This report presents the results of tests of a Power plus supercharger and a comparison of its performance with the performance previously obtained with an N.A.C.A. Roots-type supercharger. The Powerplus supercharger is a positive displacement blower of the vane type having mechanically operated vanes, the movement of which is controlled by slots and eccentrics. The supercharger was tested at a range of pressure differences from 0 to 15 inches of mercury and at speeds from 500 to 2,500 r.p.m. The pressure difference across the supercharger was obtained by throttling the intake of a depression tank which was interposed in the air duct between the supercharger and the Durley orifice box used for measuring the air. The results of these tests show that at low pressure differences and at all speeds the power required by the Powerplus supercharger to compress a definite quantity of air per second is considerably higher than that required by the Roots. At pressure differences from 10 to 14 inches of mercury and at speeds over 2,000 r.p.m. the power requirements of the two superchargers are practically the same. At a pressure difference of 15 inches of mercury or greater and at a speed of 2,500 r.p.m. or greater the performance of the Powerplus supercharger is slightly better than that of the Roots. Because the Powerplus supercharger cannot be operated at a speed greater than 3,000 r.p.m. as compared with 7,000 r.p.m. for the Roots, its capacity is approximately one-half that of the Roots for the same bulk. The Powerplus supercharger is more complicated and less reliable than the Roots supercharger

Bharatayudha is the main source in wayang (shadow puppet) performances. This is very interesting to study because the events of the war which in Indian stories are very cruel, sadistic, after becoming a puppet show are very different. The hero or importans figures death is not caused by the violence of the weapon, but by someones promise. This study aims to understand the bharatayudha war in Javanese society. Data was collected by observing the performance of the play Gatutkaca Fall staged by a famous puppeteer, Manteb Sudarsono. This study uses qualitative methods to present data descriptively using a critical discourse analysis (CDA) approach. This research shows that the bharatayudha war according to Javanese society is not understood as a physical war, but as a means of fulfilling the promises of heroes or important figures. Gatutkacas death was not due to the effectiveness of Karnas Kuntawijayadanu weapon, but because of a promise made by Kalabendana, ie Gatutkacas uncle. This study suggests further research on other Bharatayudha serial plays and other puppeteers to get a more comprehensive picture of the Baratayudha play in wayang performances

. Implementation of the budget is a very important stage in the realization of government programs that have been organized in the National budget. The implementation sometime found difficulties, including the realization of the budget tends to be low in the early years and accumulated at the end of the year. According to Rusqiayati (2014), ideally the realization of the government\u27s budget follows the "S-curve" which is tends to be stable at the beginning of the year, then increased in the mid and stabilized towards the end of the fiscal year. This research aims to identify factors that causing the accumutaed of budget realization in the end of the year at Environment and Forestry Research and Development Institute of Manado. This study is a qualitative case study. The key informants in this research are officers or employees directly involved in financial management, such as the Budget Authority (KPA), Committing Officer (CO), official signing of Warrant Pay (PPSPM), Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and Executive Technical Officer ( PTK).The results showed that factors that causing the accumulated of budget realization in the end of the year at Environment and Forestry Research and Development Institute of Manado were budget planning, budget execution, procurement of goods/services, and human resources

Interaction of intense vuv radiation with large xenon clusters

The interaction of atomic clusters with short, intense pulses of laser light to form extremely hot, dense plasmas has attracted extensive experimental and theoretical interest. The high density of atoms within the cluster greatly enhances the atom--laser interaction, while the finite size of the cluster prevents energy from escaping the interaction region. Recent technological advances have allowed experiments to probe the laser--cluster interaction at very high photon energies, with interactions much stronger than suggested by theories for lower photon energies. We present a model of the laser--cluster interaction which uses non-perturbative R-matrix techniques to calculate inverse bremsstrahlung and photoionization cross sections for Herman-Skillman atomic potentials. We describe the evolution of the cluster under the influence of the processes of inverse bremsstrahlung heating, photoionization, collisional ionization and recombination, and expansion of the cluster. We compare charge state distribution, charge state ejection energies, and total energy absorbed with the Hamburg experiment of Wabnitz {\em et al.} [Nature {\bf 420}, 482 (2002)] and ejected electron spectra with Laarmann {\em et al.} [Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 95}, 063402 (2005)]

The results of tests made to determine the performance of a DePalma-Roots supercharger are presented. The performance of the DePalma supercharger with atmospheric pressure at the discharge was compared with that of a hypothetical NACA Roots-type supercharger of the same displacement. The tests were conducted at speeds from 1,000 to 6,000 r.p.m. and at pressure differences from 0 to 15 inches of mercury. The variation in clearance between the impeller tips and the impeller housing was determined for the DePalma supercharger at a speed of 2,000 r.p.m. and for the NACA supercharger at speeds from 500 to 3,000 r.p.m. with the pressure differences for each supercharger varying form 0 to 15 inches of mercury. The results indicate that, if warping and growing of the metals of the case and impellers are neglected, the most uniform clearances can probably be maintained for all operating conditions when the case and impellers are constructed of metals that have the same coefficient of expansion. The results also show that the discharge and intake openings of this model of the DePalma supercharger are too small, which lowers the volumetric efficiency and impairs the performance at all speeds and pressure differences. At high pressure difference the volumetric efficiency of the DePalma supercharger is greater when the discharge pressure surpasses atmospheric pressure than when the discharge pressure is atmospheric
