    Blockchain-assisted Twin Migration for Vehicular Metaverses: A Game Theory Approach

    As the fusion of automotive industry and metaverse, vehicular metaverses establish a bridge between the physical space and virtual space, providing intelligent transportation services through the integration of various technologies, such as extended reality and real-time rendering technologies, to offer immersive metaverse services for Vehicular Metaverse Users (VMUs). In vehicular metaverses, VMUs update vehicle twins (VTs) deployed in RoadSide Units (RSUs) to obtain metaverse services. However, due to the mobility of vehicles and the limited service coverage of RSUs, VT migration is necessary to ensure continuous immersive experiences for VMUs. This process requires RSUs to contribute resources for enabling efficient migration, which leads to a resource trading problem between RSUs and VMUs. Moreover, a single RSU cannot support large-scale VT migration. To this end, we propose a blockchain-assisted game approach framework for reliable VT migration in vehicular metaverses. Based on the subject logic model, we first calculate the reputation values of RSUs considering the freshness of interaction between RSUs and VMUs. Then, a coalition game based on the reputation values of RSUs is formulated, and RSU coalitions are formed to jointly provide bandwidth resources for reliable and large-scale VT migration. Subsequently, the RSU coalition with the highest utility is selected. Finally, to incentivize VMUs to participate in VT migration, we propose a Stackelberg model between the selected coalition and VMUs.     Resilience and Cognitive Bias in Chinese Male Medical Freshmen

    BackgroundPsychological resilience has become a hot issue in positive psychology research. However, little is known about cognitive bias difference of individuals with different resilience levels. This study aimed to explore the characteristics of cognitive bias and its role in Chinese medical freshmen with different resilience levels.Methods312 Chinese medical freshmen were surveyed by the Chinese version of Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale, 92 of whom were, respectively, allocated into high (n = 46) and low (n = 46) resilient group to complete computerized tests using an attentional shifting task and an emotional picture recognition task.ResultsAll participants had the highest recognition accuracy toward negative pictures compared to neutral and positive ones. By comparison, it was found that the high-resilient group had a longer recognition response time toward positive emotional pictures, but a shorter response time toward negative emotional pictures, while the low-resilient group had a longer response time toward negative emotional pictures.ConclusionThis study pointed to the association between resilience and cognitive bias. Medical freshmen with different resilience levels showed significant differences in the cognitive bias toward emotional pictures, suggesting that reducing negative cognitive bias and promoting positive cognitive bias could be important targets to increase resilience

    Enhancing growth, liver health, and bile acid metabolism of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) through combined cholesterol and bile acid supplementation in plant-based diets

    The present study aimed to compare the nutritional effects of cholesterol, bile acids, and combination of cholesterol with bile acids in plant-based diets on juvenile genetically improved farmed tilapia (GIFT; Oreochromis niloticus). The isonitrogenous (321 g/kg crude protein) and isolipidic (76 g/kg crude fat) diets (Con diet) were based on plant protein sources, which included corn gluten meal, soybean meal, cottonseed meal and rapeseed meal. The Con diet was supplemented with 12 g/kg cholesterol (CHO diet), 0.2 g/kg bile acids (BAs diet), a combination of 12 g/kg cholesterol and 0.2 g/kg bile acids (CHO–BAs diet), respectively. Each diet was fed to three tanks in an indoor recirculating aquaculture system for 9 weeks. Results showed that compared to the Con group, fish had a higher weight gain rate, hepatosomatic index, and a lower feed conversion ratio in the CHO–BAs group. The highest levels of whole-fish fat and ash were found in the Con group. Serum parameters, including activities of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST), along with levels of glucose (GLU) and triglyceride (TG) except for total cholesterol (TCHO), were lower in the CHO, BAs, and CHO–BAs groups than those in the Con group (P < 0.001). Histological examination revealed that fish in the Con group exhibited severe hepatocyte vacuolization and diminished hepatocyte proliferation. Gene expression analysis indicated that the transcriptional levels of bile acid metabolism-related genes (including fxr, fgf19, bsep) were up-regulated in the CHO–BAs group (P < 0.05), whereas cholesterol metabolism-related genes (acly and hmgcr) were down-regulated in both CHO and CHO–BAs groups (P < 0.001). Moreover, UPLC-MS/MS analysis revealed that the higher taurine-conjugated bile acids (T-BAs), followed by free bile acids (Free-BAs) and glycine (G-BAs) were determined in tilapia bile. Among these, taurochenodeoxycholic bile acid was the predominant bile acid. Dietary bile acids supplementation also increased the proportion of T-BAs (tauro β-muricholic acid and taurodehydrocholic acid) while decreasing Free-BAs in the fish bile. In conclusion, the incorporation of cholesterol with bile acids into plant-based diets can effectively reduce cholesterol uptake, suppress bile acids synthesis, enhance bile acids efflux, and promote hepatocyte proliferation, which is helpful for maintaining the normal liver morphology in tilapia, and thus improving its growth performance

    <p>A new and efficient protocol for the P, O chelate Pd(II)/AgNO<sub>3</sub> cocatalyzed oxidative homocoupling reaction of aromatic terminal alkynes in the synthesis of symmetrical 1,4-disubstituted-1,3-diynes was described in aqueous media under ambient atmosphere. The results showed that both NEt<sub>3</sub> and THF/H<sub>2</sub>O (in 4:1 proportion) played crucial roles in the reaction. In contrast, this protocol employs a low palladium(II) complex loading and AgNO<sub>3</sub> as cocatalyst to obtain the homocoupled products in moderate to good yields.</p

    Efficient synthesis of fluoro-containing liquid crystal materials via Pd-catalysed room temperature aerobic Suzuki reactions in aqueous media

    <div><p>A series of fluoro-containing liquid crystal materials were synthesised at room temperature under aerobic conditions in excellent yields starting from fluoro-containing phenylboronic acids with aryl halides in the presence of a simple hydrophilic <i>trans</i>-PdCl<sub>2</sub>(NH<sub>2</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>COOH)<sub>2</sub> as catalyst via aqueous media Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. Details relevant to the above reactions and to the reaction sequences adopted to get the corresponding fluoro-containing liquid crystal materials are presented. The structures of above catalyst and liquid crystal materials were characterised by element analyses, electrospray mass spectra, <sup>1</sup>H NMR and <sup>13</sup>C NMR.</p></div
