    Kota Malang telah tumbuh menjadi salah satu kota yang paling menjanjikan di Jawa Timur dengan peningkatan yang cukup pesat terjadi pada sektor ekonomi dan bangunan USAha (ruko dan rukan) yang dilakukan secara horizontal, sehingga menyebabkan kemacetan dan makin menipisnya lahan. Sebuah kantor sewa vertikal merupakan suatu fungsi ideal sebagai upaya pemaksimalan ruang dalam keterbatasan lahan. Kajian utama difokuskan pada pengolahan fasad bangunan kantor sewa mid-rise dengan konsep ekspos struktur tube untuk mewujudkan sebuah citra bangunan baru yang berkarakter. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif analitik dengan mengkompilasikan teori mengenai kantor sewa, fasad, ekspos struktur, dan struktur tube. Perancangan menghasilkan penerapan konsep ekspos struktur tube jenis tabung truss pada bagian eksterior dan kombinasi dengan sistem tabung dalam tabung pada bagian interior. Jenis stuktur ini dianggap cocok dengan konsep ekspos struktur dan fungsi kantor yang diwadahi, pemusatan kolom penyangga pada bagian terluar membuat ruang dalam sangat efektif dan memaksimalkan ruang sewa yang ada

    Kebun Raya Balikpapan dengan luas area 309,22 ha merupakan sebagian kecil dari 10.000 ha Hutan Lindung Sungai Wain di Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia, yang dialihfungsikan sebagai Kebun Raya. Salah satu peran Kebun Raya Balikpapan adalah penyedia jasa lingkungan diantaranya mengurangi terjadinya pemanasan global melalui penghasil biomassa dan menjaga cadangan karbon. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi besarnya biomassa dan cadangan karbon di Kebun Raya Balikpapan serta mengetahui persentase komponen hutan dalam menyumbang cadangan karbon. Data utama diambil dari Kebun Raya Balikpapan dengan menggunakan metode kombinasi jalur dan petak, sedangkan teknik penempatan petak contoh dilakukan secara terarah (purposive sampling). Setiap unit contoh diambil data pohon berdiri, necromass, tumbuhan bawah, serasah dan contoh tanah. Pendugaan potensi biomassa dan karbon pada pohon dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode non destruktif, sedangkan tumbuhan bawah dan serasah dilakukan dengan metode destruktif. Kebun Raya Balikpapan mempunyai peran yang besar dalam penyimpanan biomassa dan cadangan karbon. Rata-rata biomassa di Kebun Raya Balikpapan sebesar 203,42 ton/ha dan cadangan karbon sebesar 141,55 ton/ha. Total biomassa Kebun Raya Balikpapan sebesar 58.990,8 ton dan cadangan karbon sebesar 41.049,0 ton. Komponen terbesar penyumbang cadangan karbon adalah pohon hidup (48,50%) dan tanah (28,15%)

    A new route for the synthesis of La-Ca oxide supported on nano activated carbon via vacuum impregnation method for one pot esterification- transesterification reaction

    Advanced carbon nanorod promoted binary CaO-La2O3 system with improved physical properties, tailored surface morphology and chemistry were developed in vacuum-impregnating methods. The nanostructured catalyst (CaO–La2O3/AC nanocatalyst) was prepared to convert high FFA waste cooking oil into biodiesel via one step esterification-transesterification reaction. The novel catalyst was characterized by FTIR, SEM, XRD, TGA, BET, TPD-CO2 and TPD-NH3. The high catalytic activity of the nanocatalyst was mainly depends on the high acid and basic density of active sites that contributed from the synergic effect between mesoporous carbon and binary metallic system, which allowed more occurrence of simultaneous esterification-transesterification process of high FFA waste oil without additional pretreatment step. Result showed maximum 98.6±0.5% with acid value 0.4±0.5 mg KOH/g of triglyceride conversion under optimal condition at 3% of catalyst, methanol:oil ratio of 16:1, 100 °C within 4h of reaction. Furthermore, bi-metallic catalyst with stable carbon nanorod support capable to maintained high reusability with high FAME yield (> 98%) with low acid value (<0.5 mg KOH/g) for 5 cycles

    Strategy of Quality Improvement of Pond Shrimp Post Harvest Management (Penaeus monodon Fabricius) in Mahakam Delta (Case Study)

    Mahakam Delta area, which is situated in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, has become a pond center that gives a significant contribution to shrimp export of East Kalimantan Province. Pond-produced shrimps, however, do not always accord to the intention of cold storage companies at expected price. The companies even sometimes reject the request due to poor quality of the product. The decreasing shrimp quality may be due to maintenance process by the pond farmers as well as the improper collectors. In the other hand, importing countries have decided more and more restricted requirements for the imported fishing products. This study was held in Muara Jawa, Anggana, and Muara Badak Districts using techniques of data collection of in-depth interview with twelve respondents. In order to improve shrimp quality, farmers or the producers have to formulate a strategy towards the improvement of the post harvest shrimps from the pond using an Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Results of the AHP consist of as follows: (1) application of pond shrimp post harvest technology and improvement of facilities and accommodation that support the quality improvement of the pond shrimps, (2) human resource quality improvement of pond farmers, collectors, and field instructors, (3) development of pond culture by applying best practices principle and local policies in order to improve the quality of the pond shrimps, and (4) improvement of interagency coordination, monitoring, and evaluation to enhance the pond shrimp qualit
