Araştırma sonunda, BEP’in uygulanmasında ortaya çıkan engellerin; öğretmenlerin eğitim
eksikliği, araç-gereç eksikliği, fiziki alt yapı eksikliği, destek personelinin yetersizliği, yetersiz
fiziki yapı, yetersiz danışmanlık hizmetleri, mevzuattaki eksiklikler, öğretmen direnci ve veli
duyarsızlığı gibi etmenlerin olduğu bulgularına ulaşılmıştır
Bir köpekte gerçek hermafrodismus: Olgu sunumu
True hermaphroditism in a dog is described in this case report. An eight month old cross-breed dog with enlarged
structure protruding from the vulva was brought for an ovariohysterectomie operation. Physical examinations
exposed the presence of an os clitoris and urethral orifice at the base of the os clitoris. Exploratory laparotomy
was performed as a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. Both gonadal tissues and the genital tract were removed
during surgery and brought to the laboratory for pathological examinations. Microscopic examinations showed
that the right gonad had both seminiferous tubules like testis and primer follicles like ovarium. The
concentrations of serum progesterone, testosterone and 17β-estradiol were 0,188 ng/ml, 1,008 ng/ml and 23,61
pg/ml respectively. We concluded that this is a true hermaphrodismus case due to the simultaneous presence of
two sex gonads.
Before any electrical system is used in industrial applications, its behavior under different operating conditions must be studied. A mathematical model must be constructed beforehand in order to observe the behavior of the system under different conditions. Modeling of three-phase asynchronous motors with an electromechanical converter is very difficult due to the time varying current and voltage. While performing dynamic analysis of such motors, a common reference system must be determined. The most commonly used methods to facilitate the analysis of three-phase induction motors are Clarke-Park transforms. In this study, a visual interface has been prepared to ease the teaching of Clarke-Park transforms. The users are moved from the 3-phase (A,B,C) axis to the reference 2 phase (α,β) axis through the interface and to the (d,q) axis with the θ angle at the magnitudes defined in the (α,β) axis system. With the interface prepared, users can change the voltage, frequency and angle values and graphically observe their effect on Clarke and Park transforms. In addition, the conversion from 2-phase axis to 3-phase axis is made with inverse Clarke and Park transforms. Mathematical modeling of the transform and the interface were made using LabVIEW.Herhangi bir elektriksel sistem, endüstriyel uygulamalarda kullanılmadan önce farklı çalışma koşulları altında davranışlarının incelenmesi gerekmektedir.
Seismic assessment of a curved multi-span simply supported truss steel railway bridge
Fragility curve is an effective method to determine the seismic performance of a structural and nonstructural member. Fragility curves are derived for Highway Bridges for many studies. In Turkish railway lines, there are lots of historic bridges, and it is obvious that in order to sustain the safety of the railway lines, earthquake performance of these bridges needs to be determined. In this study, a multi-span steel truss railway bridge with a span length of 25.7m is considered. Main steel truss girders are supported on the abutments and 6 masonry piers. Also, the bridge has a 300m curve radius. Sap 2000 finite element software is used to model the 3D nonlinear modeling of the bridge. Finite element model is updating according to field test recordings. 60 real earthquake data selected from three different soil conditions are considered to determine the seismic performance of the bridge. Nonlinear time history analysis is conducted, and maximum displacements are recorded. Probabilistic seismic demand model (PSDMs) is used to determine the relationship between the Engineering Demand Parameter (EDP) and Intensity Measure (IMs). Fragility curve of the bridge is derived by considering the serviceability limit state, and results are discussed in detail
Incidence and predictors of radial artery injury following transradial procedures: Yet another benefit of renin–angiotensin system blockade?
Background: Vasodilatory function of radial artery (RA) declines following the transradial catheterization. However, it is uncertain whether impaired vasodilatory function develops in every patient. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence and predictive factors of impaired vasodilatory function following transradial procedures.
Methods: Consecutive patients undergoing elective transradial procedures were prospectively enrolled. Ultrasound examination of RA was recorded just before and 1 week after the procedure. RA diameters and flow velocities were measured at baseline, after flow mediated vasodilation (FMD) and after nitrate mediated vasodilation (NMD).
Results: Fifty-one patients were included (62 ± 11 years, 55% male, 41% hypertensive, 20% diabetic, 65% with coronary artery disease). Overall FMD and NMD were significantly impaired after 1 week. However, deterioration of FMD and NMD was observed in 67% and 71% of patients, respectively. Absolute change in FMD was significantly different in patients using a renin– angiotensin system (RAS) inhibitor compared to those who were not (1.9 ± 12.9 vs. –7.7 ± ± 12.7%, respectively, p = 0.025). Additionally, there was a moderate but significant correlation between baseline RA diameter and absolute change in NMD (r = 0.419, p < 0.001). RAS blockade was independently associated with protection against FMD deterioration (OR 0.241, 95% CI 0.066–0.883, p = 0.032), whereas RA diameter (OR 0.079, 95% CI 0.009–0.720, p = 0.024) and procedure time (OR 1.156, 95% CI 0.989–1.350, p = 0.068) were associated with NMD deterioration, although the latter had borderline significance.
Conclusions: Vasodilatory function of RA gets impaired in most patients following transradial procedures. RAS blockade seems to exert a protective role against deteriorating endothelium- dependent vasodilation, whereas smaller RA diameter and potentially longer procedure time are associated with impaired endothelium-independent vasodilation.
Infectious side effects of baricitinib: A big data analysis based on VigiBase
Dear Editor, Baricitinib (known as “Olumiant”), is an inhibitor of Janus- associated kinase 1 and 2 (JAK1 and JAK2) initially introduced for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and later for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and atopic dermatitis [1]. The first approval of baricitinib was from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) as a mon- otherapy or combination therapy with methotrexate for patients with RA unresponsive to disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs
A comparative analysis of performance for the turkish banking sector
Banks are the important part of financial sector in Turkish economy like international ones. Therefore efficiency of banks are important not only for them but also for their customers and national economy. In this study, efficiency scores of some banks in Turkey are calculated with Data Envelopment Analysis. For this research inputs are the number of personnel, the number of branch and total assets; also outputs are profit and total deposits. This information are related with during 2009-2013 period. According to ownership and process, banks are classified as public, domestic-private, foreign-private and participation ones. Results show that the most efficient banking group is public, then domestic-private, participation and foreign-private banking groups, respectively. Additionally, outcomes are discussed in terms of Turkish economy
Metachronous Bilateral Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Lacrimal Gland
Background: To report an aggressive and treatment-resistant adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the lacrimal gland (LG).Case report: A 29-year-old woman with diagnosis of LG-ACC had operations 7 times, radiotherapy 3 times and systemic chemotherapy 2 times. Although she generally responded therapies, the duration of remissions was short lived and the tumor progressed locally and did hematogen metastases. Conclusion: LG-ACC presents a therapeutic challenge despite its slow growth rate and lower likelihood of lymph-node metastasis. Postoperative radiotherapy with wide margins should be utilized —even after a complete resection— because of persistent recurrences, perineural invasion and hematogenous spread.
Comparison of permanent deformation and fatigue resistance of hot mix asphalts prepared with the same performance grade binders
In this study, the volumetric properties, Marshall stabilities, the indirect tensile stiffness moduli, and the fatigue and permanent deformation strengths of hot mix asphalts prepared with the same performance grade binders in accordance with Superpave method at optimum binder contents were comparatively investigated. In addition, the effect of bitumen modification using SBS on the mechanical characteristics of the mixtures was evaluated. Dynamic creep and indirect tensile fatigue tests were conducted at two distinct stress levels and three different loading periods. As the binder tests, it was determined that the modified bitumen obtained by adding of 3% SBS by weight into the B 160/220 binder yielded the same
level of performance with the B 70/100 bitumen. It was also found that using 3% SBS by weight for the purpose of bitumen modification enhanced the desired properties of the mixture to a significant degree. It was observed that the best performance belonged to the mixtures containing B 70/100 bitumen, while the worst performance was found for the mixtures made from B 160/220 bitumen. Additionally, although the mixtures prepared by the same performance grade binders in accordance with the Superpave system were expected to behave similarly, it was found that they differed considerably with respect to their stiffness, tensile strength and strength against permanent deformation
Poor prognosis in paediatric haemorrhagic stroke
MakaleWOS:000936965000001PubMed ID: 36661106Stroke, increasingly recognised in children in recent years, is an important cause of long-term morbidity and disability. A wide range of conditions associated with paediatric stroke has been identified, which differ significantly from those in adults. Paediatric stroke can also present with a variety of symptoms and signs, both specific and non-specific [1, 2]. Paediatric haemorrhagic stroke (HS) is a rare but severe condition, with lifelong multifaceted adverse functional, psychosocial, and economic consequences [3]. In this study, we have evaluated the clinical, laboratory and neuroimaging findings in children with HS in order to draw attention to the high morbidity and mortality rates of paediatric HS. (...
