This thesis is the result of research describing how the perception of Badan Otonom Pelajar Islam Indonesia (BO PII) Wati on crosshijabers news on Cnnindonesia.com. The presence of crosshijabers or men dressed in syar'i is considered unsettling because it can gives a bad stigma for Muslim women. Therefore, researchers are interested in raising the title "Perception of the Badan Otonom Pelajar Islam Indonesia (BO PII) Wati Sumsel Against Crosshijabers news at Cnnindonesia.com" as research material. This research aims to answer the question of how the perception of the Badan Otonom Pelajar Islam Indonesia (BO PII) Wati of crosshijabers news on Cnnindonesia.com and the factors that influence it. The research methodology used is a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by direct interviews with informants in this study, namely the management of Badan Otonom Pelajar Islam Indonesia (BO PII) Wati Sumsel. The results showed that the administrators of the Badan Otonom Pelajar Islam Indonesia (BO PII) Wati Sumsel had two forms of response that emerged, there are positive and negative responses. Factors that influence the perception of Badan Otonom Pelajar Islam Indonesia (BO PII) Wati on crosshijabers news on Cnnindonesia.com include the attention stage, and also the interpretation which includes the use of news, the level of news reading satisfaction, and also experience. The following are suggestions that the author proposes: For people who are media users to be wiser in receiving news. Effect of ZnS Dispersoid in Structural and Electrical Properties of Plasticized CA-NH4I

    Get PDF
AbstractPlasticized solid polymer electrolytes compose of cellulose acetate (CA) host polymer, ammonium iodide (NH4I) salt, propylene carbonate (PC) plasticizer were prepared by solution cast technique. The highest room temperature ionic conductivity (1.17 Ă— 10-4 S cm-1) was achieved for sample with composition of CA: 25wt. % NH4I: 40wt. % PC. The addition of zinc sulfide (ZnS) dispersoid ceramic filler to the highest conductivity of plasticized CA-NH4I system enhanced the ionic conductivity up to 6.24 Ă— 10-4 S cm-1 at room temperature. Attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy confirmed the complexation between polymer and salt. The disruption of the crystalline peaks of ZnS and NH4I on the X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of CA-NH4I, plasticized CA-NH4I and composited CA-NH4I-PC established the complexation between polymer and salt were takes place and reduce the crystallinity of the samples and hence increasing in ionic conductivity. The transference number suggested that the charge transport is predominantly due to ions

Determinants of financial leverage: the case of largest airlines in asia / Norliza Che Yahya, Hanizatul Nadia Harun and Azreen Roslan.

This study is developed to examine the determinants of financial leverage of capital structure of airlines industry in Asia for the period from 2012 to 2016. Airlines industry is selected as sample of this study as it reflects the highest energy intensive industry based on the largest amount of fuel consumption on the business (Bratlie, 2012). This study defined airline as an operation entity that provides services to carry people and freight by air with schedule routes provided. This study, using panel data analysis, reports that size and growth have a positive relationship to financial leverage. In contrast, profitability and age are negatively related. Regardless of the signs, all the explanatory variables in this study are strongly significant in determining financial leverage (measured by debt to equity ratio)

The role of literacy education in preventing the impact of fake news on government policies and socio-political Stability

    Get PDF
The aimed of this study is to explore how fake news through the media can disrupt socio-political stability and impede the implementation of various government policies that are being introduced, and how significant efforts are being made by all parties to ensure that hoax coverage does not spread through all lines of social life by providing a literacy education formula in the context of knowledge challenges that are difficult to address. It also analyzes how social media are used to construct strategies that can cloud the atmosphere of socio-political life and public morality, which seem to give priority to pro-people ethics, as is the case in Indonesia. In this study, a qualitative approach and post-truth theory are used as analytical perspectives in the interpretation of topics such as Covid-19 news and details in the presidential election contest of 2019. This study will also document how, through the mediation of hoax reporting through social media, online social media representations such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other personal messaging applications are explored. So, of course, based on the findings of the preliminary observations, there needs to be a strategy for creating new, shifting narratives about different government policies based on relevant references, since modern media have an influence on the social, cultural, and political landscape of life. A proper media literacy and literacy analysis must also be carried out to see if offline communities with limited internet connectivity no longer accept the notion of 'hoax opinion' established in Indonesia. Therefore, literacy education would be able to reveal false knowledge that has spread through society and will correct any myths in social life

The impact of GST on the spending pattern of students from the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM Puncak Alam, Selangor / Nadiah Abdul Hamid ... [et al.]

    Get PDF
The implementation of GST in Malaysia as of 1st April 2015, which replaced the current Sales and Service Tax (SST) is viewed as a more efficient tax to manage and to generate greater revenue collection for the government. This multi-tiered tax rate of 6 percent is finally borne by the end users who consumed the goods and services regardless of their income levels. As a result, even non-income earners such as students are inevitably bearing the rising price of their consumed goods and services. This study aimed to investigate the level of GST knowledge among the final year students in the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM Puncak Alam. The students’ knowledge and perception on issues related to GST implementation were found to have certain impacts on their spending pattern. Evidently, the findings revealed that students who have much information about GST implementation and in cases where they perceived that GST is an unfair and unequitable tax system, both situations are highly likely to have significant effects on their spending trend

Care-seeking patterns for fatal malaria in Tanzania.

    Get PDF
BACKGROUND\ud \ud Once malaria occurs, deaths can be prevented by prompt treatment with relatively affordable and efficacious drugs. Yet this goal is elusive in Africa. The paradox of a continuing but easily preventable cause of high mortality raises important questions for policy makers concerning care-seeking and access to health systems. Although patterns of care-seeking during uncomplicated malaria episodes are well known, studies in cases of fatal malaria are rare. Care-seeking behaviours may differ between these groups.\ud \ud METHODS\ud \ud This study documents care-seeking events in 320 children less than five years of age with fatal malaria seen between 1999 and 2001 during over 240,000 person-years of follow-up in a stable perennial malaria transmission setting in southern Tanzania. Accounts of care-seeking recorded in verbal autopsy histories were analysed to determine providers attended and the sequence of choices made as the patients' condition deteriorated.\ud \ud RESULTS\ud \ud As first resort to care, 78.7% of malaria-attributable deaths used modern biomedical care in the form of antimalarial pharmaceuticals from shops or government or non-governmental heath facilities, 9.4% used initial traditional care at home or from traditional practitioners and 11.9% sought no care of any kind. There were no differences in patterns of choice by sex of the child, sex of the head of the household, socioeconomic status of the household or presence or absence of convulsions. In malaria deaths of all ages who sought care more than once, modern care was included in the first or second resort to care in 90.0% and 99.4% with and without convulsions respectively.\ud \ud CONCLUSIONS\ud \ud In this study of fatal malaria in southern Tanzania, biomedical care is the preferred choice of an overwhelming majority of suspected malaria cases, even those complicated by convulsions. Traditional care is no longer a significant delaying factor. To reduce mortality further will require greater emphasis on recognizing danger signs at home, prompter care-seeking, improved quality of care at health facilities and better adherence to treatment
