Analysis of precipitation and dissolution in overaged 7xxx aluminium alloys using DSC

    No full text
To improve the understanding of the relation between composition, precipitation and the balance of strength and electrical conductivity (as a measure of the stress-corrosion resistance), a number of Al Zn Mg Cu Zr aluminium alloy plates with different Zn, Mg and Cu contents were produced and studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). It is shown that detailed analysis of the DSC data produces valuable information on the optimal Mg, Zn and Cu contents

This paper discusses art appreciation instruction and the changes of classroom questioning at senior secondary school in visual culture context so as to improve art appreciation instruction and find out the strategy for the further development of art education at senior secondary school based on that at primary and junior secondary schools. It analyzes existing problems including classroom questioning in traditional appreciation education by the method of case analysis. It also makes in-depth discussion on art appreciation instruction and the changes of classroom questioning at senior secondary school in visual culture context

Beliefs about medicines and non-adherence in patients with stroke, diabetes mellitus and rheumatoid arthritis: a cross-sectional study in China

OBJECTIVES: To investigate beliefs about medicines and their association with medicine adherence in patients with chronic diseases in China. DESIGN: A cross-sectional questionnaire-based study SETTING: Two large urban hospitals in Hefei and Tianjin, China PARTICIPANTS: Hospital inpatients (313 stroke patients) and outpatients (315 diabetic patients and 339 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients) were recruited between January 2014 and September 2014. OUTCOME MEASURES: The Beliefs about Medicines Questionnaire (BMQ), assessing patients' beliefs about the specific medicine (Specific-Necessity and Specific-Concerns) prescribed for their conditions (stroke/diabetes/RA) and more general background beliefs about pharmaceuticals as a class of treatment (BMQ-General Benefit, Harm and Overuse); the Perceived Sensitivity to Medicines scale (PSM) assessed patients' beliefs about how sensitive they were to the effects of medicines and the Medication Adherence Report Scale. The association between non-adherence and beliefs about medicines was assessed using a logistic regression model. RESULTS: Patients with diabetes mellitus had a stronger perceived need for treatment (mean (SD) Specific-Necessity score, 3.75 (0.40)) than patients with stroke (3.69 (0.53)) and RA (3.66 (0.44)) (p=0.049). Moderate correlations were observed between Specific-Concerns and General-Overuse, General-Harm and PSM (Pearson correlation coefficients, 0.39, 0.49 and 0.49, respectively, p<0.01). Three hundred and eleven patients were non-adherent to their medicine (159 (51.0%) in the stroke group, 60 (26.7%) in the diabetes mellitus group and 62 (19.8%) in the RA group, p<0.01). Across the whole sample, after adjusting for demographic characteristics, non-adherence was associated with patients who had higher concerns about their medicines (OR, 1.35, 95% CI 1.07 to 1.71) and patients who believed that they were personally sensitive to the effects of medications (OR 1.44, 95% CI 1.16 to 1.85). CONCLUSION: The BMQ is a useful tool to identify patients at risk of non-adherence. In the future, adherence intervention studies may use the BMQ to screen for patients who are at risk of non-adherence and to map interventional support

Green retailing practices: An exploratory comparison between Chinese and British retailers

    Get PDF
Constituting the link between supply and demand, retailers can play an important role in a supply chain's green operations and logistics activities, which are one of the key contemporary concerns of governments and the general public. China, as a huge, fast-developing and opening marketplace has been attractive to British and other international retailers. However, the competition facing these retailers in the Chinese marketplace is intensifying. Research shows that British retailers began greening their business operations earlier than Chinese businesses that are still at an early stage. British retailers thus have an early-mover advantage with green operations as a characteristic competitive strength. The comparative study presented in this paper on the current green status/approaches of both Chinese and British retailers will be valuable to managers who are developing green strategies to enhance their competitiveness in the Chinese retail sector; the paper also enriches green theories in relation to this particular marketplace. </jats:p

Adaptive networking control method and application of 5G vehicle networking node

    Get PDF
at present, with the development of information technology, 5G network has been born, which also makes the Internet of things and the Internet based on the network develop rapidly. In this context, vehicular ad hoc network technology has attracted much attention. This technology has promoted the development of intelligent transportation from the research, birth and application in practice, so that intelligent transportation has been supported at the technical level, and its intelligent system has been optimized. In addition, vehicular ad hoc network technology plays a key role and value in road rescue, driverless and remote dispatching management. Therefore, this paper not only strengthens the greedy traffi c aware routing, but also optimizes the problems existing in its operation, and puts forward improved methods for the reference of the industry

Automaticity in processing spatial-numerical associations: Evidence from a perceptual orientation judgment task of Arabic digits in frames.

Human adults are faster to respond to small/large numerals with their left/right hand when they judge the parity of numerals, which is known as the SNARC (spatial-numerical association of response codes) effect. It has been proposed that the size of the SNARC effect depends on response latencies. The current study introduced a perceptual orientation task, where participants were asked to judge the orientation of a digit or a frame surrounding the digit. The present study first confirmed the SNARC effect with native Chinese speakers (Experiment 1) using a parity task, and then examined whether the emergence and size of the SNARC effect depended on the response latencies (Experiments 2, 3, and 4) using a perceptual orientation judgment task. Our results suggested that (a) the automatic processing of response-related numerical-spatial information occurred with Chinese-speaking participants in the parity task; (b) the SNARC effect was also found when the task did not require semantic access; and (c) the size of the effect depended on the processing speed of the task-relevant dimension. Finally, we proposed an underlying mechanism to explain the SNARC effect in the perceptual orientation judgment task
