Abstract. The survey result of Indonesian Organic Alliance (AOI) shows that there were 40% increasing of organic food consumer during 2012 to 2013. This condition indicates that the availability of organic product should be increased. The purpose of this research is to develop a model which describes the factors that affect the farmers’ intention on implementing organic farming technology, especially in Tasikmalaya, Indonesia, and to identify the influence of perceived usefulness toward the attitude in implementing organic farming technology. The factors influencing farmers’ intention are identified through understanding about the influence of attitude, subjective norm, and behavioral control. Research model testing was conducted using the approach of Partial Least Square (PLS) with sample data obtained through interviews with 81 organic farmers in Tasikmalaya, West Java. The result of this research shows that perceived usefulness construct is significantly influence farmer’s attitude towards organic farming. Moreover, attitude, subjective norm, and behavioral control are also significantly influenced towards farmer’s intention to organic farming. Keywords: Acceptance of Technology, Theory of Planned Behavior, Theory of Acceptance Model, Organic Farming, Farmer’s Intention Abstrak. Kata kunci: Penerimaan Teknologi, Theory of Planned Behavior, Theory of Acceptance Model, Pertanian Organik, Niat PetaniÂ

Dengue is regarded as the most important mosquito-borne viral disease. Recently dengue has emerged as a public health burden in Southeast Asia and other tropical countries. At times when dengue re-emerges as an epidemic, hospitals are required to be able to handle patient flow fluctuation while maintaining their performance. This research applied a data mining technique to build a model that can predict in-patient hospital length of stay from the time of admission, which can be useful for effective decision-making that may lead to better clinical and resource management in hospitals. Using the C4.5 algorithm and a decision tree classifier, an accuracy of 71.57% and an area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve value of 0.761 were obtained. The decision tree showed that only 7 out of 21 input attributes affect the hospital length of stay prediction of dengue patients. The attribute with the highest impact was monocytes, followed by diastolic blood pressure, hematocrit, leucocytes, systolic blood pressure, comorbidity score, and lymphocytes. In this research also a prototype of a prediction system using the resulting model was developed

Innovation and Productivity in Indonesian it Clusters: The Influence of External Economies and Joint Action

    Get PDF
Literature studies indicate that information technology (IT) clusters encourage innovation and increase firm-level productivity by providing external economies and facilitating joint action for its members. The purpose of this study is to identify the external economy and joint action factors that affect firm innovation and productivity in the IT cluster. A research model was developed based on earlier models of joint action and external economies. The model consists of three external economy related factors, i.e., access to skills, finance, and infrastructure, as well as three joint action related factors, i.e., vertical, horizontal, and research and development (R&D) cooperation as the independent variables, firm innovation as the intervening variable, the firm’s absorptive capacity as the moderating variable, and firm productivity as the dependent variable. Data collection was conducted through a survey with respondents from 32 IT firms located in three clusters in Bandung and one cluster in Cimahi (West Java – Indonesia). The partial least square (PLS) approach was used for hypotheses testing. The results indicate that horizontal cooperation, access to infrastructure, and access to skill have a positive impact on productivity, while horizontal cooperation and R&D cooperation have a positive impact on innovation. Finally, firm innovation is proven to positively influence firm productivity

Examining the Role of Usability, Compatibility and Social Influence in Mobile Banking Adoption in Indonesia

Adaptation to the internet and advances in mobile technology has become key to the survival of industries, including the banking industry. One of the latest electronic banking channels is mobile banking. While mobile banking offers various advantages, many banks in Indonesia are facing the problem of low adoption. This paper reports on the findings of our research project, which examines mobile banking adoption behavior in Indonesia from an interaction perspective. Specifically, the paper examines the role of usability, compatibility and social influence in explaining people’s intention to continue using mobile banking in Indonesia. Using an interaction perspective framework, a research model is proposed. Ten hypotheses are suggested, examining six constructs: satisfaction, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived learnability, compatibility and social influence. From a theoretical perspective, this paper is the first to combine usability, compatibility and social influence in a mobile banking adoption study. Data from 319 valid respondents were used to test the proposed model using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results show that all the hypotheses are supported, and it was found that people’s intention to continue using mobile banking is significantly affected by satisfaction, compatibility, perceived usefulness, perceived learnability and social influence

Driving Sustainable Performance in SMEs Through Frugal Innovation: The Nexus of Sustainable Leadership, Knowledge Management, and Dynamic Capabilities

    No full text
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) often need help to achieve sustainable performance due to constraints such as limited human and financial resources and restricted access to information. Frugal innovation, an approach that emphasizes cost-effective and resource-efficient solutions, offers the potential to address these challenges. This study explores how sustainable leadership, dynamic capabilities, and knowledge management interplay with frugal innovation to enhance the sustainable performance of SMEs. A quantitative survey was conducted using purposive sampling, collecting data from 236 craft SMEs in East Java, Indonesia. The research model was analyzed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal significant positive relationships between sustainable leadership, knowledge management, dynamic capabilities, and frugal innovation. Additionally, frugal innovation directly impacts sustainable performance and partially mediates the relationships between sustainable leadership, knowledge management, dynamic capabilities, and sustainable performance (p ≤0.001\le 0.001 ). These insights contribute to the knowledge of SME sustainability by demonstrating that frugal innovation, supported by sustainable leadership, dynamic capabilities, and knowledge management, can significantly enhance sustainable performance. Practically, this research offers valuable implications for stakeholders and policymakers in crafting strategies that foster sustainable development in SMEs
