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case of genetically comfirmed Malay SMA patient with an association with epilepsy
Using computational fluid dynamics in the determination of solar collector orientation and stack height of a solar induced ventilation prototype
Stack ventilation in the hot and humid climate is inherently inefficient due to minimal air temperature differences between indoor and outdoor environment of a naturally ventilated building. Solar induced ventilation is a viable alternative in enhancing this stack ventilation. This paper aims to demonstrate investigations on the effective solar collector orientation and stack height for a solar induced ventilation prototype that utilizes roof solar collector and vertical stack. The orientation of the solar collector is significant as it determines the amount of solar radiation absorbed by the solar collector. Meanwhile, the height of the vertical stack influences the creation of the stack pressure in inducing air movement. Investigations were executed using a simulation modelling software called FloVENT. The validation of the simulation modelling against physical experiment indicated a good agreement between these two results. Analyses were executed on the air temperature increments inside the solar collector. A high increment of the air temperature resulted in the effective orientation. Meanwhile, the air temperature and mass flow rate of the various heights of the vertical stack were also analyzed. The findings concluded that the recommended orientation for the prototype’s solar collector is the west-facing orientation. It was also found that the higher the vertical stack, the lower the air temperature inside the stack would be, but with greater induced mass flow rate
B40 online business platform: e-commerce and life cycle model considerations
A new online business platform is needed in Malaysia. The proposed system aims to provide B40 household income group with the necessary knowledge for increasing readiness in online business, and equip them with access to available financing, e-commerce, and logistic solutions. Prior to project commencement, a review is performed on e-commerce and development life cycle models. The adopted approach includes issues such as client engagement, development team, duration of project, requirement of prototype, and scale of deployment. In this case, a modified Rapid Application Development model is suitable for monitoring project progress and delivery
Sposol: 5 In 1 Smart Portable Solar Light
Smart Portable Solar Light is a project based on a circuit obtained through the internet connection.A few modifications have been done to the original circuit; original circuit uses eight LEDs while this project only uses one main LED.The main source of this system is harvest form the sun.The sun’s radiation is converted to electrical energy that is supplied to a battery, which acts as a power storage for the system.Another set of batteries is used as the structure of the lamp is design to be portable
Exploring Minecraft in the primary school syllabus for enhancing Arabic learning: a systematic literature review
This study provides a systematic literature review of the research done in exploring Minecraft in the primary school syllabus for enhancing learning through Arabic published since 2019 until 2023. Starting from 12,247 sources, 30 articles were selected using predefined selection criteria. The documents were analysed and coded using the categories: Minecraft, Arabic language and its challenges, primary school syllabus, context, role of technology, pedagogical practice, and learning impact. The searching based on three majors’ authentic sources which are 1) Mendeley, 2) JSTOR and 3) Taylor & Francis. That information allowed an identification of major educational outcomes related to the integration of Minecraft will enhance the learning for Arabic language in an effective way and will improve the pedagogy ways and teaching method among educators and students. In addition, the study contributes with a set of identified research gaps and recommendations for future research. As a results, 30 articles showed that by using Minecraft as a gamification can enhance students' understanding on Arabic Learning
Ab initio calculation of vibrational frequencies of AsO glass
We have used the density-functional theory to make models containing arsenic and oxygen atoms. The structures are optimized for the minimum energy of the Schrodinger equation. In this way, we obtain the bond distances and angles of the stable structures. We obtain the vibrational frequencies of each cluster. The calculated vibrational frequencies are compared with those found in the experimental Raman spectra. The values of the vibrational frequencies calculated for AsO(2:)ASO(4)(T(d))(:)AsO(2) (rectangular), AsO(2) (triangular) and AsO(3) (pyramidal) agree with those found in the Raman spectra of vitreous aresenic oxide, indicating that these clusters are really present in the arsenic oxide glass.
