    Thermodynamics and spin-charge separation of one-dimensional strongly repulsive three-component fermions

    The low temperature thermodynamics of one-dimensional strongly repulsive SU(3) fermions in the presence of a magnetic field is investigated via the Yang-Yang thermodynamic Bethe ansatz method. The analytical free energy and magnetic properties of the model at low temperatures in a weak magnetic field are derived via the Wiener-Hopf method. It is shown that the low energy physics can be described by spin-charge separated conformal field theories of an effective Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid and an antiferromagnetic SU(3) Heisenberg spin chain. Beyond the Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid regime, the equation of state is given in terms of the polylog function for a weak external field. The results obtained are essential for further study of quantum criticality in strongly repulsive three-component fermions.Comment: 21 pages, 2 figure

    Exact solution for infinitely strongly interacting Fermi gases in tight waveguides

    We present an exact analytical solution of the fundamental systems of quasi-one-dimensional spin-1/2 fermions with infinite repulsion for arbitrary confining potential. The eigenfunctions are constructed by the combination of Gireardeau's hard-core contacting boundary condition and group theoretical method which guarantees the obtained states to be simultaneously the eigenstates of SS and SzS_z and fulfill the antisymmetry under odd permutation. We show that the total ground-state density profile behaves like the polarized noninteracting fermions, whereas the spin-dependent densities display different properties for different spin configurations.     Thermal and optical analysis of a passive heat recovery and storage system for greenhouse skin

    The thermal performance of a greenhouse can be greatly affected by the thermal and optical properties of its envelope system. In this study, a novel skin for greenhouse consisting of ethene-co-tetrafluoroethene (ETFE) membrane and Phase Change Material (PCM) RT28 has been developed and has also been experimentally investigated. The optical behaviour of the developed ETFE-Phase Change Material module sample is measured using a spectrometer and a pyranometer, respectively. The results show that at liquid state, the module has higher transmittance than that of at solid state. In addition, the light transmittance is related to the PCM's temperature. In the thermal aspect, the ETFE-Phase Change Material module presents different characterisation under various irradiances. Comparative analysis is also conducted for the ETFE-Phase Change Material, ETFE-water and ETFE alone. The ETFE-Phase Change Material system shows a benefit of the thermal management than that of other systems

    Dynamics of ammonia oxidizers and denitrifiers in response to compost addition in black soil, Northeast China

    Organic fertilizer application could have an impact on the nitrogen cycle mediated by microorganisms in arable soils. However, the dynamics of soil ammonia oxidizers and denitrifiers in response to compost addition are less understood. In this study, we examined the effect of four compost application rates (0, 11.25, 22.5 and 45 t/ha) on soil ammonia oxidizers and denitrifiers at soybean seedling, flowering and mature stage in a field experiment in Northeast China. As revealed by quantitative PCR, compost addition significantly enhanced the abundance of ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB) at seedling stage, while the abundance of ammonia oxidizing archaea was unaffected across the growing season. The abundance of genes involved in denitrification (nirS, nirK and nosZ) were generally increased along with compost rate at seedling and flowering stages, but not in mature stage. The non-metric multidimensional scaling analysis revealed that moderate and high level of compost addition consistently induced shift in AOB and nirS containing denitrifers community composition across the growing season. Among AOB lineages, Nitrosospira cluster 3a gradually decreased along with the compost rate across the growing season, while Nitrosomonas exhibited an opposite trend. Network analysis indicated that the complexity of AOB and nirS containing denitrifiers network gradually increased along with the compost rate. Our findings highlighted the positive effect of compost addition on the abundance of ammonia oxidizers and denitrifiers and emphasized that compost addition play crucial roles in shaping their community compositions and co-occurrence networks in black soil of Northeast China

    Serum, spleen metabolomics and gut microbiota reveals effect of catalpol on blood deficiency syndrome caused by cyclophosphamide and acetylphenylhydrazine

    Catalpol (CA), extracted from Rehmannia Radix, holds extensive promise as a natural medicinal compound. This study employed 16S rRNA gene sequencing and combined serum and spleen metabolomics to profoundly investigate the therapeutic effects of CA on blood deficiency syndrome (BDS) and the underlying mechanisms. Notably, CA exhibited effectiveness against BDS induced by cyclophosphamide (CP) and acetylphenylhydrazine (APH) in rats-CA substantially elevated levels of crucial indicators such as erythropoietin (EPO), granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). Additionally, CA could alleviate peripheral blood cytopenia. Furthermore, the analysis of 16S rRNA revealed that CA had the potential to reverse the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes (F/B) ratio associated with BDS. Through comprehensive serum and spleen metabolomic profiling, we successfully identified 22 significant biomarkers in the serum and 23 in the spleen, respectively. Enrichment analysis underscored Glycerophospholipid metabolism and Sphingolipid metabolism as potential pathways through which CA exerts its therapeutic effects on BDS
