    Calvarial cavernous lymphangioma is an extremely rare disease entity with only a few reports. Lymphangiomas are frequently encountered neck and long bone but it may also seen in many part of the body and many tips of the lymphangioma have been identified. Several treatment options have been defined but local recurrence is still a big problem. In the pediatric population, postoperative skull defects may frequently require cranioplasty. Allografts or autologous bone grafts may be used for cranioplasty. A four-month-old male patient was hospitalized due to a painless head mass, which was revealed as a soft tissue lesion located in calvarial diploe or extracranial lesion with outer calcified shell on the cranial computed tomography. The patient underwent surgical resection, pathologically confirmed as cavernous lymphangioma. We report this case with imaging findings and review of literatures

    Energy Performance and Comfort Level in High Rise and Highly Glazed Office Buildings

    Thermal and visual comfort in buildings play a significant role on occupants' performance but on the other hand achieving energy savings and high comfort levels can be a quite difficult task especially in high rise buildings with highly glazed facades. Many studies suggest that the energy needed to keep the interior conditions at required comfort levels in buildings depends on several factors such as physical and optical properties of building elements, indoor and outdoor climate and behaviour of the occupants, etc. Moreover depending on the different orientation of building facade, the impact of these parameters might vary. The buildings are usually designed without paying much attention to this fact. The needs of each building zone might differ greatly and in order to achieve better indoor environment, different actions might be needed to taken considering the individual characteristics of each zone. In the proposed research the possibilities of evaluating building energy and comfort performance simultaneously taking into account the impact of facade orientation with use of whole building energy simulation tools are investigated through a case study

    Study of Eclipsing Binary and Multiple Systems in OB Associations II. The Cygnus OB Region: V443 Cyg, V456 Cyg and V2107 Cyg

    Three presumably young eclipsing binary systems in the direction of the Cygnus OB1, OB3 and OB9 associations are studied. Component spectra are reconstructed and their orbits are determined using light curves and spectra disentangling techniques. V443 Cyg and V456 Cyg have circular orbits, while the light curve of V2107\,Cyg imposes a slightly eccentric orbit (e=0.045±0.03)e=0.045\pm0.03). V443 Cyg harbours F-type stars, and not young early-A stars as previously suggested in the literature based on photometry solely. It appears to be situated in the foreground (distance 0.6±0.20.6\pm0.2 kpc) of the young stellar populations in Cygnus. V456 Cyg, at a distance of 0.50±0.030.50\pm0.03 kpc consists of a slightly metal-weak A--type and an early--F star. The age of both systems, on or very near to the main sequence, remains uncertain by an order of magnitude. V2107 Cyg is a more massive system (8.9±28.9\pm2 and 4.5±1.2M4.5\pm1.2 M_\odot) at 1.5±0.51.5\pm0.5 kpc and, also kinematically, a strong candidate-member of Cyg OB1. The more massive component is slightly evolved and appears to undergo non-radial βCep\beta Cep-type pulsations. The Doppler signal of the secondary is barely detectable. A more extensive study is important to fix masses more precisely, and an asteroseismological study would then become appropriate. Nevertheless, the position of the primary in the HR-diagram confines the age already reasonably well to 20±520\pm5 Myr, indicating for Cyg OB1 a similar extent of star formation history as established for Cyg OB2.Comment: 27 pages, including 9 figures and 6 tables, accepted for publication in Astronomical Journa

    Changing the bonding force of impression tray to edentulous maxillary jaw simulator with impression valve system: In vitro study

    Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of an impression valve system (IVS) on the bonding force between an  impression tray and an edentulous maxillary jaw.Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study, a polyether.coated maxillary jaw simulator (PM) was used to model an edentulous maxillary jaw. The IVS was placed into individual impression trays. An irreversible hydrocolloid impression was taken of the PM when the IVS was open and closed. The impression tray bonding force was measured using a digital dynamometer. Student's t.test was used to determine the significance of the difference between these two groups.Results: The impression tray was more easily separated from the PM when the IVS was open (108 ± 3.9 N). The separation was more difficult when the IVS was closed (153.7 ±14.2 N). The difference between these two findings (P = 0.000) was significant.Conclusion: The use of an IVS facilitates the removal of the impression tray from the mouth when taking impressions from an edentulous maxillary jaw.Key words: Bonding force, impression tray, maxillary ja

    Determination of fatty acid composition in seed oils of some important berry species and genotypes grown in Tokat Province of Turkey

    This study was conducted to determine fatty acid composition in seed oils of four rose hips genotypes (Rosa canina L.), one Rosa montana L., one elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.) and guelder rose genotypes (Wiburnum opulus L.) growing in Tokat ecological conditions. As such, fatty acid contents were determined by GC. According to the findings, the amount and kinds of fatty acid contents in all fruit varieties and genotypes showed significant differences. It was determined that oleic acid and linoleic acid levels of all genotypes varied from 5,784 to 51,740% and 6,228 to 43,210%, respectively. In addition, it was determined by the findings of this study that palmitic acid and docosaheksaenoic acid (DHA) of these genotypes were similarly found as 1.183 to 7.702%, but no linolenic acid (ω-3) was found in some genotypes. Thus, linoleic acid level of Ar-11 genotype was higher (43.210%) than the others.Key words: Rosa canina, Rosa montana, elderberry, guelder rose, fatty acid composition

    Developmental Premorbid Body Mass Index Trajectories of Adolescents With Eating Disorders in a Longitudinal Population Cohort

    Objective: To examine whether childhood body mass index (BMI) trajectories are prospectively associated with later eating disorder (ED) diagnoses. / Method: Using a subsample from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (N = 1,502), random-coefficient growth models were used to compare premorbid BMI trajectories of individuals who later developed anorexia nervosa (n = 243), bulimia nervosa (n = 69), binge-eating disorder (n = 114), and purging disorder (n = 133) and a control group without EDs or ED symptoms (n = 966). BMI was tracked longitudinally from birth to 12.5 years of age and EDs were assessed at 14, 16, and 18 years of age. / Results: Distinct developmental trajectories emerged for EDs at a young age. The average growth trajectory for individuals with later anorexia nervosa veered significantly below that of the control group before 4 years of age for girls and 2 years for boys. BMI trajectories were higher than the control trajectory for all other ED groups. Specifically, the mean bulimia nervosa trajectory veered significantly above that of controls at 2 years for girls, but boys with later bulimia nervosa did not exhibit higher BMIs. The mean binge-eating disorder and purging disorder trajectories significantly diverged from the control trajectory at no older than 6 years for girls and boys. / Conclusion: Premorbid metabolic factors and weight could be relevant to the etiology of ED. In anorexia nervosa, premorbid low weight could represent a key biological risk factor or early manifestation of an emerging disease process. Observing children whose BMI trajectories persistently and significantly deviate from age norms for signs and symptoms of ED could assist the identification of high-risk individuals
