Faster VoxelPose: Real-time 3D Human Pose Estimation by Orthographic Projection

While the voxel-based methods have achieved promising results for multi-person 3D pose estimation from multi-cameras, they suffer from heavy computation burdens, especially for large scenes. We present Faster VoxelPose to address the challenge by re-projecting the feature volume to the three two-dimensional coordinate planes and estimating X, Y, Z coordinates from them separately. To that end, we first localize each person by a 3D bounding box by estimating a 2D box and its height based on the volume features projected to the xy-plane and z-axis, respectively. Then for each person, we estimate partial joint coordinates from the three coordinate planes separately which are then fused to obtain the final 3D pose. The method is free from costly 3D-CNNs and improves the speed of VoxelPose by ten times and meanwhile achieves competitive accuracy as the state-of-the-art methods, proving its potential in real-time applications.Comment: 22 pages, 7 figures, submitted to ECCV 202

Research on Competitiveness of China’s Social Commerce Enterprises Based on Macro- and Micro-Niche

Imbalance of development and resources allocation can emerge during the rapid expansion of social commerce enterprises, which significantly reduces their competitiveness and sustainability. In this paper, we put forward the concept of social commerce ecosystem and propose a model composed of macro-niche and micro-niche to empirically analyze the performance of different social commerce enterprises in China. The results show that: (1) The social sharing e-commerce sub-industry is a monopoly market while the social retail e-commerce sub-industry tends to be a perfectly competitive market; (2) Compared with using only macro-niche or micro-niche, our model shows a more comprehensive insight of enterprise competitiveness, which provides a better niche evaluation for other industries

Optimal marketing channel and strategy in social commerce

This paper aims to explore the optimal marketing channel of e-commerce enterprises with various consumer base size and product added-value in social commerce. By characterizing the consumer utility, we construct decision-making models of e-commerce enterprises under the traditional e-commerce platform (TECP) and two kinds of social commerce marketing channels involving “e-commerce platform + social” (ECPS) and “social media + business’ (SMB). Then, we obtain the optimal strategy of e-commerce enterprises for each channel by using the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) conditions, and verify the effectiveness of the corollaries by numerical simulation. Results find that social commerce marketing channels (ECPS and SMB) are not necessarily better than TECP. For e-commerce enterprises with low consumer base size and low product added-value, the TECP channel offers the largest profit. Besides, SMB is the preferred marketing channel for most e-commerce enterprises

A real decoupled method and free interface component mode synthesis methods for generally damped systems

This paper reports on the development of a new transformation method. In contrast to most existing mode transformation methods in which the first-order state-space equation of the damped vibration system is transformed into a decoupled form with complex coefficient matrices, using the decoupled method presented in this paper, the equation of the damped system can be decomposed into a decoupled equation with real coefficient matrices. Two new free interface component mode synthesis methods are also presented. The equivalent full-mode matrix of the damped structure is used to capture the effects of the higher-order modes. Additionally, this work modifies the compatibility conditions at the junctions that are employed in most of the previous component mode synthesis methods for generally damped systems. The first component mode synthesis method is performed in complex space, whereas the second method can be applied in real space. Because the coefficient matrices of the coupled equation constructed by the second component mode synthesis method are all real-valued, the solution of the eigenproblem for this coupled equation can be performed in real space as well. Additionally, numerical examples demonstrate the accuracy and validity of these two component mode synthesis methods. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd
