    A Maternity Hospital in Shenyang Indoor Environment Performance Influence Factor Analysis

    AbstractIn recent years, the city air pollution level of PM2.5, ozone, nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxides in our country occupies first place. Indoor environmental problems caused by outdoor air pollution are increasingly significant. Indoor environment of hospital which is a special public building has special requirement. The feature of maternity hospital is crowded, heavy energy consumption, weakness of maternal and neonate, generate the sick and the patients need the better indoor environment quality. Therefore, this paper takes hospital building as research object by using questionnaire method, which analyzes the indoor comprehensive environmental performance of hospital, such as the air quality, the thermal environment, the light environment, and the acoustic environment. Results show that most of the patients is satisfied with the indoor comprehensive environmental performance of hospital, and only a small part is dissatisfied with the sound environment and the outdoor vision. This paper provides a research base for establishing a complete evaluation system and method of comprehensive indoor environmental performance of maternity hospital, which will help in building environmental monitoring systems and improving the level of public participation in the construction of hospital management

Metode sementasi yang sederhana adalah dengan operasi pengambangan (thresholding). Operasi pengambangan menghasilkan citra biner, yang dalam hal ini objek yang diacu di-set berwarna putih sedangkan latar belakangnya di-set berwarna hitam (atau sebaliknya bergantung kasusnya). Makalah ini mempresentasikan penggunaan operasi pengambangan untuk melakukan segmentasi objek. Eksperimen dilakukan dengan menggunakan kakas MATLAB.     Identifying the Hydrogenated Planar Tetracoordinate Carbon: A Combined Experimental and Theoretical Study of CAl_4H and CAl_4H‾

    The chemical curiosity “planar tetracoordinate carbon” (ptC) has greatly broadened one’s knowledge of molecular bonding motifs apart from the traditional, tetrahedral, van't Hoff and LeBel’s concept. Synthesized ptC examples have been reported either in solid state or in the gas phase, where the ptC core is usually metalized or organometallized. Surprisingly, there has been no experimental report on hydrogenated ptC to date. A possible answer to this situation could be the “promiscuity” of hydrogen when binding to other elements, which frustrates the formation of stable ptC that is in competition with other structures. In this paper, we for the first time identified two hydrogenated ptC species, CAl_4H and CAl_4H-, based on a photoelectron spectroscopic and quantum chemical study. The favorable site-selectivity of hydrogen was shown to be the bridge of Al-Al bond rather than the terminus of Al, manifesting the thermodynamic preference of 17e/18e counting rule over the 15e/16e rule

    Zinc-blende and wurtzite GaAs quantum dots in nanowires studied using hydrostatic pressure

    We report both zinc-blende (ZB) and wurtzite (WZ) crystal phase self-assembled GaAs quantum dots (QDs) embedding in a single GaAs/AlGaAs core-shell nanowires (NWs). Optical transitions and single-photon characteristics of both kinds of QDs have been investigated by measuring photoluminescence (PL) and time-resolved PL spectra upon application of hydrostatic pressure. We find that the ZB QDs are of direct band gap transition with short recombination lifetime (~1 ns) and higher pressure coefficient (75-100 meV/GPa). On the contrary, the WZ QDs undergo a direct-to-pseudodirect bandgap transition as a result of quantum confinement effect, with remarkably longer exciton lifetime (4.5-74.5 ns) and smaller pressure coefficient (28-53 meV/GPa). These fundamentally physical properties are further examined by performing state-of-the-art atomistic pseudopotential calculations

    Coadministration of bedaquiline and pyrifazimine reduce exposure to toxic metabolite N-desmethyl bedaquiline

    Background: A new, effective anti-tuberculosis (TB) regimen containing bedaquiline (BDQ) and pyrifazimine (TBI-166) has been recommended for a phase IIb clinical trial. Preclinical drug–drug interaction (DDI) studies of the combination of BDQ and TBI-166 have been designed to support future clinical trials. In this study, we investigated whether a DDI between BDQ and TBI-166 affects the pharmacokinetics of BDQ.Methods: We performed in vitro quantification of the fractional contributions of the fraction of drug metabolism by individual CYP enzymes (fm) of BDQ and the inhibition potency of key metabolic pathways of TBI-166. Furthermore, we conducted an in vivo steady-state pharmacokinetics study in a murine TB model and healthy BALB/c mice.Results: The in vitro fm value indicated that the CYP3A4 pathway contributed more than 75% to BDQ metabolism to N-desmethyl-bedaquiline (M2), and TBI-166 was a moderate (IC50 2.65 µM) potential CYP3A4 inhibitor. Coadministration of BDQ and TBI-166 greatly reduced exposure to metabolite M2 (AUC0-t 76310 vs 115704 h ng/mL, 66% of BDQ alone), whereas the exposure to BDQ and TBI-166 did not changed. The same trend was observed both in healthy and TB model mice. The plasma concentration of M2 decreased significantly after coadministration of BDQ and TBI-166 and decreased further during treatment in the TB model.Conclusions: In conclusion, our results showed that the combination of BDQ and TBI-166 significantly reduced exposure to the toxic metabolite M2 by inhibiting the activity of the CYP3A4 pathway. The potential safety and efficacy benefits demonstrated by the TB treatment highly suggest that coadministration of BDQ and TBI-166 should be studied further

    The evaluation of JAK inhibitors on effect and safety in alopecia areata: a systematic review and meta-analysis of 2018 patients

    BackgroundJAK inhibitors treat various autoimmune diseases, but an updated systematic review in treating alopecia areata is currently lacking.ObjectiveEvaluate the specific efficacy and safety of JAK inhibitors in alopecia areata by systematic review and meta-analysis.MethodsEligible studies in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Clinical Trials up to May 30, 2022, were searched. We enrolled in randomized controlled trials and observational studies of applying JAK inhibitors in alopecia areata.Results6 randomized controlled trials with 1455 patients exhibited SALT50 (odd ratio [OR], 5.08; 95% confidence interval [CI], 3.49-7.38), SALT90 (OR, 7.40; 95% CI, 4.34-12.67) and change in SALT score (weighted mean difference [WSD], 5.55; 95% CI, 2.60-8.50) compared to the placebo. The proportion of 26 observational studies with 563 patients of SALT5 was 0.71(95% CI, 0.65-0.78), SALT50 was 0.54(95% CI 0.46-0.63), SALT90 was 0.33(95% CI, 0.24-0.42), and SALT score (WSD, -2.18; 95% CI, -3.12 to -1.23) compared with baseline. Any adverse effects occurred in 921 of 1508 patients; a total of 30 patients discontinued the trial owing to adverse reactions.LimitationsFew randomized controlled trials met the inclusion criteria and insufficiency of eligible data.ConclusionJAK inhibitors are effective in alopecia areata, although associated with an increased risk

    Preoperative radiomic signature based on CT images for noninvasive evaluation of localized nephroblastoma in pediatric patients

    BackgroundNephron sparing nephrectomy may not reduce the prognosis of nephroblastoma in the absence of involvement of the renal capsule, sinus vessels, and lymph nodes, However, there is no accurate preoperative noninvasive evaluation method at present.Materials and methods105 nephroblastoma patients underwent contrast-enhanced CT scan between 2013 and 2020 in our hospital were retrospectively collected, including 59 cases with localized stage and 46 cases with non-localized stage, and then were divided into training cohort (n= 73) and validation cohort (n= 32) according to the order of CT scanning time. After lesion segmentation and data preprocessing, radiomic features were extracted from each volume of interest. The multi-step procedure including Pearson correlation analysis and sequential forward floating selection was performed to produce radiomic signature. Prediction model was constructed using the radiomic signature and Logistic Regression classifier for predicting the localized nephroblastoma in the training cohort. Finally, the model performance was validated in the validation cohort.ResultsA total of 1652 radiomic features have been extracted, from which TOP 10 features were selected as the radiomic signature. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of the prediction model were 0.796, 0.795, 0.732 and 0.875 for the training cohort respectively, and 0.710, 0.719, 0.611 and 0.857 for the validation cohort respectively. The result comparison with prediction models composed of different machine learning classifiers and different parameters also manifest the effectiveness of our radiomic model.ConclusionA logistic regression model based on radiomic features extracted from preoperative CT images had good ability to noninvasively predict nephroblastoma without renal capsule, sinus vessel, and lymph node involvement

    Genetic Variations in Plasma Circulating DNA of HBV-Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients Predict Recurrence after Liver Transplantation

    BACKGROUND: Recurrence prediction of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT) present a great challenge because of a lack of biomarkers. Genetic variations play an important role in tumor development and metastasis. METHODS: Oligonucleotide microarrays were used to evaluate the genetic characteristics of tumor DNA in 30 HBV-related HCC patients who were underwent LT. Recurrence-related single-nucleotide polymorphism were selected, and their prognostic value was assessed and validated in two independent cohorts of HCC patients (N = 102 and N = 77), using pretransplant plasma circulating DNA. Prognostic significance was assessed by Kaplan-Meier survival estimates and log-rank tests. Multivariate analyses were performed to evaluate prognosis-related factors. RESULTS: rs894151 and rs12438080 were significantly associated with recurrence (P = .003 and P = .004, respectively). Multivariate analyses demonstrated that the co-index of the 2 SNPs was an independent prognostic factor for recurrence (P = .040). Similar results were obtained in the third cohort (N = 77). Furthermore, for HCC patients (all the 3 cohorts) exceeding Milan criteria, the co-index was a prognostic factor for recurrence and survival (P<.001 and P = .002, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated first that genetic variations of rs894151 and rs12438080 in pretransplant plasma circulating DNA are promising prognostic markers for tumor recurrence in HCC patients undergoing LT and identify a subgroup of patients who, despite having HCC exceeding Milan criteria, have a low risk of post-transplant recurrence

    Common and Specific Functional Activity Features in Schizophrenia, Major Depressive Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder

    Objectives: Schizophrenia (SZ), major depressive disorder (MDD), and bipolar disorder (BD) are serious mental disorders with distinct diagnostic criteria. They share common clinical and biological features. However, there are still only few studies on the common and specific brain imaging changes associated with the three mental disorders. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify the common and specific functional activity and connectivity changes in SZ, MDD, and BD.Methods: A total of 271 individuals underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging: SZ (n = 64), MDD (n = 73), BD (n = 41), and healthy controls (n = 93). The symptoms of SZ patients were evaluated by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were used to evaluate the symptoms of MDD patients. The BDI, BAI, and Young Mania Rating Scale were used to evaluate the symptoms of MDD and BD patients. In addition, we compared the fALFF and functional connectivity between the three mental disorders and healthy controls using two sample t-tests.Results: Significantly decreased functional activity was found in the right superior frontal gyrus, middle cingulate gyrus, left middle frontal gyrus, and decreased functional connectivity (FC) of the insula was found in SZ, MDD, and BD. Specific fALFF changes, mainly in the ventral lateral pre-frontal cortex, striatum, and thalamus were found for SZ, in the left motor cortex and parietal lobe for MDD, and the dorsal lateral pre-frontal cortex, orbitofrontal cortex, and posterior cingulate cortex in BD.Conclusion: Our findings of common abnormalities in SZ, MDD, and BD provide evidence that salience network abnormality may play a critical role in the pathogenesis of these three mental disorders. Meanwhile, our findings also indicate that specific alterations in SZ, MDD, and BD provide neuroimaging evidence for the differential diagnosis of the three mental disorders
