Modeling of Returns of Nairobi Securities Exchange 20 Share Index Using Log-Normal Distribution
Nairobi Securities Exchange 20 Index Share (NSE-20 Share Index/ An Exchange Traded Fund) has been one of the investment avenues for both Kenyans and foreign investors look whenever they want to make sound investments decisions in the market. However, the assumption that the daily securities index prices follows a normal distribution has been disputed by data in several cases. This means new statistical distributions must be used to discern the distribution of NSE-20 Share Index thus enabling investors make prudent financial decisions to avoid financial loses. In this research paper, we will model the prices of daily securities index using a log-normal distribution. This is because the distribution follows a positive trend before we can ascertain on how well it fits the already available data at the NSE market. This research paper recommends that a log-normal distribution best fits data of the daily prices of NSE-20 Share Index for those investors who would like to model the future of the market before making financial decisions. KAJIAN BATAS WAKTU PENYELESAIAN PERKARA KORUPSI PADA PENGADILAN TINDAK PIDANA KORUPSI JAYAPURA
This research studies Completion Deadline of Corruption Case in Corruption Court Jayapura. The study aims to review the cause of corruption cases cannot beresolved in 120 days and knowing the efficient time to resolve corruption cases in corruption court jayapura. The legal research is normative. Research results show that the corruption cases at the corruption court in jayapura cannot be resolved in 120 days as what can be foundation in Article 29 of Law No. 46 of 2009 about Corruption Court. Causes of corruption cases can not be resolved in 120 days because, the process of examination of court, the limited number career of judge, indiscipline of public prosecutor, and the location of the Corruption Court in Jayapura. Completion of corruption cases at the corruption court in jayapura which often passes 120-day deadline makes Article 29 of Law No. 46 of 2009 about Corruption Court become not efficient because the implementation does not go well. The biggest reason is because of the location of the corruption court in jayapura which is the true nature of events and unreached quickly by a public prosecutor or a witness from outside related to corruption cases, due to inadequate infrastructure facilities such as Jakarta and Java. Therefore, the content of Article 29 of Law No. 46 of 2009 on the Corruption Court should be changed with the maximum time limits reach of 365 days (1 year) as the deadline efficient for all the Corruption Court in Indonesia which one of them is Jayapura Corruption Court
Identity Presentation in Face Book Posts: The Kenyan Situation
The Internet technology is dramatically changing the landscape of identity construction by mobilizing people around the world to re-conceptualize their image. This paper argues that although once identity was ascribed by family name and reputation, social status, education and such like factors, Face Book users now exert the utmost influence in shaping their virtual image to reflect both actual and ideal identities. It goes on to contend that Face Book provides an optimal format for users to keep a personal narrative going in which they integrate events which happen in the external world, and sort them into an ongoing’ story about the self. The paper uses a research design that is both qualitative and quantitative in nature. Purposive sampling procedure was used to arrive at the sample for the paper which consisted of eight Facebook friends in the 22-35 age bracket. This is the age that was found to use Facebook more in Kenya. This narrative on self is presented on Face Book in the feature called Timeline. One is able to access histories on an individual’s posts and photos, all that make up to re-construct the identity of this individual. PENGARUH EDUKASI KESEHATAN TERHADAP KECEMASAN PASIEN PRA-KATETERISASI DENGAN DIAGNOSTIK JANTUNG KORONER DI RSUP DR. M. DJAMIL PADANG
Proses menunggu pelaksanaan prosedur tindakan kateterisasi jantung sering
Dr.M.Djamil Padang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan September 2022 sampai
Febuari 2023 dengan desain penelitian quasi-experiment without control group
dengan one group pretest-posttest design dengan sampel 39 responden dipilih
secara accidental sampling yang memenuhi kriteria. Alat pengumpulan data yang
digunakan yaitu kuesioner State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) Form-Y1.
diberikan edukasi kesehatan sebesar 35,82.

Developing Entrepreneurial Potential in Information Science Students: A Critical Review of LIS Training Programs in Kenya
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the state of entrepreneurial education in library and information science programs and the influence that entrepreneurial education has on LIS students. The study adopted a descriptive research design approach. Both primary and secondary data was collected through questionnaires, observation and data review. The study population comprised of diploma and undergraduate students as well as alumni of LIS. The research data was analyzed through descriptive statistics and the results presented in tables. The findings showed that only basic entrepreneurship education was offered in LIS programs and not incorporated across all the years of study of a student. Entrepreneurship education was delivered in theory while practical experience was lacking. However, it was not conclusive from the study whether entrepreneurship education was taught by professionals or there were sufficient information resources to support teaching. The findings revealed that entrepreneurship education had little impact on student’s business skills, their potential of starting business, their attitude towards self-employment and their pursuit of personal economic venture or on their creativeness and innovation. The study recommends for entrepreneurship education to be aligned with the library practices and be offered throughout the study years of a student and be taught beyond the basics while incorporating practical lessons. It should also be handled by a professional with both entrepreneurship and LIS background and supported with information resources that are relevant. Entrepreneurship education should focus on adding business skills to a student, enhancing their creativity and innovativeness and creating a mindset and attitude of self-employment and business ventures. It further recommends that institution of higher learning should adopt strategies that can help to develop the entrepreneurial potential of students
A Comparison of Alkali and Biological Pretreatment Methods in Napier Grass (Pennisetum purpureum Scumach.) for Reducing Lignin Content in the Bioethanol Production Process
Napier grass is one of lignocellulosic plants that has the potential to be converted as bioethanol due to high productivity and relatively fast harvesting time. However, the problems of processing lignocellulosic plants into bioethanol are the high lignin content and the different lignin structure of each plant. Lignin can inhibit biological agents in accessing cellulose and hemicellulose. Therefore, it is necessary to select and optimize the pretreatment process with the aim of degrading lignin and maintaining the value of the cellulose. This study was conducted to compare the effectiveness of two different pretreatments (biological and alkaline) in degrading lignin. For the alkali pretreatment, lime (Ca(OH)2) was added to the Napier grass substrate using concentrations of 0.05, 0.1, and 0.5 grams/gram, which was then incubated at 23-25 oC each within 6, 24, and 96 hours period. For biological pretreatment, Aspergillus niger spore was used as an agent, which was incubated onto the Napier grass substrate using concentrations of 106, 107, and 108 cells/mL, an optimal temperature of 35oC and within 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 days period. As a comparison, Phanerochaete chrysosporium was also incubated using a concentration of 106 a temperature of 35 oC within 28 days period. The extracted Napier grass was then analyzed for lignocellulose content, which included hot water soluble, Hemicellulose, cellulose, lignin, and ash, using Chesson-Datta method and reducing sugar test. Comparison of biological pretreatment between Aspergillus niger and Phanerochaete chrysosporium showed that Aspergillus niger was better at degrading lignin, with a lignin-to-cellulose ratio of 24.3%, smaller than Phanerochaete chrysosporium at 30.645%. This ratio was furthermore compared with the ratio resulting from Alkali pretreatment, which showed that the former was proven to be more optimum

Language and Technology: Linguistic Features of Facebook in Kenya
This paper interrogates the utility of Facebook as a novel tool to observe linguistic behavior in a naturalistic setting. In this regard, this paper, seeks to identify, describe and interpret the linguistic features used on Facebook posts by a selected group of Facebook users in Kenya. It uses Herring’s (2004) Computer Mediated Discourse Analysis (CMDA) theoretical framework and adds knowledge to the field of Discourse analysis as well as sociolinguistics especially with regards to the methodology and tools of carrying out a Computer Mediated Communications paper. The research design used was both qualitative and quantitative. Purposive sampling procedure was used to arrive at the sample for the paper which consisted of eight Facebook friends in the 22-35 age bracket. This is the age that was found to use Facebook more in Kenya. The findings showed that while Kenyan Facebook users used conventional internet language including non-standard English, acronyms, emoticons, lengthening practice, code switching and capitalization, the linguistic features varied in form and frequency.
