Fully printed perovskite solar cells (PSCs) were fabricated in air with all constituent layers, except for electrodes, deposited by the blade coating technique. The PSCs incorporated, for the first time, a nanometer-thick printed bathocuproine (BCP) hole blocking buffer using blade coating and deposited at relative humidity up to 50%. The PSCs with a p-i-n structure (glass/indium tin oxide (ITO)/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS)/CH3NH3PbI3/[6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)/BCP/Ag) delivered a maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 14.9% on an active area of 0.5 cm2 when measured under standard test conditions. The PSCs with a blade coated BCP delivered performance of 10% and 63% higher (in relative terms) than those incorporating a spin coated BCP or without any BCP film, respectively. The atomic force microscopy (AFM) showed that blade coated films were more homogeneous and acted also as a surface planarizer leading to a reduction of roughness which improved BCP/Ag interface lowering charge recombination. The demonstration of 15% efficient devices with all constituent layers, including nanometer-thick BCP (∼ 10 nm), deposited by blade coating in air, demonstrates a route for industrialization of this technology

To evaluate the technical proceduresof a research protocol with tissue-engineered heartvalves in sheep, the surgical techniques for pulmonic, aortic and mitral valve replacement and the outcomeof 58 heart valve surgeries was analyzed. Thesheeps (age 18 ± 7 weeks and body weigh 30 ± 9.9kg) were implanted with valve bioprosthesis understandard protocols. Forty animals received pulmonicvalve prosthesis, fourteen animals received aorticprosthesis and four animals were implanted withmitral prosthesis. The fourth intercostal space wereconsidered the best for all operative techniques. The cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) method throughcanulation of descending aorta and right atrial wereconsidered fast and secure. The CPB time of pulmonicvalve replacement was 34 ± 14 minutes and mortalityrate was 7,5%. The CPB time of subcoronarian aorticvalve implantation was 119 ± 5 minutes and themortality rate was 57%. In mitral substitution the CPBtime was 74 ± 22 minutes and mortality was 50%.The technique of pulmonic valve replacement wasvery efficient, however the mortality rate of both aorticand mitral valve surgery, associated with the highlysurgical technical complexity and elevated CPB time, require technical refinements to improve exploitationof the animals on the left side cardiac surgeries.

The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced unforeseen challenges in the delivery of lactation training, education, and skilled support worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed global recommendations for the protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding when COVID-19 is suspected or confirmed (World Health Organization, 2020). This interim guidance, which is grounded in the best available clinical evidence and epidemiology, brings attention to the importance of integrating breastfeeding education and skilled lactation support into the COVID-19 pandemic response (Gribble, 2018; UNICEF, 2020)

Deep sclerectomy with periferic iridectomy associated to the topical use of salicilic acid in experimental glaucoma in cats Abstract The main aim of the present research work is the testing of two techniques of filtrating surgery in order to get an experimental model of glaucoma in healthy cat eyes. This technique was associated with the topical use of 0.3% solution of salicilic acid (SA) due to its antiprostaglandin and antifibrotic properties, maintaining, this way, the filtrating surgery. Firstly, the three experimental cats underwent a toxic tolerance test. The glaucoma model was obtained by the injection of a supersaturated solution of carbon fiber in the eye anterior chamber. After a period of 48 hours, all the three animals developed a glaucoma displaying intraocular pressure above 40 mmHg. This group and another group of three cats with normal intraocular pressure were submitted to the same surgical and medical protocols. Five of this animals were medicated with topical drops of SA, the remainder one, used as control, developed glaucoma around the seventh day after the operation. The salicilic acid treated cats were observed for the maintenance of the filtrating bubble during 25 days, all of them displaying good aqueous filtration, an observations that allowed the conclusion that salicilic acid displays a marked antifibrotic and antiinflamatory activity towards the sclera, allowing the efficacy of the filtrating surgery
