Direito das mulheres e igualdade de gêneros : efetividade até que ponto?

Monografia (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Direito, 2014.O presente trabalho possui como tema central o surgimento e os avanços dos direitos das mulheres, bem como a igualdade de gênero e a efetividade desses direitos. O desenvolver desse estudo remete a uma análise histórica de acontecimentos marcantes que serviram de influência para o surgimento do feminismo no Brasil, como por exemplo, a Revolução Francesa, os ideais iluministas e, principalmente, a Declaração dos Direitos da Mulher e da Cidadã, primeiro documento que falou em direitos femininos e que impulsionou uma luta em busca da igualdade de gêneros. Em continuidade, analisa-se o surgimento do feminismo no mundo ocidental e no Brasil, assim como suas características e etapas. Como desenvolvimento da questão central da monografia, são estudados os principais direitos conquistados pelas mulheres (direito à educação, direitos políticos e direito ao trabalho) e questionados sua efetividade perante a sociedade brasileira. Por fim, são abordadas as medidas dos últimos governos em prol das mulheres e sua funcionalidade, bem como apresentadas pesquisas sobre o tema. ____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe present work has as a central theme the begining and advances on Women's Rights, as well as the gender equality and these rights' effectiveness. The development of this work brings up na historical analysis from milestones used as influence to the rise of the feminist movement on Brasil, as an example, the French Revolution, the Illuminist ideals and, mainly, the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Female Citizen, first document to talk about the subject of Womens' Rights and that boosted a fight on behalf of the gender equality. Continuously, the begining of the feminism on the Occdental World and Brazil is analysed, as well as its characteristics and phases. As development of the central question in this present work, the main rights adquired by women are studied (rights to education, political and work rights) and questioned its effectiveness in the Brazilian society. Finally, the steps taken by last governments in favor of women are studied, as well as its functionality, also being shown reasearches on the theme

Major depression and hormone suppression: response with nortriptiline

BACKGROUND: The relevance of this clinical case report is to emphasize the importance of the use of nortryptiline for major depression after endometriosis treatment. OBJECTIVE: To describe by a case report the relationship between treatment for endometriosis and psychiatric disorders. We will also describe the therapeutic response to nortriptyline. METHODS: Psychiatric interview and periodical clinical psychiatric evaluation for the treatment of a patient in the Outpatient Unit of the Institute of Psychiatry of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. RESULTS: An outpatient, fifty-five year-old woman with major depression treated in the Psychiatric Institute of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She was being treated for endometriosis with goserelin for hormone suppression when she started to complain of depressive and anxiety symptoms. The patient did not improve with 20 mg/day of fluoxetine for 8 weeks. She improved after 2 weeks using 25 mg/day of nortryptiline. The improvement persisted during our 16 weeks follow-up. CONCLUSION: Although only sertraline has its efficacy demonstrated for depressive symptoms associated with ovarian suppression, in this case nortriptyline was efficient too. We observed the necessity of more studies about this topic in order to better evaluate other therapeutic options.CONTEXTO: A relevância da descrição deste caso clínico é demonstrar a importância do uso de nortriptilina em um caso de depressão maior pós-tratamento para endometriose. OBJETIVO: Demonstrar as relações entre o tratamento para endometriose e os transtornos psiquiátricos e o resultado terapêutico que obtivemos com o uso da nortriptilina. MÉTODOS: Entrevista psiquiátrica e avaliação clínica psiquiátrica periódica de uma paciente em tratamento no ambulatório do Instituto de Psiquiatria da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. RESULTADOS: Mulher de 25 anos que, após início de supressão hormonal com goserelina para o tratamento da endometriose, passou a apresentar sintomatologia depressiva e ansiosa proeminente. Sem melhora com o uso de 20 mg/dia de fluoxetina por 8 semanas, foram prescritos 25 mg/dia de nortriptilina com boa resposta clínica em 2 semanas, mantendo a melhora depois de 16 semanas. CONCLUSÃO: Apesar de apenas a sertralina ter sua eficácia demonstrada na melhora dos sintomas depressivos associados à supressão ovariana, neste caso a nortriptilina demonstrou-se eficaz. Observamos a necessidade de estudos crescentes na área a fim de avaliar outras opções terapêuticas

Induction of hepatocyte growth factor production in human dermal fibroblasts and their proliferation by the extract of bitter melon pulp

Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) is useful as a potential therapeutic agent for hepatic and renal fibrosis and cardiovascular diseases through inducing proliferation of epithelial and endothelial cells. HGF inducers may also be useful as therapeutic agents for these diseases. However, there have been no reports on induction of HGF production by plant extracts or juices. An extract of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) pulp markedly induced HGF production. There was a time lag of 72 h before induction of HGF production after the extract addition. Its stimulatory effect was accompanied by upregulation of HGF gene expression. Increases in mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) were observed from 72 h after the extract addition. Inhibitors of MAPKs suppressed the extract-induced HGF production. The extract also stimulated cell proliferation. Both activities for induction of HGF production and cell proliferation were eluted together in a single peak with 14,000 Da on gel filtration. The results indicate that bitter melon pulp extract induced HGF production and cell proliferation of human dermal fibroblasts and suggest that activation of MAPKs is involved in the HGF induction. Our findings suggest potential usefulness of the extract for tissue regeneration and provide an insight into the molecular mechanism underlying the wound-healing property of bitter melon

The parents from the lower social classes in the public elementary school: an incomplete involvement

Desde sua emergência no cenário público nacional no início do século passado até os dias de hoje, as camadas populares1 têm mostrado formas de participação política distintas que acompanham as transformações econômicas, sociais e políticas por que passa o país ao longo desse período. Embora as péssimas condições de vida que experimentavam os primeiros operários no começo do século 20 tivessem projetado na cena pública os trabalhadores das nascentes indústrias, o reconhecimento das camadas populares como um novo ator político, entre outros já existentes, se dá apenas no início da década de 30, marcado por dois eventos - um em âmbito mundial e outro de caráter local - que irão promover as áreas urbanas, em detrimento das áreas rurais, como o local que sintetiza as condições econômicas e políticas do conjunto do país naquela época. Com efeito, a crise de 29 - que põe fim à primazia dos interesses agrários vinculados à economia de exportação do café - e a revolução de 30 - que abala a supremacia das oligarquias rurais na sociedade brasileira - dão livre curso às mudanças sociais e econômicas associadas ao desenvolvimento industrial, levando à necessidade de incorporação das camadas populares ao processo político.Since its emergence on the national political scene at the beginning of the last century, the working class has had different forms of political participation that have accompanied the economic, social and political transformations which the country has undergone during this period. If, immediately after the 1930 revolution until the mid-60s, the presence of the working class on the political scene was tied to the State which, to gain legitimacy, had to incorporate it into the political process as a new actor whose demands had to be recognized, in the 1970s and the 1980s, this same social class challenged the State, which had imposed a new discipline on social life, bringing to collective life the individual experiences of private life, arising from urban privations. Nowadays, in view of the relative obscurity of the working classes in national affairs - when compared with the two previously mentioned periods - one can infer that the crisis afflicting collective mobilization is very much a reflection of the absence of participation of these social classes. In a survey carried out in a municipal public school, located in a working class district in the town of Itaguaí/RJ, an attempt was made to assess forms of participation - in the guise of fragmented participation - which, recovering the meaning of social actions for the actors themselves, seeks to show the scope of collective participation for reconstructing the meaning of such actions. This stems from the fact that the meaning that people, as individuals, confer on what they do, remains as a clear link between routine daily life and times of mobilization and struggle, between particular needs and collective needs

OS DESAFIOS DE UMA NOVA GRADE CURRICULAR PARA O PROEJA / The challenges of a new curriculum for the PROEJA

Embora o Programa Nacional de Integração da Educação Profissional com a Educação Básica, na Modalidade de Educação de Jovens e Adultos (PROEJA), instituído no âmbito federal pelo Decreto n. 5.840/2006, preveja uma articulação entre o ensino técnico e o ensino médio de forma integrada (art. 1º, § 2º, inciso II), o currículo integrado representa, de fato, um desafio novo colocado aos docentes. Esse desafio, que implica a adesão de gestores e dos professores responsáveis pela formação geral e pela formação específica, no caso do Campus Codó do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Maranhão, ainda não pôde ser enfrentado por razões conjunturais. Por esse motivo, a partir dos bons resultados de uma experiência no Setor de Manutenção de Computadores - que mostrou que uma articulação entre a teoria e a prática no processo de ensino-aprendizagem pode superar o desestímulo dos estudantes e evitar a repetência e a evasão escolar -, propomos uma nova grade curricular, mais adequada aos jovens e adultos do PROEJA. Na dimensão teórica buscamos analisar a constituição da Educação de Jovens e Adultos como campo pedagógico e o caráter mediador da educação por meio da práxis educativa relativa à Educação de Jovens e Adultos. Foi necessário, ainda, fundamentar teoricamente o ensino médio integrado ao ensino técnico e a politecnia - que representa um estágio avançado no processo de integração. Temos ciência de que o desenho curricular proposto é um primeiro passo na busca da formação integrada, mas se constitui um passo importante para a ressignificação das experiências dos jovens e adultos do Curso Técnico em Informática do PROEJA
