Twist-3 Distribute Amplitude of the Pion in QCD Sum Rules
We apply the background field method to calculate the moments of the pion
two-particles twist-3 distribution amplitude (DA) in QCD sum
rules. In this paper,we do not use the equation of motion for the quarks inside
the pion since they are not on shell and introduce a new parameter to
be determined. We get the parameter in this approach. If
assuming the expansion of in the series in Gegenbauer polynomials
, one can obtain its approximate expression which can be

Fast Searching in Packed Strings
Given strings and the (exact) string matching problem is to find all
positions of substrings in matching . The classical Knuth-Morris-Pratt
algorithm [SIAM J. Comput., 1977] solves the string matching problem in linear
time which is optimal if we can only read one character at the time. However,
most strings are stored in a computer in a packed representation with several
characters in a single word, giving us the opportunity to read multiple
characters simultaneously. In this paper we study the worst-case complexity of
string matching on strings given in packed representation. Let be
the lengths and , respectively, and let denote the size of the
alphabet. On a standard unit-cost word-RAM with logarithmic word size we
present an algorithm using time O\left(\frac{n}{\log_\sigma n} + m +
\occ\right). Here \occ is the number of occurrences of in . For this improves the bound of the Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm.
Furthermore, if our algorithm is optimal since any
algorithm must spend at least \Omega(\frac{(n+m)\log
\sigma}{\log n} + \occ) = \Omega(\frac{n}{\log_\sigma n} + \occ) time to
read the input and report all occurrences. The result is obtained by a novel
automaton construction based on the Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm combined with
a new compact representation of subautomata allowing an optimal

Preliminary characterization of a Moroccan honey with a predominance of Bupleurum spinosum pollen
Honey with Bupleurum spinosum (zandaz) as a main pollen source has not been the subject of previous detailed study. Therefore, twelve Moroccan samples of this honey were subjected to melissopalynological, physicochemical and microbiological quality characterization, as well as antioxidant activity assessment. From a quality point of view, almost all samples were within the limits established by Codex Alimentarius, and/or the European legislation. All samples presented predominance of B. spinosum pollen (more than 48%). Relatively high levels of trehalose (1.3-4.0 g/100 g) and melezitose (1.5-2.8 g/100 g) were detected. Those sugars, not common in monofloral honeys, could be used as an important factor to discriminate zandaz honey. Flavonoid content correlated positively with the honey color, melanoidin and polyphenol content, and negatively with the IC50 values of scavenging ABTS (2,2' - azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) free radicals, while proline amount correlated negatively with IC50 values of nitric oxide scavenging activity and chelating power. This correlation supports the use of anti-oxidant activities as important variables for PCA (principal component analysis). Exciting, Cooling And Vortex Trapping In A Bose-Condensed Gas
A straight forward numerical technique, based on the Gross-Pitaevskii
equation, is used to generate a self-consistent description of
thermally-excited states of a dilute boson gas. The process of evaporative
cooling is then modelled by following the time evolution of the system using
the same equation. It is shown that the subsequent rethermalisation of the
thermally-excited state produces a cooler coherent condensate. Other results
presented show that trapping vortex states with the ground state may be

Fluctuations of an Atomic Ledge Bordering a Crystalline Facet
When a high symmetry facet joins the rounded part of a crystal, the step line
density vanishes as sqrt(r) with r denoting the distance from the facet edge.
This means that the ledge bordering the facet has a lot of space to meander as
caused by thermal activation. We investigate the statistical properties of the
border ledge fluctuations. In the scaling regime they turn out to be

Competing density-wave orders in a one-dimensional hard-boson model
We describe the zero-temperature phase diagram of a model of bosons,
occupying sites of a linear chain, which obey a hard-exclusion constraint: any
two nearest-neighbor sites may have at most one boson. A special case of our
model was recently proposed as a description of a ``tilted'' Mott insulator of
atoms trapped in an optical lattice. Our quantum Hamiltonian is shown to
generate the transfer matrix of Baxter's hard-square model. Aided by exact
solutions of a number of special cases, and by numerical studies, we obtain a
phase diagram containing states with long-range density-wave order with period
2 and period 3, and also a floating incommensurate phase. Critical theories for
the various quantum phase transitions are presented. As a byproduct, we show
how to compute the Luttinger parameter in integrable theories with
hard-exclusion constraints.Comment: 16 page
Heavy-to-light transition form factors and their relations in light-cone QCD sum rules
The improved light-cone QCD sum rules by using chiral current correlator is
systematically reviewed and applied to the calculation of all the
heavy-to-light form factors, including all the semileptonic and penguin ones.
By choosing suitable chiral currents, the light-cone sum rules for all the form
factors are greatly simplified and depend mainly on one leading twist
distribution amplitude of the light meson. As a result, relations between these
form factors arise naturally. At the considered accuracy these relations
reproduce the results obtained in the literature. Moreover, since the explicit
dependence on the leading twist distribution amplitudes is preserved, these
relations may be more useful to simulate the experimental data and extract the

Influence of a low magnetic field on the thermal diffusivity of Bi-2212
The thermal diffusivity of a Bi-2212 polycrystalline sample has been measured
under a 1T magnetic field applied perpendicularly to the heat flux. The
magnetic contribution to the heat carrier mean free path has been extracted and
is found to behave as a simple power law. This behavior can be attributed to a
percolation process of electrons in the vortex lattice created by the magnetic

Dynamical spin correlations in Heisenberg ladder under magnetic field and correlation functions in SO(5) ladder
The zero-temperature dynamical spin-spin correlation functions are calculated
for the spin-1/2 two-leg Heisenberg ladder in a magnetic field above the lower
critical field Hc1. The dynamical structure factors are calculated which
exhibit both massless and massive excitations. These modes appear in different
sectors characterized by the parity in the rung direction and by the momentum
in the direction of the chains. The structure factors have power-law
singularities at the lower edges of their support. The results are also
applicable to spin-1 Heisenberg chain. The implications are briefly discussed
for various correlation functions and the pi-resonance in the SO(5) symmetric
