This paper aims to reflect on stories of school violence, in the context of the pandemic. For which, some of the most significant experiences experienced in the extension project Bodies, social ties and coexistences. promoting healthy links in schools in unequal environments. It was developed during the years 2019 to 2021, directed by Esp. Adriana Denegri, and is made up of teachers, assigns, graduates and students of the Bachelor’s Degree and the Professor in Psychology, of the National University of La Plata, including agents of multiple public high schools. From the methodological point of view, a qualitative orientation will be deployed, of an exploratory descriptive nature, under the modality of a single case study and with the construction of a theoretical framework that articulates Critical Epistemology, the socio-cultural approach in psychology, from the perspective of Yrjö Engeström, and emancipatory pedagogy, from the hand of authors such as Paulo Freire, Philippe Merieu and Alejandro Cussiánovich, with other conceptual tools. In this way, the article that is presented will provide clues and traces of some modes of de-centering of knowledge, and various questions will remain open, such as what possibilities do these modes of de-centering enable in the stories of violence in public schools?Facultad de Psicologí

A Comparative Analysis on Volatility and Scalability Properties of Blockchain Compression Protocols

Increasing popularity of trading digital assets can lead to significant delays in Blockchain networks when processing transactions. When transaction fees become miners' primary revenue, an imbalance in reward may lead to miners adopting deviant mining strategies. Scaling the block capacity is one of the potential approaches to alleviate the problem. To address this issue, this paper reviews and evaluates six state-of-the-art compression protocols for Blockchains. Specifically, we designed a Monte Carlo simulation to simulate two of the six protocols to observe their compression performance under larger block capacities. Furthermore, extensive simulation experiments were conducted to observe the mining behaviour when the block capacity is increased. Experimental results reveal an interesting trade-off between volatility and scalability. When the throughput is higher than a critical point, it worsens the volatility and threatens Blockchain security. In the experiments, we further analyzed the relationship between volatility and scalability properties with respect to the distribution of transaction values. Based on the analysis results, we proposed the recommended maximum block size for each protocol. At last, we discuss the further improvement of the compression protocols

Marine riser vortex induced vibration (VIV) suppression device

Vortex-Induced Vibration (VIV) is a common phenomenon that occurred in the oil and gas industry and become one of the main concerns for the engineers while designing the riser system. Thus, this research represents the analysis of the vortex-induced motion of the circular cylindrical by using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) ANSYS CFX. The simulation was carried out in two-dimensional with the stationary condition. The bare cylinder was used as the reference for this research while the graph Strouhal number versus Reynolds number as the validation. The validation by using the Strouhal number is the common practice for the stationary circular cylinder simulation and Strouhal frequency obtained from this research was St ≈ 0.2. The simulation process was executed by using the ANSYS CFX Solver to simulate the cylinder and to identify the vortex shedding and also its magnitudes. The turbulent model used in this simulation is Detached Eddy Simulation and the vortices created at the back of the cylinder as well as the flow separation can be monitored through post-processor. Generally, when the fluid flow passed through the bluff body, it will excite by the forces and caused the vortices shed. These vortices will separate periodically asymmetrically from either side of the body caused the time varying non-uniform pressure distribution around it. This non-uniform pressure will create in both inline and transverse to the flow. By having the idea of parallel plates attached to the cylinder, it will help the flow separation become streamline as well as reduce the VIV on the marine riser. In addition, the Reynolds number is believed will give some significant effect on the behavior of VIV

This Final Master's Project consists of an artistic investigation on the representation of insects and consists of two parts. In the first one I will try to reveal the causes that make the realistic representation of insects not one of the most popular and, in many cases, even generate negative reactions in humans. In this regard, I will make an analysis of texts by authors who have already dealt with the subject, and I will add my own contributions inferred from reading and experience. Finally, i will analyze the current situation in this regard. In the second, I will propose a new form of scientific dissemination through a card game whose illustrations will be naturalistic. In this section there will be a selection of insects, a field notebook with the illustrations made in the laboratory, the final naturalistic illustrations and the design of the cards
