Representing Volumetric Videos as Dynamic MLP Maps

This paper introduces a novel representation of volumetric videos for real-time view synthesis of dynamic scenes. Recent advances in neural scene representations demonstrate their remarkable capability to model and render complex static scenes, but extending them to represent dynamic scenes is not straightforward due to their slow rendering speed or high storage cost. To solve this problem, our key idea is to represent the radiance field of each frame as a set of shallow MLP networks whose parameters are stored in 2D grids, called MLP maps, and dynamically predicted by a 2D CNN decoder shared by all frames. Representing 3D scenes with shallow MLPs significantly improves the rendering speed, while dynamically predicting MLP parameters with a shared 2D CNN instead of explicitly storing them leads to low storage cost. Experiments show that the proposed approach achieves state-of-the-art rendering quality on the NHR and ZJU-MoCap datasets, while being efficient for real-time rendering with a speed of 41.7 fps for 512×512512 \times 512 images on an RTX 3090 GPU. Background and objective TACE, Ar-He target cryosurgery and radioactive seeds implantation are the mainly micro-invasive methods in the treatment of lung cancer. This article summarizes the survival quality after treatment, the clinical efficiency and survival period, and analyzes the advantages and shortcomings of each methods so as to evaluate the clinical effect of non-small cell lung cancer with multiple minimally invasive treatment. Methods All the 139 cases were nonsmall cell lung cancer patients confirmed by pathology and with follow up from July 2006 to July 2009 retrospectively, and all of them lost operative chance by comprehensive evaluation. Different combination of multiple minimally invasive treatments were selected according to the blood supply, size and location of the lesion. Among the 139 cases, 102 cases of primary and 37 cases of metastasis to mediastinum, lung and chest wall, 71 cases of abundant blood supply used the combination of superselective target artery chemotherapy, Ar-He target cryoablation and radiochemotherapy with seeds implantation; 48 cases of poor blood supply use single Ar-He target cryoablation; 20 cases of poor blood supply use the combination of Ar-He target cryoablation and radiochemotheraoy with seeds implantation. And then the pre- and post-treatment KPS score, imaging data and the result of follow up were analyzed. Results The KPS score increased 20.01 meanly after the treatment. Follow up 3 years, 44 cases of CR, 87 cases of PR, 3 cases of NC and 5 cases of PD, and the efficiency was 94.2%. Ninety-nine cases of 1 year survival (71.2%), 43 cases of 2 years survival (30.2%), 4 cases with over 3 years survival and the median survival was 19 months. Average survival was (16±1.5)months. There was no severe complications, such as spinal cord injury, vessel and pericardial aspiration. Conclusion Minimally invasive technique is a highly successful, micro-invasive and effective method with mild complications. To non-small cell lung cancer, we can improve the middle and long term clinical effect by using the different combination of multiple minimally invasive treatments according to the patient's condition

Efficient Neural Radiance Fields for Interactive Free-viewpoint Video

This paper aims to tackle the challenge of efficiently producing interactive free-viewpoint videos. Some recent works equip neural radiance fields with image encoders, enabling them to generalize across scenes. When processing dynamic scenes, they can simply treat each video frame as an individual scene and perform novel view synthesis to generate free-viewpoint videos. However, their rendering process is slow and cannot support interactive applications. A major factor is that they sample lots of points in empty space when inferring radiance fields. We propose a novel scene representation, called ENeRF, for the fast creation of interactive free-viewpoint videos. Specifically, given multi-view images at one frame, we first build the cascade cost volume to predict the coarse geometry of the scene. The coarse geometry allows us to sample few points near the scene surface, thereby significantly improving the rendering speed. This process is fully differentiable, enabling us to jointly learn the depth prediction and radiance field networks from RGB images. Experiments on multiple benchmarks show that our approach exhibits competitive performance while being at least 60 times faster than previous generalizable radiance field methods.Comment: SIGGRAPH Asia 2022; Project page: https://zju3dv.github.io/enerf

Component Interaction of ESCRT Complexes Is Essential for Endocytosis-Dependent Growth, Reproduction, DON Production and Full Virulence in Fusarium graminearum

Multivesicular bodies (MVBs) are critical intermediates in the trafficking of ubiquitinated endocytosed surface proteins to the lysosome/vacuole for destruction. Recognizing and packaging ubiquitin modified cargoes to the MVB pathway require ESCRT (Endosomal sorting complexes required for transport) machinery, which consists of four core subcomplexes, ESCRT-0, ESCRT-I, ESCRT-II, and ESCRT-III. Fusarium graminearum is an important plant pathogen that causes head blight of major cereal crops. Our previous results showed that ESCRT-0 is essential for fungal development and pathogenicity in Fusarium graminearum. We then, in this study, systemically studied the protein-protein interactions within F. graminearum ESCRT-I, -II or -III complex, as well as between ESCRT-0 and ESCRT-I, ESCRT-I and ESCRT-II, and ESCRT-II and ESCRT-III complexes and found that loss of any ESCRT component resulted in abnormal function in endocytosis. In addition, ESCRT deletion mutants displayed severe defects in growth, deoxynivalenol (DON) production, virulence, sexual, and asexual reproduction. Importantly genetic complementation with corresponding ESCRT genes fully rescued all these defective phenotypes, indicating the essential role of ESCRT machinery in fungal development and plant infection in F. graminearum. Taken together, the protein-protein interactome and biological functions of the ESCRT machinery is first profoundly characterized in F. graminearum, providing a foundation for further exploration of ESCRT machinery in filamentous fungi

Genistein Inhibition of Topoisomerase IIα Expression Participated by Sp1 and Sp3 in HeLa Cell

Genistein (4′, 5, 7-trihydroxyisoflavone) is an isoflavone compound obtained from plants that has potential applications in cancer therapy. However, the molecular mechanism of the action of genistein on cancer cell apoptosis is not well known. In this study, we investigated the effect of genistein on topoisomerase II-α (Topo IIα), an important protein involved in the processes of DNA replication and cell proliferation. The results revealed that inhibition of Topo IIα expression through the regulation of Specificity protein 1 and Specificity protein 3 may be one of the reasons for genistein’s induction of HeLa cell apoptosis

Background: Natural resistance associated macrophage protein 1 (NRAMP1), encoded by the SLC11A1 gene, has been described to regulate macrophage activation and be associated with infectious and autoimmune diseases. The relation between SLC11A1 polymorphisms and tuberculosis susceptibility has been studied in different populations. Methods: We systematically reviewed published studies on SLC11A1 polymorphisms and tuberculosis susceptibility until September 15, 2010 and quantitatively summarized associations of the most widely studied polymorphisms using metaanalysis. Results: In total, 36 eligible articles were included in this review. In Meta-analysis, significant associations were observed between tuberculosis risk and widely studied SLC11A1 polymorphisms with summarized odds ratio of 1.35 (95%CI, 1.17– 1.54), 1.25 (95 % CI, 1.04–1.50), 1.23 (95 % CI, 1.04–1.44), 1.31 (95%CI, 1.08–1.59) for 39 UTR, D543N, INT4, and 59 (GT)n, respectively. Heterogeneity between studies was not pronounced, and the associations did not remarkably vary in the stratified analysis with respect to study population and study base. Conclusions: The association between SLC11A1 polymorphisms and tuberculosis susceptibility observed in our analyses supports the hypothesis that NRAMP1 might play an important role in the host defense to the development of tuberculosis

Performance Analysis of Peer-to-Peer Online Lending Platforms in China

In this paper we intend to check the performance of Peer-to-Peer online lending platforms in China. Different from commercial banks, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) platforms’ business process is divided into the market-expanding stage and the risk-managing stage. In the market-expanding stage, platforms are intended to help borrowers attain more money, and in the risk-managing stage, platforms try their best to ensure that the lenders’ money is repaid on time. Thus, with a sample of 66 leading big P2P platforms, and a novel two-stage slacks-based measure data envelopment analysis with non-cooperative game, the performance efficiency of each stage as well as the comprehensive efficiency are evaluated. The results show that the leading big platforms are good at managing the risk, although risk management is not the major concern of most P2P platforms in China. We also find that average performance efficiency of the platforms that are located in non-first tier cities is higher than that in first tier cities. This unexpected result indicates that development of the P2P industry may relieve the severe distortion of resource allocation and efficiency loss arising from unbalanced regional development. Then dividing the platforms into different groups according to different types of ownership, we verify that performance efficiency of the P2P platforms from the state-owned enterprise group is in a dominant position, and the robustness check indicates that the major advantage of the state-owned enterprise (SOE) group mainly lies in the risk management. We also make a further study to figure out the sources of inefficiency, finding that it mainly arises from the shortage of lenders, the lack of average borrowing balance, and the insufficient transparency of information disclosure. In the last section we conclude our research and propose some advice

Background and objective Main airway severe obstruction is a problem facing difficulty flexible bronchoscope because the patient is not able to breath smoothly under prostration, and death from suffocation is a frequent outcome. Managing the airway of patients with critical tracheal stenosis remains a formidable challenge to bronchoscopists. This study is to evaluate the application and efficacy of argon plasma coagulation (APC) and cryoextraction for thetreatment of endobronchial neoplasma under rigid bronchoscope combined with flexible bronchoscope. Methods Two groups of airway pathologically proved neoplasma were retrospectively reviewed for the different endobronchial intervation modalities. Group A: Argon plasma coagulation (APC) and cryoextraction were used for the treatment of endobronchial neoplasma under rigid bronchoscope combined with electronic bronchoscope in 19 cases with tracheobronchial carcinoma. Rigid bronchoscope was inserted into trachea with general anesthesia. Then the endobronchial tumor was removed by the combination APC and cryoextraction. Group B: APC and grasp or cryoextraction were used for the debulking of endobronchial tumor under flexible bronchoscope in 20 cases with airway tumor. Results Both tracheal and bronchial obstruction were more severe in Group A than those in Group B, but the tumor debulking was higher for the first time in Group A than in Group B. There were no difference on debulking volume between trachea and bronchus in the same group. The procedures were less complex in Group A than in Group B. The clinical improvement was better in Group A than inGroup B. There were no severe complications directly related to the procedures. Conclusion The combination of APC and cryoextraction is a rapid and effective method for the treatment of endoluminal airway tumor under rigid bronchoscope combined with electronic bronchoscope. Cryoextraction could rapidly debulk airway tumor and APC could effectively ablate tumor and stop bleeding. Electronic bronchoscope is used for the maintenance after rigid bronchoscope and for the treatment of slightly airway obstruction
