    Multi-axis fatigue loading system of wind turbine blade and vibration coupling characteristics

    This paper presents a new method which focuses on the multi-axis fatigue loading mode for wind turbine blade and aims to shorten the fatigue loading cycle. The whole test scheme is design for the measurement of fatigue loading system. The two leading sources of fatigue loading system are asymmetric arrangement in the space. In addition, its vibration mathematical model is derived according to the Lagrange equation. The numerical simulation model is developed by means of Matlab Simulink. The vibration coupling characteristics including motor revolution speed, phase and amplitude of wind turbine blade is obtained. Moreover, the trajectory of wind turbine blade is obtained. Finally, a multi-axis fatigue loading platform for small wind turbine blade is built for the proposed study. The on-site test showed that if the revolution speeds of the two loading sources is the same as the natural frequency of wind turbine blade, the revolution speed, the phase angle of motor and the blade trajectory were relative changed smoothly. Thus, the amplitude of blade is state and the largest. Otherwise when the revolution speed of motor is different with the natural frequency of blade, the revolution speeds and phase angle of the two loading sources fluctuated largely. The above conclusion provided the theoretical basis for the subsequent decoupling control algorithm of multi-axis fatigue loading test

    Inhibitory Effects of Various Ratios of Polysaccharides/Alkaloids from Rhizome of Coptis chinensis Franch on α-Glucosidase

    Purpose: To investigate the inhibitory effects of various ratios of polysaccharides/ alkaloids from the rhizome of Coptis chinensis Franch (RCC) on α-glucosidase.Methods: The polysaccharides (PSD) and alkaloids (ALK) from RCC were prepared using the water extraction and alcohol precipitation method and Reinecke’s salt precipitation method, respectively. Subsequently, the α glucosidase inhibitory effects of PSD, ALK, and PSD/ALK at various ratios were evaluated spectrophotometrically in vitro.Results: With a half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) value of 171.67 μg/mL, ALK showed higher α-glucosidase inhibitory activity than PSD (IC50 = 296.89 μg/mL). In addition, the polysaccharides/alkaloids (PSD/ALK) at the ratio of 3:1 exhibited stronger α-glucosidase inhibitory activity (IC50 = 160.9 μg/mL) than PSD, ALK and PSD/ALK at ratios of 1:3 (IC50 = 394.78 μg/mL), 1:2 (IC50 = 185.18 μg/mL), 1:1 (IC50 = 350.51 μg/mL), and 2:1 (IC50 = 229.16 μg/mL).Conclusion: The results obtained suggest that PSD/ALK (3:1) possesses the strongest α-glucosidase inhibitory effect and may be considered as a candidate agent in future anti-diabetes drug development.Keywords: Coptis chinensis, Polysaccharides, Alkaloids, α-Glucosidase, Antidiabeti

    Europium-doped amorphous calcium phosphate porous nanospheres: preparation and application as luminescent drug carriers

    Calcium phosphate is the most important inorganic constituent of biological tissues, and synthetic calcium phosphate has been widely used as biomaterials. In this study, a facile method has been developed for the fabrication of amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP)/polylactide-block-monomethoxy(polyethyleneglycol) hybrid nanoparticles and ACP porous nanospheres. Europium-doping is performed to enable photoluminescence (PL) function of ACP porous nanospheres. A high specific surface area of the europium-doped ACP (Eu3+:ACP) porous nanospheres is achieved (126.7 m2/g). PL properties of Eu3+:ACP porous nanospheres are investigated, and the most intense peak at 612 nm is observed at 5 mol% Eu3+ doping. In vitro cytotoxicity experiments indicate that the as-prepared Eu3+:ACP porous nanospheres are biocompatible. In vitro drug release experiments indicate that the ibuprofen-loaded Eu3+:ACP porous nanospheres show a slow and sustained drug release in simulated body fluid. We have found that the cumulative amount of released drug has a linear relationship with the natural logarithm of release time (ln(t)). The Eu3+:ACP porous nanospheres are bioactive, and can transform to hydroxyapatite during drug release. The PL properties of drug-loaded nanocarriers before and after drug release are also investigated

    The title compound, C13H16O4, was isolated from culture extracts of the endophytic fungus Cephalosporium sp. The ester and ether substituents are twisted only slightly out of the benzene ring plane, making dihedral angles of 2.16 (2) and 3.63 (5)°, respectively. The non-H atoms of all three substituents are almost coplanar with the benzene ring, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0284 Å from the mean plane through all non-H atoms in the structure. A weak intra­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond contributes to this conformation. In the crystal structure, mol­ecules are linked into a one-dimensional chain by inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Weak non-classical C—H⋯π contacts are also observed in the structure

    Baicalein inhibits acinar-to-ductal metaplasia of pancreatic acinal cell AR42J via improving the inflammatory microenvironment

    Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most aggressive cancers. Recent research has demonstrated that chronic pancreatitis (CP) is associated with an increased risk of PDAC, partly due to acinar-to-ductal metaplasia (ADM). Baicalein has been shown to exert anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects for CP or PDAC, respectively. The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of baicalein, and the putative underlying mechanism, on inflammatory cytokines-induced ADM of rat pancreatic acinar cell line AR42J. To investigate ADM and baicalein effects in vitro, AR42J were treated with recombinant rat Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (rTNFα) with or without baicalein for 5 days. Results showed that rTNFα-induced AR42J cells switched their phenotype from dominantly amylase-positive acinar cells to dominantly cytokeratin 19-positive ductal cells. Moreover, expression of the transcripts for TNFα or Hes-1, a Notch target, was up-regulated in these cells. Interestingly, baicalein reduced the population of ADM as well as cytokines gene expression but not Hes-1. Baicalein inhibited NF-κB activation induced by rTNFα in AR42J, but no effect on Notch 1activation. Moreover, baicalein suppressed the secretion of TNFα and Nitric Oxide (NO) in macrophages stimulated with LPS and further inhibited ADM of conditional medium-treated AR42J cells. Baicalein also suppressed the inflammatory response of LPS-activated macrophages, thereby inhibited ADM of AR42J by altering their microenvironment. Taken together, our study indicates that baicalein reduces rTNFα-induced ADM of AR42J cells by inhibiting NF-κB activation. It also sheds new light on Chinese material medica therapy of pancreatitis and thereby prevention of PDAC

    Serum γ-glutamyltransferase and uric acid levels are associated with impaired fasting glucose in adults from Inner Mongolia, China

    BACKGROUND: Serum γ-glutamyltransferase (GGT) and uric acid (UA) levels are elevated in patients with diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Prediabetes, characterized by impaired glucose tolerance, is an important risk factor for overt diabetes as well as cardiovascular disease. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore the relationship between GGT, UA and prediabetes in a Chinese population, and provide a scientific basis for the early prevention and treatment of diabetes. METHODS: We performed a cross-sectional population-based study in a cohort of 2694 subjects (1211 men and 1483 women, aged 35–86 years). Questionnaires and physical examinations were performed using standardized procedures. Fasting blood was collected to measure glucose and other biochemical parameters. The subjects were divided into two groups with either normal fasting glucose (NFG) or impaired fasting glucose (IFG), according to international diagnostic criteria. Logistic regression analysis was performed to estimate odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals. RESULTS: Compared with the NFG group, the IFG group had significantly higher blood pressure but lower high-density lipoprotein–cholesterol in women. Body mass index, waist circumference, triglyceride, glucose, GGT, and UA levels were significantly higher in males and females in the IFG group than those in the NFG group. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the OR for prediabetes increased with increasing serum GGT quartiles and UA quartiles. GGT and UA were positively associated with prediabetes in men and women, independent of age, ethnicity, smoking, alcohol consumption, blood pressure, physical labor, and other confounders. CONCLUSIONS: We found that serum GGT and UA levels were positively associated with prediabetes in men and women living in areas inhabited by Chinese ethnic minorities. As elevated GGT and UA levels were associated with significantly increased risk of prediabetes, they may be used as sensitive biological markers of prediabetes

    A Wideband Waveguide Antenna with Nearly Equal E- and H-Plane Radiation Patterns

    A novel wideband waveguide antenna with excellent performance is proposed, which is composed of a coaxial-waveguide transition and an open-ended rectangular waveguide loaded with a pair of horizontal umbrella-shaped metallic brims. The brims perpendicular to two broad walls of the waveguide are constructed to modulate the antenna to radiate nearly identical E- and H-plane radiation patterns. A wideband impedance matching performance is achieved with a fractional bandwidth of 40% through the introduction of short-stepped ladders. The antenna has the advantages of simple structure, symmetric radiation pattern, low-cross polarization, moderate back lobe, and almost constant beamwidth

    Construction and Application of Standardized Postoperative Pain-Management Procedure for Patients With Perianal Abscess: A Retrospective Study

    ObjectiveThe present study explored the construction and application of a standardized postoperative pain-management procedure for patients with perianal abscess.MethodsTwo study groups (the observation group and the intervention group) were established retrospectively. The observation group comprised 46 patients with perianal abscess who enrolled in this study between June 2019 and June 2020. The intervention group comprised 48 patients who enrolled in the study between July 2020 and July 2021. All patients were enrolled using the convenience sampling method. A pain-management team was established, and standardized procedure management was implemented in the intervention group, while routine pain management was implemented in the observation group. Indices related to the patients' postoperative pain-control satisfaction and rehabilitation were compared between the two groups.ResultsThe patients' pain-control satisfaction, wound edema score, edema disappearance time, urinary retention, and defecation difficulty following intervention were better in the intervention group than in the observation group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05 for all).ConclusionThe implementation of the standardized postoperative pain-management procedure in patients with perianal abscess can effectively improve the patient's level of pain and satisfaction and promote rehabilitation
