New and interesting records of Brazilian bryophytes

This paper presents data on morphology, ecology and distribution of 16 species of bryophytes collected in Pernambuco, Brazil, that are interesting floristic records. Notothylasorbicularis (Schwein.) Sull. is new to Brazil, 11 species are new to the Northeast region of Brazil and 4 species are new to Pernambuco.Dados morfológicos, ecológicos e de distribuição geográfica são apresentados para 16 espécies de briófitas coletadas no Estado de Pernambuco, Brasil. Notothylas orbicularis (Schwein.) Sull. é registrada pela primeira vez para o Brasil, 11 espécies são novas para a região Nordeste e 4 para o Estado de Pernambuco

Bryophytes from Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil

Foram listadas 74 espécies de briófitas para a cidade de Manaus, Amazonas, sendo 41 espécies de musgos distribuídos em 24 gêneros e 15 famílias e 33 hepáticas em 17 gêneros e sete famílias. Destas, 17 espécies de briófitas são ocorrências novas para Manaus e para o estado do Amazonas. T. ligulaefolium (Bartr.) Buck é uma ocorrência nova para o Brasil. São apresentadas associações com outras briófitas e comparação com outras espécies urbanas.This survey lists 74 species of bryophytes from Manaus, Amazonas, namely, 41 species of mosses distributed in 24 genera and 15 families and 33 liverworts in 17 genera and seven families, of which, 17 species are new occurrences to Manaus. T. Ligulaefolium (Bartr.) Buck is new occurrence to Brazil. Associations with other bryophytes and comparison with other regions are presented

The generalized Empirical Interpolation Method: stability theory on Hilbert spaces with an application to the Stokes equation

International audienceThe Generalized Empirical Interpolation Method (GEIM) is an extension first presented in [1] of the classical empirical interpolation method (see [2], [3], [4]) where the evaluation at interpolating points is replaced by the evaluation at interpolating continuous linear functionals on a class of Banach spaces. As outlined in [1], this allows to relax the continuity constraint in the target functions and expand the application domain. A special effort has been made in this paper to understand the concept of stability condition of the generalized interpolant (the Lebesgue constant) by relating it in the first part of the paper to an inf-sup problem in the case of Hilbert spaces. In the second part, it will be explained how GEIM can be employed to monitor in real time physical experiments by combining the acquisition of measurements from the processes with their mathematical models (parameter-dependent PDE's). This idea will be illustrated through a parameter dependent Stokes problem in which it will be shown that the pressure and velocity fields can efficiently be reconstructed with a relatively low dimension of the interpolating spaces

Flora da serra do cipó, Minas Gerais: briófitas (Anthocerotophyta, Bryophyta e Marchantiophyta)

In Brazil the bryophyte researches are working in yours states of origin. There are several small floristic works to Brazil but works with a big number of species with descriptions and illustration for all taxa are few. The Serra do Cipó is a high diversity region, and the bryophyte floristic treatment inside the Fanerogamic Flora plan is a great opportunity. This treatment include 237 species and four varieties, distributed in two families, two genera and two species of Anthocerotophyta, 34 families, 67 genera e 142 species and four varieties of Bryophyta and 21 families, 47 genera and 93 species of Marchantiophyta.O Brasil conta com poucos trabalhos de levantamento de briófitas sendo que os pesquisadores existentes estão empenhados em realizar levantamentos florísticos no estado onde estão radicados, existem vários pequenos tratamentos florísticos para o território nacional, porém trabalhos que trazem grande número de espécies e providenciam chaves descrições e ilustrações são raros. A Serra do Cipó pertence a uma região de alta diversidade e, a existência de um plano para a preparação da Flora é uma ótima oportunidade de providenciar um tratamento que envolve um grande número de espécies e de divulgar a diversidade das briófitas brasileiras. Estão sendo apresentadas 237 espécies e quatro variedades, sendo agrupados em duas famílias, dois gêneros e duas espécies de Anthocerotophyta, 34 famílias, 67 gêneros e 142 espécies e quatro variedade de Bryophyta e 21 famílias, 47 gêneros e 93 espécies de Marchantiophyta

Novas Ocorrências de Briófitas para os Estados de Alagoas e Sergipe, Brasil

Sixty eigth bryophytes species are recorded for Alagoas and Sergipe states, 38 mosses and 30 liverworts. For Alagoas state 26 mosses and 10 liverworts are mentioned, and for Sergipe State 12 mosses and 20 liverworts. From total species studied 49 are new records (28-Alagoas and 21-Sergipe) and 19 are cited for new sites in every one of the states (eight-Alagoas and 11-Sergipe).Foram encontradas 68 espécies de briófitas para os estados de Alagoas e Sergipe, sendo 38 musgos e 30 hepáticas. Para Alagoas são citados 26 musgos e 10 hepáticas e para Sergipe 12 musgos e 20 hepáticas. Do total de espécies estudadas, 49 são primeiras referências (28-Alagoas e 21-Sergipe) e as demais 19 espécies tiveram a distribuição geográfica ampliada em cada um dos estados (oito-Alagoas e 11-Sergipe)

Se describen e ilustran cuatro nuevas citas de la familia Lejeuneaceae para el Brasil: Drepanolejeunea pinnatiloba Schiffn., Lejeunea elliottii Spruce, Lejeunea filipes Spruce y Lopholejeunea quelchii Steph. Adições à Brioflora do Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, Minas Gerais, Brasil

O presente estudo trata das briófitas do Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, coletadas por diferentes pesquisadores e depositadas no Herbário Maria Eneyda P. Kauffmann Fidalgo (SP). São reportados 238 táxons de briófitas, dos quais 136 são hepáticas (em 16 famílias) e 102 são musgos (em 25 famílias), sendo 30 novas referências para o estado de Minas Gerais (09 espécies de musgos e 21 espécies de hepáticas). Aspectos ecológicos de briofitas em areas preservadas de mata atlantica, Rio Janeiro, Brasil

This paper aims at comparing the continental (Mangaratiba) and insular (Ilha Grande) bryoflora in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The floristic survey of these areas has resulted in the identification of 231 bryophyte species, the similarity index being 69%. The highest index of specific diversity occurs in a track that is not under the influence of local human activity. The bryoflora is represented by families typical of tropical rain forests such as Lejeuneaceae, which also presents the highest index of specific diversity. The majority of the species presents rare absolute frequency, and is saxicolous, umbraticolous and ombrophilous. Nevertheless, these characteristics are not limiting as morphological adaptations allow for the colonization of different environments and substrates.Neste trabalho são comparadas as briofloras continental (Mangaratiba) e insular (Ilha Grande) de Mata Atlântica do estado do Rio de Janeiro. O inventário florístico dessas áreas resultou na identificação de 231 espécies de briófitas, sendo 69% o índice de similaridade entre elas. O maior índice de diversidade específica ocorre em uma trilha que não sofre influência das atividades antrópicas locais. A brioflora estudada está representada por famílias típicas das florestas tropicais úmidas como por exemplo, Lejeuneaceae, que também apresenta a maior riqueza específica. A maioria das espécies, apresenta freqüência absoluta muito rara e é saxícola, umbrófila e ombrófila, embora estas características não sejam limitantes, pois adaptações morfológicas permitem a colonização de ambientes e substratos diferentes
