Model Theory, Hume's Dictum, and the Priority of Ethical Theory
It is regrettably common for theorists to attempt to characterize the Humean dictum that one can’t get an ‘ought’ from an ‘is’ just in broadly logical terms. We here address an important new class of such approaches which appeal to model-theoretic machinery. Our complaint about these recent attempts is that they interfere with substantive debates about the nature of the ethical. This problem, developed in detail for Daniel Singer’s and Gillian Russell and Greg Restall’s accounts of Hume’s dictum, is of a general type arising for the use of model-theoretic structures in cashing out substantive philosophical claims: the question of whether an abstract model-theoretic structure successfully interprets something often involves taking a stand on non-trivial issues surrounding the thing. In the particular case of Hume’s dictum, given reasonable conceptual or metaphysical claims about the ethical, Singer’s and Russell and Restall’s accounts treat obviously ethical claims as descriptive and vice versa. Consequently, their model-theoretic characterizations of Hume’s dictum are not metaethically neutral. This encourages skepticism about whether model-theoretic machinery suffices to provide an illuminating distinction between the ethical and the descriptive
Effects of the triaxial deformation and pairing correlation on the proton emitter 145Tm
The ground-state properties of the recent reported proton emitter 145Tm have
been studied within the axially or triaxially deformed relativistic mean field
(RMF) approaches, in which the pairing correlation is taken into account by the
BCS-method with a constant pairing gap. It is found that triaxiality and
pairing correlations play important roles in reproducing the experimental one
proton separation energy. The single-particle level, the proton emission orbit,
the deformation parameters beta = 0.22 and gamma = 28.98 and the corresponding
spectroscopic factor for 145Tm in the triaxial RMF calculation are given as

Mechanisms and Observations of Coronal Dimming for the 2010 August 7 Event
Coronal dimming of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) emission has the potential to be
a useful forecaster of coronal mass ejections (CMEs). As emitting material
leaves the corona, a temporary void is left behind which can be observed in
spectral images and irradiance measurements. The velocity and mass of the CMEs
should impact the character of those observations. However, other physical
processes can confuse the observations. We describe these processes and the
expected observational signature, with special emphasis placed on the
differences. We then apply this understanding to a coronal dimming event with
an associated CME that occurred on 2010 August 7. Data from the Solar Dynamics
Observatory's (SDO) Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) and EUV Variability
Experiment (EVE) are used for observations of the dimming, while the Solar and
Heliospheric Observatory's (SOHO) Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph
(LASCO) and the Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory's (STEREO) COR1 and
COR2 are used to obtain velocity and mass estimates for the associated CME. We
develop a technique for mitigating temperature effects in coronal dimming from
full-disk irradiance measurements taken by EVE. We find that for this event,
nearly 100% of the dimming is due to mass loss in the corona
Pilot Open Case Series of Voice over Internet Protocol-Delivered Assessment and Behavior Therapy for Chronic Tic Disorders
Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) is an efficacious treatment for children with chronic tic disorders (CTDs). Nevertheless, many families of children with CTDs are unable to access CBIT due to a lack of adequately trained treatment providers, time commitment, and travel distance. This study established the interrater reliability between in-person and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) administrations of the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS), and examined the preliminary efficacy, feasibility, and acceptability of VoIP-delivered CBIT for reducing tics in children with CTDs in an open case series. Across in-person and VoIP administrations of the YGTSS, results showed mean agreement of 91%, 96%, and 95% for motor, phonic, and total tic severity subscales. In the pilot feasibility study, 4 children received 8 weekly sessions of CBIT via VoIP and were assessed at pre- and posttreatment by an independent evaluator. Results showed a 29.44% decrease in clinician-rated tic severity from pre- to posttreatment on the YGTSS. Two of the 4 patients were considered treatment responders at posttreatment, using Clinical Global Impressions–Improvement ratings. Therapeutic alliance, parent and child treatment satisfaction, and videoconferencing satisfaction ratings were high. CBIT was considered feasible to implement via VoIP, although further testing is recommended
INTEGRAL high energy detection of the transient IGR J11321-5311
Context: The transient hard X-ray source IGR J11321-5311 was discovered by
INTEGRAL on June 2005, during observations of the Crux spiral arm. To date,
this is the only detection of the source to be reported by any X/gamma-ray
mission. Aims: To characterize the behaviour and hence the nature of the source
through temporal and spectral IBIS analysis. Methods: Detailed spectral and
temporal analysis has been performed using standard INTEGRAL software OSA
v.5.1. Results: To date, IGR J11321-5311 has been detected only once. It was
active for about 3.5 hours, a short and bright flare lasting about 1.5 hours is
evident in the IBIS light curve. It reached a peak flux of about 80 mCrab or
2.2x10E-9 erg cmE-2 sE-1 (20--300 keV),corresponding to a peak luminosity of
1.1x10E37 erg sE-1 (assuming a distance of 6.5 kpc). During the outburst, the
source was detected with a significance of 18 sigma (20--300 keV) and 8 sigma
(100--300 keV). The spectrum of the total outburst activity (17--300 keV) is
best fitted by the sum of a power law (Gamma=0.55+/-0.18) plus a black body
(kT=1.0{+0.2}_{-0.3} keV), with no evidence for a break up to 300 keV. A
spectral analysis at Science Window level revealed an evident hardening of the
spectrum through the outburst. The IBIS data were searched for pulsations with
no positive result. Conclusions: The X-ray spectral shape and the flaring
behaviour favour the hypothesis that IGR J11321-5311 is an Anomalous X-ray
Pulsar, though a different nature can not be firmly rejected at the present

Microscopic calculation of the phonon-roton branch in superfluid He
Diffusion Monte Carlo results for the phonon-roton excitation branch in bulk
liquid He at zero temperature are presented. The sign problem associated to
the excited wave function has been dealt both with the fixed-node approximation
and the released-node technique. The upper bounds provided by the fixed-node
approximation are shown to become exact when using the released-node method. An
excellent agreement with experimental data is achieved both at the equilibrium

Clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness of individual mental health workers colocated within primary care practices: a systematic literature review
Objectives Mental health disorders contribute significantly to the global burden of disease and lead to extensive strain on health systems. The integration of mental health workers into primary care has been proposed as one possible solution, but evidence of clinical and cost effectiveness of this approach is unclear. We reviewed the clinical and cost effectiveness of mental health workers colocated within primary care practices. Design Systematic literature review. Data sources We searched the Medline, Embase, PsycINFO, Healthcare Management Information Consortium (HMIC) and Global Health databases. Eligibility criteria All quantitative studies published before July 2019 were eligible for the review; participants of any age and gender were included. Studies did not need to report a certain outcome measure or comparator in order to be eligible. Data extraction and synthesis Data were extracted using a standardised table; however, pooled analysis proved unfeasible. Studies were assessed for risk of bias using the Risk Of Bias In Non-randomised Studies - of Interventions (ROBINS-I) tool and the Cochrane collaboration’s tool for assessing risk of bias in randomised trials. Results Fifteen studies from four countries were included. Mental health worker integration was associated with mental health benefits to varied populations, including minority groups and those with comorbid chronic diseases. Furthermore, the interventions were correlated with high patient satisfaction and increases in specialist mental health referrals among minority populations. However, there was insufficient evidence to suggest clinical outcomes were significantly different from usual general practitioner care. Conclusions While there appear to be some benefits associated with mental health worker integration in primary care practices, we found insufficient evidence to conclude that an onsite primary care mental health worker is significantly more clinically or cost effective when compared with usual general practitioner care. There should therefore be an increased emphasis on generating new evidence from clinical trials to better understand the benefits and effectiveness of mental health workers colocated within primary care practices
Trauma histories among justice-involved youth: findings from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
BackgroundUp to 90% of justice-involved youth report exposure to some type of traumatic event. On average, 70% of youth meet criteria for a mental health disorder with approximately 30% of youth meeting criteria for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Justice-involved youth are also at risk for substance use and academic problems, and child welfare involvement. Yet, less is known about the details of their trauma histories, and associations among trauma details, mental health problems, and associated risk factors.ObjectiveThis study describes detailed trauma histories, mental health problems, and associated risk factors (i.e., academic problems, substance/alcohol use, and concurrent child welfare involvement) among adolescents with recent involvement in the juvenile justice system.MethodThe National Child Traumatic Stress Network Core Data Set (NCTSN-CDS) is used to address these aims, among which 658 adolescents report recent involvement in the juvenile justice system as indexed by being detained or under community supervision by the juvenile court.ResultsAge of onset of trauma exposure was within the first 5 years of life for 62% of youth and approximately one-third of youth report exposure to multiple or co-occurring trauma types each year into adolescence. Mental health problems are prevalent with 23.6% of youth meeting criteria for PTSD, 66.1% in the clinical range for externalizing problems, and 45.5% in the clinical range for internalizing problems. Early age of onset of trauma exposure was differentially associated with mental health problems and related risk factors among males and females.ConclusionsThe results indicate that justice-involved youth report high rates of trauma exposure and that this trauma typically begins early in life, is often in multiple contexts, and persists over time. Findings provide support for establishing trauma-informed juvenile justice systems that can respond to the needs of traumatized youth
Price formation in the raw wool market
Econometric analysis of the demand for raw wool at auction published by other authors has been mainly confined to an analysis of the determinants of the consumption of raw wool. However the purchaser of raw wool at auction must hold his purchases either in transit or in store for some months before either reselling or consuming wool in his own mills. Thus the conventional analysis of the determinants of the demand for wool for consumption is not directly relevant when considering the short run demand for wool at auction. As a result, models based on the conventional analysis do not adequately explain fluctuations in prices paid at auction in primary markets. An earlier attempt by Philpott to explain such fluctuations used annual data. Based on this earlier work we develop in this paper two models of quarterly demand for raw wool at auction and we test these models against quarterly data for the period 1952 to the first quarter of 1967
