Investigation of Micro Porosity Sintered wick in Vapor Chamber for Fan Less Design
Micro Porosity Sintered wick is made from metal injection molding processes,
which provides a wick density with micro scale. It can keep more than 53 %
working fluid inside the wick structure, and presents good pumping ability on
working fluid transmission by fine infiltrated effect. Capillary pumping
ability is the important factor in heat pipe design, and those general
applications on wick structure are manufactured with groove type or screen
type. Gravity affects capillary of these two types more than a sintered wick
structure does, and mass heat transfer through vaporized working fluid
determines the thermal performance of a vapor chamber. First of all, high
density of porous wick supports high transmission ability of working fluid. The
wick porosity is sintered in micro scale, which limits the bubble size while
working fluid vaporizing on vapor section. Maximum heat transfer capacity
increases dramatically as thermal resistance of wick decreases. This study on
permeability design of wick structure is 0.5 - 0.7, especially permeability (R)
= 0.5 can have the best performance, and its heat conductivity is 20 times to a
heat pipe with diameter (Phi) = 10mm. Test data of this vapor chamber shows
thermal performance increases over 33 %.Comment: Submitted on behalf of TIMA Editions

Heavy QQ(bar) "Fireball" Annihilation to Multiple Vector Bosons
Drawing analogy of replacing the nucleon by heavy chiral quark , the pion
by Goldstone boson , and coupling by coupling, we construct a
statistical model for annihilation, i.e. into longitudinal
weak bosons. This analogy is becoming prescient since the LHC direct bound GeV implies strong Yukawa coupling. Taking TeV, the
mean number ranges from 6 to over 10, with negligible two or three
boson production. With individual or decays suppressed either by
phase space or quark mixing, and given the strong Yukawa coupling, is the likely outcome for very heavy production at the LHC.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur
Performance limitations of subband adaptive filters
In this paper, we evaluate the performance limitations of subband adaptive filters in terms of achievable final error terms. The limiting factors are the aliasing level in the subbands, which poses a distortion and thus presents a lower bound for the minimum mean squared error in each subband, and the distortion function of the overall filter bank, which in a system identification setup restricts the accuracy of the equivalent fullband model. Using a generalized DFT modulated filter bank for the subband decomposition, both errors can be stated in terms of the underlying prototype filter. If a source model for coloured input signals is available, it is also possible to calculate the power spectral densities in both subbands and reconstructed fullband. The predicted limits of error quantities compare favourably with simulations presented
Spectrum of low-lying configurations with negative parity
Spectrum of low-lying five-quark configurations with strangeness quantum
number and negative parity is studied in three kinds of constituent
quark models, namely the one gluon exchange, Goldstone Boson exchange, and
instanton-induced hyperfine interaction models, respectively. Our numerical
results show that the lowest energy states in all the three employed models are
lying at 1800 MeV, about 200 MeV lower than predictions of various
quenched three-quark models. In addition, it is very interesting that the state
with the lowest energy in one gluon exchange model is with spin 3/2, but 1/2 in
the other two models.Comment: Version published in Phys. Rev.
Job Satisfaction and the Labor Market Institutions in Urban China
The determinants of worker job satisfaction are estimated using a representative survey of three major cities in China. Legally segregated migrants, floaters, earn significantly less than otherwise equivalent non-migrants but routinely report greater job satisfaction, a finding not previously reported. We confirm a positive role for membership in the communist party but find that it exists only for non-migrants suggesting a club good aspect to membership. In contrast to earlier studies, many controls mirror those found in western democracies including the "paradox of the contented female worker."job satisfaction, internal migrants, party membership, China
Quantum state engineering with flux-biased Josephson phase qubits by Stark-chirped rapid adiabatic passages
In this paper, the scheme of quantum computing based on Stark chirped rapid
adiabatic passage (SCRAP) technique [L. F. Wei et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 100,
113601 (2008)] is extensively applied to implement the quantum-state
manipulations in the flux-biased Josephson phase qubits. The broken-parity
symmetries of bound states in flux-biased Josephson junctions are utilized to
conveniently generate the desirable Stark-shifts. Then, assisted by various
transition pulses universal quantum logic gates as well as arbitrary
quantum-state preparations could be implemented. Compared with the usual
PI-pulses operations widely used in the experiments, the adiabatic population
passage proposed here is insensitive the details of the applied pulses and thus
the desirable population transfers could be satisfyingly implemented. The
experimental feasibility of the proposal is also discussed.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure

Unraveling the Cationic and Anionic Redox Reactions in a Conventional Layered Oxide Cathode
Increasing interest in high-energy lithium-ion batteries has triggered the demand to clarify the reaction mechanism in battery cathodes during high-potential operation. However, the reaction mechanism often involves both transition-metal and oxygen activities that remain elusive. Here we report a comprehensive study of both cationic and anionic redox mechanisms of LiNiO2 nearly full delithiation. Selection of pure LiNiO2 removes the complication of multiple transition metals. Using combined X-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant inelastic X-ray scattering, and operando differential electrochemical mass spectrometry, we are able to clarify the redox reactions of transition metals in the bulk and at the surface, reversible lattice oxygen redox, and irreversible oxygen release associated with surface reactions. Many findings presented here bring attention to different types of oxygen activities and metal-oxygen interactions in layered oxides, which are of crucial importance to the advancement of a Ni-rich layered oxide cathode for high capacity and long cycling performance
An optimized analytical method for the simultaneous detection of iodoform, iodoacetic acid, and other trihalomethanes and haloacetic acids in drinking water
An optimized method is presented using liquid-liquid extraction and derivatization for the extraction of iodoacetic acid (IAA) and other haloacetic acids (HAA9) and direct extraction of iodoform (IF) and other trihalomethanes (THM4) from drinking water, followed by detection by gas chromatography with electron capture detection (GC-ECD). A Doehlert experimental design was performed to determine the optimum conditions for the five most significant factors in the derivatization step: namely, the volume and concentration of acidic methanol (optimized values = 15%, 1 mL), the volume and concentration of Na2SO4 solution (129 g/L, 8.5 mL), and the volume of saturated NaHCO3 solution (1 mL). Also, derivatization time and temperature were optimized by a two-variable Doehlert design, resulting in the following optimized parameters: an extraction time of 11 minutes for IF and THM4 and 14 minutes for IAA and HAA9; mass of anhydrous Na2SO4 of 4 g for IF and THM4 and 16 g for IAA and HAA9; derivatization time of 160 min and temperature at 40°C. Under optimal conditions, the optimized procedure achieves excellent linearity (R2 ranges 0.9990–0.9998), low detection limits (0.0008–0.2 µg/L), low quantification limits (0.008–0.4 µg/L), and good recovery (86.6%–106.3%). Intra- and inter-day precision were less than 8.9% and 8.8%, respectively. The method was validated by applying it to the analysis of raw, flocculated, settled, and finished waters collected from a water treatment plant in China
