    Factors Which Put Social Workers at a Greater Risk for Burnout

    This systematic review was designed to answer the following research question: What factors put social workers at risk for experiencing burnout. Databases searched were SocINDEX and Social Work Abstracts. Articles pertaining to professional burnout involving social workers were selected based on information gathered in peer-reviewed articles from the database search. Articles were systematically searched using the keywords and phrases secondary trauma, interventions, mental health professions, vicarious trauma, and clinical social workers. Out of the available articles, 14 were selected to be included in this review. Through review 2 primary themes emerged 1) occupational environment and 2) personal factors. Occupational environment refers to the aspects of the work environment that can impact a social worker such as the agency, management, co-workers, and clients. Personal factors refer to aspects of the individual social worker such as personal history of trauma or the coping skills they possess. The research indicated the need for looking at how burnout occurs and can impact social workers. Additionally, it was apparent that there is a necessity to generate research that can be applied across various social work roles

    A gastronomia como fator diferenciador na comunicação dos destinos turísticos : o caso do portal Visit Portugal

    Num mundo cada vez mais globalizado, em que a prática de turismo é progressivamente mais democratizada e acessível a um maior número de pessoas, a competição entre os destinos turísticos é crescentemente acentuada. O turismo é uma fonte de receitas muito significativa, ou até uma das mais importantes de muitos países (como é o caso de Portugal) pelo que atrair (muitos) turistas é uma prioridade na gestão e planeamento dos países. É crucial estabelecer uma imagem de destino diferenciada e única para criar no potencial viajante um sentimento de desejo, ou até necessidade, de visitar determinado país, em detrimento de outros. A gastronomia tem uma pertinência bastante acentuada para o destino Portugal, podendo influenciar a imagem do destino. Tendo em conta que a dieta mediterrânica (baseada no azeite, vegetais frescos, peixe e marisco) foi classificada como Património Imaterial da Humanidade pela UNESCO e a gastronomia é uma parte fulcral da cultura portuguesa, esta pode constituir um fator de diferenciação na comunicação turística do destino. O portal Visit Portugal, recurso oficial online de promoção turística do destino, utiliza diversas ferramentas digitais e redes sociais para efeitos de comunicação, e a presente dissertação avalia o impacto que esta divulgação, em específico da gastronomia portuguesa, tem no seu público-alvo. Apesar do crescente interesse no turismo gastronómico, confirmado através da revisão da literatura e dos resultados do inquérito realizado no âmbito do presente trabalho, e o potencial deste em Portugal, a gastronomia ainda não é classificada como ativo diferenciador em Estratégia Turismo 2027 e a sua divulgação é escassa nas plataformas analisadas.In an increasingly globalized world, where tourism is progressively more democratized and accessible to a larger number of people, the competition between tourist destinations has become intensified. Tourism is one of the most substantial sources of revenue for many economies, such as the Portuguese, which is why attracting (many) tourists is a priority in the management and planning of countries. In order to create in a potential traveler a feeling of desire or even necessity to visit a certain country instead of another, it is important to establish a unique and differentiated destination image. Gastronomy has a significant relevance for the destination Portugal and could have an influence on the destination image. Taking into consideration that the Mediterranean diet (based on olive oil, fresh vegetables, fish and seafood) was classified by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and that gastronomy is a crucial part of the Portuguese culture, it can represent a factor of differentiation in the destination’s tourist communication. The portal Visit Portugal, official web resource for travel and tourism in Portugal, employs various digital tools and social networks to communicate, and this dissertation assesses the impact these promotions (specifically of the Portuguese gastronomy) have on their target market. Despite an increasing interest in food tourism, confirmed not only through the analysis of the state of the art, but also by the survey conducted during the course of this research, and the potential it has in Portugal, gastronomy is not yet classified as a differentiating product in the official tourism strategy (Estratégia Turismo 2027) and its promotion is scarce in the analyzed platforms

    Texture-Governed Cell Response to Severely Deformed Titanium

    The phenomenon of superior biological behavior , r it observed in titanium processed by an unconventional severe plastic deformation method, that is, hydrostatic extrusion, has been described within the present study. In doing so, specimens varying significantly in the crystallographic orientation of grains, yet exhibiting comparable grain refinement, were meticulously investigated. The aim was to find the clear origin of enhanced biocompatibility of titanium-based materials, having microstructures scaled down to the submicron range. Texture, microstructure, and surface characteristics, that is, wettability, roughness, and chemical composition, were examined as well as protein adsorption tests and cell response studies were carried out. It has been concluded that, irrespective of surface properties and mean grain size, the (10 (1) over bar0) crystallographic plane favors endothelial cell attachment on the surface of the severely deformed titanium. Interestingly, an enhanced albumin, fibronectin, and serum adsorption as well as dearly directional growth of the cells with preferentially oriented cell nuclei have been observed on the surfaces having (0001) planes exposed predominantly. Overall, the biological response of titanium fabricated by severe plastic deformation techniques is derived from the synergistic effect of surface irregularities, being the effect of refined microstructures, surface chemistry, and crystallographic orientation of grains rather than grain refinement itself

    Celem artykułu jest wskazanie omawianych w literaturze przedmiotu współzależności między rozwojem gospodarczym a rozwojem infrastruktury i innowacyjnością. Dalej – wykazanie, że na rozwój gospodarczy wpływa oprócz innowacyjności także wyposażenie w infrastrukturę transportu. Weryfikacji poddane zostaną hipotezy: 1) w gospodarkach rozwiniętych innowacyjność i wyposażenie w infrastrukturę transportu są ze sobą silnie skorelowane; 2) zarówno innowacyjność, jak i infrastruktura drogowa pozytywnie wpływają na rozwój gospodarczy. Hipotezy sformułowano na drodze poszukiwania odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy aby dyskontować profity płynące z innowacji należy najpierw zaspokoić potrzeby infrastruktury transportu.The aim of the article is to point discussed in the literature, the relationship between economic development and infrastructure development and innovation. Next – to demonstrate that economic development affects innovation in addition to the provision of infrastructure in transport. Will be subject to verification the hypotheses: 1) innovation in developed economies and equipment in transport infrastructure are highly correlated; 2) both innovation and road infrastructure have a positive impact on economic development. The hypotheses formulated in the search for answers to the question of whether to discount the profits flowing from innovation must first meet the needs of transport infrastructure
