Invariant information and complementarity in high-dimensional states
Using a generalization of the invariant information introduced by Brukner and
Zeilinger [Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{83}, 3354 (1999)] to high-dimensional
systems, we introduce a complementarity relation between the local and nonlocal
information for systems under the isolated environment, where
is prime or the power of prime. We also analyze the dynamics of the local
information in the decoherence process.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
A three-dimensional (time, wavelength and intensity) functioning fluorescent probe for the selective recognition/discrimination of Cu2+, Hg2+, Fe3+ and F- ions
We have strategically incorporated three different fluorophores at tren to construct a multi-energy donor/acceptor “smart” probe L. This probe operates by using three-dimensional scales (response time, wavelength and fluorescence intensity) which allows for the selective recognition and discrimination of the Cu2+, Hg2+, Fe3+ and F− ions
catena-Poly[[[tetraaquasamarium(III)]-di-μ-isonicotinato-κ4 O:O′] chloride]
In the structure of the title compound, {[Sm(C6H4NO2)2(H2O)4]Cl}n, the unique SmIII atom lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four isonicotinate ligands and four water molecules in a slightly distorted square-antiprismatic coodination environment. The SmIII atoms are bridged by two carboxylate groups of two isonicotinate ligands, forming an extended chain along the c-axis direction. These chains are cross-linked through hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework, with channels which accommodate the chloride anions
The traditional Chinese medicine formulation Ruanjian Sanjie Decoction regulates the tumor matrix and improves the anti-tumor efficacy of TP-PEG-LPs
The Ruanjian Sanjie Decoction (RSD) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation consisting of Spica Prunellae, Pseudobulbus Cremastrae Seu Pleiones, Concha Ostreae and Semen Coicis, and widely used as an adjuvant in anti-cancer therapy. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of RSD on the extracellular matrix (ECM) of tumors, and on the efficacy of anti-cancer nano-formulations in a tumor-bearing mouse model. The mice were treated with triptolide encapsulated in PEG-modified liposomes (TP-PEG-LPs), either alone or in combination with RSD. The combination treatment significantly retarded tumor growth relative to the untreated controls, indicating the potent adjuvant effect of RSD in targeted anti-cancer therapy. In addition, RSD also reduced the amount of total collagen and collagen I and increased that of collagen III in the tumor ECM, along with decreasing the expression of the pro-angiogenic VEGF. Finally, even high doses of RSD did not significantly affect the liver and kidney function or body weight, indicating low toxicity
Do people become more proactive at work as they grow older? Examining the mediating roles of intrinsic motivation, emotional exhaustion, and career aspiration
Today, there is an increasingly aging workforce. Previous studies have examined whether aged people exhibit more positive attitudes, better health, and better performance. However, the relationship between age and proactive work behavior has seldom been examined, which is unfortunate since organizations need employee proactivity to deal with uncertainty and unpredictability. Based on socioemotional selectivity theory, we propose that age might be positively related to proactive work behavior through intrinsic motivation and emotional exhaustion because older people tend to manage their emotions and obtain intrinsic enjoyment. But age might be negatively related to proactive work behavior through career aspiration because older people focus less on future development. With a sample of 393 people, we revealed intrinsic motivation and career aspiration. The findings could help us better understand how age is related to organizational outcomes and individual differences in proactive work behavior. They could also further reduce age-related discrimination and encourage organizations to manage older people in wise and better ways
