    HEALTH PROMOTION MODEL: PEER HEALTH EDUCATION TOWARD DECREASING RISK OF DIABETES MELLITUS TYPE II

    Objective: The increased number of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) disease over years, we suggest the effort to make primary prevention in community groups. Peer Health Education (PHE) can be used as a method for promoting health in these community groups. Through PHE, it is expected that community groups that have the risk of DM disease can improve knowledge about healthy lifestyle behavior and conduct behavior change to achieve optimal health degree and avoid DM disease. The objectives of the research are to analyze knowledge of cadre before and after education, to analyze knowledge of housewife before and after education, and to analyze the risk of DM before and after education using PHE. Methods: The research design used queasy experiments, the number of research subjects is 119 people. Data was analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The result of research showed that there was a difference of knowledge of cadre before and after education, there was a difference of knowledge of housewife before and after education, and there was a decrease of DM risk factor before and after education using PHE model. Conclusion: Health promotion model is effective in reducing the risk factor of DM type II through food management and exercise to decrease body mass index and abdominal circumference. Suggestions for health agencies always provide efforts and training to generate cadre motivation and encourage cadres to always be positive toward the risk of health problems in the main community against the prevention of non-communicable diseases (DM)

    PLAY THERAPY INFLUENCES AUTISTIC BEHAVIOR ON CHILDREN WITH AUTISM

    Introduction: Autistic has excessive behavior, deficient behavior, or no level behavior. Purpose the research is to identify the influence of play therapy to autistic behavior on children with autism. Method: This is a pre-experimental with one group pre-post test design. 15 Children with autism were conducted on this research and autistic behavior measure before and after given play therapy. Result: The result showed that before given play therapy, most of respondents (53%) are moderate, almost half of them (40%) are mild and some of them (7%) are severe on autistic behavior. After given it, most of respondents (53%) are mild and the others (47%) are moderate. Based on Paired T test result (Ī±=0,05), autistic behavior on Pre and Post play therapy has showed significant value 0,000. Discussion: It is meant that there is influence of play therapy to autistic behavior on children with autism.     PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN TOILET LEARNING TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN IBU PADA ANAK USIA TODDLER DI PAUD MAWAR RW 06 KELURAHAN TLOGOMAS MALANG

    Education of the toilet learning is a learning process and one of the form of treatment intervention of the toilet learning through training programs on the toilet learning to enhance knowledge mother in toilet learning. This study aims to know the effect (the influence) of the giving of health education to the knowledge mother in toilet learning on toddler age children in PAUD Mawar RW 06 Village of Tlogomas Malang. Research design used pre-experimental that is one-group pre-post test design. Population is all the mothers who have the toddler age children in PAUD Mawar RW 06 Village of Tlogomas Malang as many as 35 people. The sample in this study as many as 14 people. Sampling with accidental sampling. Data were analyzed by using paired T-test with a significance level (0,05). The knowledge of mother in toilet learning before being given health education in the enough category as many as 10 people (71.4%) and less category is 4 people (28.6%), while after the education given in the good category as many as 12 people (85.7% ) and enough category is 2 people (14.3%). The result of analysis showed p value = 0.00 means p value < (0,05). It means that there is the effect of giving of the toilet learning health education on knowledge mother on toddler age children in PAUD Mawar RW 06 Village of Tlogomas Malang. Suggestions that can be recommended for further researcher, if they want to do research/study about mother knowledge in toilet learning should the age of children under 18 months in order to get maximum result

    Effectiveness of Problem Based Learning Model toward Biology Learning Outcomes

    This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness Problem Based Learning toward Biology learning outcomes in the subject of Basic Nursing Science I. The research design was true experimental design. The population in this study was the first-grade students in Nursing Sciences Study Program in Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Bali. Purposive sampling technique was applied to select the sample size in experimental and control group. There were 162 respondents included in this study. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistic and independent sample T-Test. The result showed that the average of post-test in control group was 67.01 Ā± 7.53 and average of post-test in the experimental group was 80.16 Ā± 5.92 (p < 0.05). It could be concluded that Problem Based Learning Model is more effective than a conventional model. It can be used for the alternative model in learning which can improve studentā€™s ability in critical thinking and the learning outcomes of Biology in subject Basic Nursing Science I
