A multi-wavelength observation and investigation of six infrared dark clouds
Context. Infrared dark clouds (IRDCs) are ubiquitous in the Milky Way, yet
they play a crucial role in breeding newly-formed stars.
Aims. With the aim of further understanding the dynamics, chemistry, and
evolution of IRDCs, we carried out multi-wavelength observations on a small
sample.
Methods. We performed new observations with the IRAM 30 m and CSO 10.4 m
telescopes, with tracers , HCN, , ,
DCO, SiO, and DCN toward six IRDCs G031.97+00.07, G033.69-00.01,
G034.43+00.24, G035.39-00.33, G038.95-00.47, and G053.11+00.05.
Results. We investigated 44 cores including 37 cores reported in previous
work and seven newly-identified cores. Toward the dense cores, we detected 6
DCO, and 5 DCN lines. Using pixel-by-pixel spectral energy distribution
(SED) fits of the 70 to 500 m, we obtained dust
temperature and column density distributions of the IRDCs. We found that emission has a strong correlation with the dust temperature and column
density distributions, while showed the weakest correlation. It
is suggested that is indeed a good tracer in very dense
conditions, but is an unreliable one, as it has a relatively
low critical density and is vulnerable to freezing-out onto the surface of cold
dust grains. The dynamics within IRDCs are active, with infall, outflow, and
collapse; the spectra are abundant especially in deuterium species.
Conclusions. We observe many blueshifted and redshifted profiles,
respectively, with and toward the same core. This
case can be well explained by model "envelope expansion with core collapse
(EECC)".Comment: 24 pages, 11 figures, 4 tables. To be published in A&A. The

Robust Outdoor Vehicle Visual Tracking Based on k-Sparse Stacked Denoising Auto-Encoder
Robust visual tracking for outdoor vehicle is still a challenging problem due to large object appearance variations caused by illumination variation, occlusion, and fast motion. In this chapter, k-sparse constraint is added to the encoder part of stacked auto-encoder network to learn more invariant feature of object appearance, and a stacked k-sparse-auto-encoder–based robust outdoor vehicle tracking method under particle filter inference is further proposed to solve the problem of appearance variance during the tracking. Firstly, a stacked denoising auto-encoder is pre-trained to learn the generic feature representation. Then, a k-sparse constraint is added to the stacked denoising auto-encoder, and the encoder of k-sparse stacked denoising auto-encoder is connected with a classification layer to construct a classification neural network. Finally, confidence of each particle is computed by the classification neural network and is used for online tracking under particle filter framework. Comprehensive tracking experiments are conducted on a challenging single-object tracking benchmark. Experimental results show that our tracker outperforms most state-of-the-art trackers
Quantitative evaluation of wavelet-based image processing algorithms
Wavelet analysis is currently being investigated as an image enhancement tool for use in mammography. Although this approach to image processing appears to have great promise, there remain major uncertainties regarding an optimal form of wavelet based algorithms. It is, therefore, desirable to have a quantitative method for evaluating a wavelet based image processing algorithm. Optimization of algorithms prior to evaluation using standard Receiver Operating Characteristic method is made possible. A mathematical method has been developed where the input signal is a gaussian with added random noise. An enhancement factor (EF) is obtained from input and output signal-to-noise ratios, SNRi and SNRo, (EF equals SNRo/SNRi). The development and testing of this method is described, and a practical application in given showing the major features of a wavelet based image processing algorithm based on the Frazier-Jawerth transform
Di-μ-chromato-κ4 O:O′-bis[bis(phenanthroline-κ2 N,N′)cadmium(II)] dihydrate
In the title compound, [Cd2Cr2O8(C12H8N2)4]·2H2O, which was obtained by hydrothermal reaction of CdCO3 and phenanthroline with K2CrO4 at 393 K, two distorted Cd(N4O2) octahedra are linked through μ2-bridging chromate anions, forming a centrosymmetric tetranuclear eight-membered ring complex. The water molecules link the chromate O atoms via intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These aggregates pack to a three-dimensional network through weak intermolecular C—H⋯O and C—H⋯π hydrogen-bonding contacts
Output frequency response function-based analysis for nonlinear Volterra systems
Analysis of nonlinear systems has been studied extensively. Based on some recently developed results, a new systematic approach to the analysis of nonlinear Volterra systems in
the frequency domain is proposed in this paper, which provides a novel insight into the frequency domain analysis and design of nonlinear systems subject to a general input instead of only specific harmonic inputs using input-output experimental data. A general procedure to conduct an output frequency response function (OFRF) based analysis is given, and some fundamental results and techniques are established for this purpose. A case study for the analysis of a circuit system is provided to illustrate this new frequency domain method
