Väsentlighetsbedömning -En kvalitativ studie av hur en revisors erfarenhet påverkar en väsentlighetsbedömning

Bakgrund och problemdiskussion: Väsentlighetstal är en grundsten vid genomförandet av en revision som används för att bestämma omfattningen av revisionen men även för att bedöma väsentligheten i de felaktigheter som hittas. Att det inte finns någon reglering kring hur ett väsentlighetstal ska beräknas, utan att detta ska göras med revisorns professionella omdöme, gör att bedömningarna blir väldigt subjektiva. Då bedömningarna blir individuella och det finns stora erfarenhetsskillnader är det intressant att undersöka hur detta påverkar en väsentlighetsbedömning. Frågeställning: Hur påverkar arbetslivserfarenhet inom revision en revisors väsentlighetsbedömning? Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilken påverkan en revisors arbetslivserfarenhet har på en revisors väsentlighetsbedömning samt vilka andra faktorer som påverkar denna. Avgränsningar: Studien ämnar ge en närmare bild av en revisors väsentlighetsbedömning och vilken roll revisorns erfarenhet spelar vid denna. De revisorer som ingår i studien arbetar inom de fem största revisionsbyråerna i Sverige och har olika lång arbetslivserfarenhet. Metod: Studien omfattade kvalitativa intervjuer med åtta revisorer från tre av de fem största revisionsbyråerna i Sverige med olika lång erfarenhet. Det empiriska materialet har sedan analyserats främst mot resultat från tidigare studier på området. Resultat och slutsatser: Studien har visat att en auktoriserad revisor sätter ett högre väsentlighetstal än en mindre erfaren kollega inom samma byrå, men även på stora skillnader mellan revisorerna inom olika byråer. Den slutsats som studien mynnar ut i är därför att erfarenhet, men även byråtillhörighet, är två faktorer som tillsammans påverkar en revisors väsentlighetsberäkning. Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Att erfarenhet samt byråtillhörighet visats ha stor påverkan på en revisors väsentlighetsbedömning anses intressant att genomföra en fördjupad studie i med ett större urval

Decoupling thinking in service operations: a case in healthcare delivery system design

The notion of decoupling thinking has been well established in the manufacturing operations and supply chain management literature. This paper explores how this decoupling thinking can be applied in service operations and in particular in health care. It first reviews the relevant literature on decoupling fundamentals, the front- and back-office distinction, and new emerging decoupling thinking in service operations. Subsequently, a flow-based framework including content and process is developed for decoupling thinking in service operations. The framework provides an integrated perspective on customer contact, flow driver and flow differentiation (level of customisation). The framework hence, through flow differentiation, introduces the concept of standardisation versus customisation in a service context. This is followed by a health care case example to illustrate how the framework can be applied. The managerial implications are primarily in terms of a modularised approach to system design and management. The framework offers potential for benchmarking with other service systems as well as with manufacturing systems based on the shared foundation in decoupling thinking. Finally, suggestions are provided for further research opportunities derived from this research

Marine Strategy Framework Directive - Task Group 4 Report Food Webs

The Marine Strategy Framework Directive (2008/56/EC) (MSFD) requires that the European Commission (by 15 July 2010) should lay down criteria and methodological standards to allow consistency in approach in evaluating the extent to which Good Environmental Status (GES) is being achieved. ICES and JRC were contracted to provide scientific support for the Commission in meeting this obligation. A total of 10 reports have been prepared relating to the descriptors of GES listed in Annex I of the Directive. Eight reports have been prepared by groups of independent experts coordinated by JRC and ICES in response to this contract. In addition, reports for two descriptors (Contaminants in fish and other seafood and Marine Litter) were written by expert groups coordinated by DG SANCO and IFREMER respectively. A Task Group was established for each of the qualitative Descriptors. Each Task Group consisted of selected experts providing experience related to the four marine regions (the Baltic Sea, the North-east Atlantic, the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea) and an appropriate scope of relevant scientific expertise. Observers from the Regional Seas Conventions were also invited to each Task Group to help ensure the inclusion of relevant work by those Conventions.
