A rare case of cervical dysgenesis presented with endometriosis and ectopic kidney

    Get PDF
Cervical dysgenesis is a rare cause of obstructive amenorrhoea. We are presenting a case of a 15-year-old girl presented with primary amenorrhoea diagnosed with cervical dysgenesis with left ectopic kidney and endometriosis. The patient underwent laparoscopy followed by exploratory laparotomy with total abdominal hysterectomy with left salpingectomy followed by neovaginal creation and right ureteric D-J stenting and vaginal mould insertion. Cervical agenesis treatment should aim at the re-establishment of patency of the outflow tract. A fistulous tract with stent placement has been done in some cases but eventually, hysterectomy is required in view of recurrent and severe pelvic infection is a common problem. Ovarian function can be preserved if a hysterectomy is performed timely

Background: Prolonged pregnancy or post-dated pregnancy is that pregnancy which has exceeded duration considered to be upper limit of normal pregnancy that is above 40 completed weeks or 280 days from the first day of last menstrual period. The objective was to evaluate the maternal and perinatal outcome of post-dated pregnancy. Methods: A prospective case control study was conducted on antenatal women for 18 months period from May 2014- October 2015 admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Era’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospital, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The study group was comprised of antenatal women having pregnancy beyond 40 weeks, and the control group was represented with antenatal women between 37-40 weeks admitted for delivery during this period. Results: The prevalence of post-dated pregnancy was found to be 17.6% and of post-term was 5.69%. Among post-dated subjects LSCS rate was 56.50% and in term (37-40 weeks) patient it was 34.18%. The NICU admission for birth asphyxia was 6.09% among term (37-40 weeks) patients and 17.6% in post-dated pregnancies. Conclusions: Any pregnancy that crosses expected date of delivery, Foetal well-being must be assessed and induction of labour should be considered to decrease the risk of perinatal morbidity and mortality

Enhanced Spam Detection System for Twitter Social Networking Platform

    Get PDF
Twitter social site is one of the most popular Online Social Networking Site (OSN) used by popular people such as Ministers, businessman, large companies, actors to share their information. In this site, around 500 million of tweets are posted monthly by the total 313 million Twitter active users. The widespread of Twitter has drawn the interest of spammers. These malicious actors exploit the platform for various nefarious purposes, including monitoring authentic users, disseminating harmful software, and promoting their agendas through URLs embedded in tweets. They engage in tactics like secret following and unfollowing legitimate users, all with the intent of gathering sensitive information. To resolve this problem, a secure spam detection based on machine learning approach is designed. The designed used stop word removal, word to vector model to refined and dimensionally reduced the data. To enhance the quality of the data Cosine similarity is also been applied to measure the similarity score among the tweets and based upon that Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is trained. Later on, it is used to test the efficiency by examining the performance parameters in terms of precision, recall and F-measure. Also, the comparative analysis has been performed to present the efficiency of the work. The average precision, recall and F measure of proposed spam detection model of 0.9252, 0.6107 and 0.734 are obtained

Multifaceted chikungunya infection in infants - A case series

Chikungunya is an epidemic viral disease. It is known to cause explosive outbreaks after disappearing for several years. Theclinical manifestations among infants are entirely different as compared to adults and older children. It can go undiagnosed in thegarb of sepsis unless strong clinical suspicion is present. We report a series of infants presenting with neurological, circulatory, andcutaneous manifestations

Gingival Melanin Depigmentation: A Review and Case Report

    Get PDF
The color of the gingiva has a tremendous impact on the esthetics of the smile. Clinically gingival melanin hyper pigmentation is presented as ‘black gum’ which is a common esthetic problem especially for those who have gummy smile. Several attempts have been made for removal of gingival pigmentation by different techniques. Each technique had its own supremacy in efficiency and also draw back. In the present cases, an effort has been made to assess the procedure of melanin depigmentation using surgical scalpel technique

Solitary Periosteal Osteoma of the Mandible : A case report

    Get PDF
Osteoma of the jaw bones is a rare entity with very few cases reported in the literature. Osteomas are benign, slow-growing osteogenic tumours of the bone commonly encountered in the craniofacial skeleton and characterised by the proliferation of compact or cancellous bone. They can be central, peripheral or extra-skeletal in their location. In the facial region, periosteal osteomas occur more frequently in the paranasal sinuses, but solitary periosteal osteomas of the jaw bones are quite rare. The mandible is more commonly affected than the maxilla, with the sites of predilection being the lingual aspect of the body, the angle and the inferior border. We report a case of a solitary periosteal osteoma on the buccal aspect of the mandible in a 42-year-old woman.

Sovereign green bonds as an unconventional tool to address climate change

    Get PDF
Creative efforts are necessary as global efforts seek to undertake projects focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. Among various financial products that provide funding for projects, green bonds, particularly sovereign green bonds (SGB or SGrB) issued with sovereign guarantees by central governments, have gained prominence. Proceeds from SGBs are used to finance green projects such as non-conventional and renewable energy projects, alternative energy solutions, greenhouse gas emission reduction, climate change mitigation, or reduced use of carbon-based energy sources. SGB will receive increasing global attention as governments attempt to meet UN climate change goals. This research uses descriptive research methodology to examine the evolution, operational aspects, challenges, and investor expectations associated with SGrBs by taking India as a case. The study period is taken from 2016 to 2023. It used a conceptual approach to discuss the market's evolution. The findings highlight how SGBs provide an unconventional way to link green finance with ecological priorities by combining fiscal policy, investment and science-based solutions. The insights are intended to inform future SGB frameworks and strategies to target funded green growth towards pressing global sustainability issues

    ADAPTIVE MEETING ROOM TEMPERATURE CONTROL

    Get PDF
Smart buildings are typically able to facilitate temperature controls in meeting rooms today by monitoring temperature within the rooms using sensors, thermostat devices, and the like. Presented herein are techniques through which room temperature can be adapted in a more dynamic manner, by accounting for the number of people in a room and heat from electronic devices either present in or carried into the room. This adaptive temperature control uses real-time factors that other solutions fail to include, thereby providing both improved comfort and reduced power consumption
