During the last decades the field of IT has seen an incredible and very rapid development. This development has shown that it is important not only to shift performance and functional boundaries but also to adapt the way human-computer interaction to modern needs. One of the interaction possibilities is a voice control which nowadays can‘t be restricted only to direct commands. The goal of adaptive interaction between man and computer is the human needs understanding. The paper deals with the user's emotional state classification based on the voice track analysis, it describes its own solution - the measurement and the selection process of appropriate voice characteristics using ANOVA analysis and the use of PRAAT software for many voice aspects analysis and for the implementation of own application to classify the user's emotional state from his/her voice. In the paper are presented the results of the created application testing and the possibilities of further expansion and improvement of this solution

Estimation of the thermal diffusivity in a large electroceramic body by an invere method

Paper presented to the 10th International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Florida, 14-16 July 2014.We investigate the temperature dependence of the thermal diffusivity for a large ceramic body of a cylindrical shape during firing up to 900 °C. The body was made of a ceramic material used in the production of electroporcelain insulators. We describe the corresponding heat transfer by the standard heat equation and solve the inverse problem by the Levenberg-Marquardt method. The results show that the method allows one to detect the physical-chemical processes occurring in the material during firing, namely, the liberation of physically bound water in the range up to 250 °C, the phase transformation of kaolinite into metakaolinite (dehydroxyla-tion) in the range ~ 450 °C – 650 °C, and solid-state sintering starting at ~ 700 °C.cf201

The Effect of Different Utilisation Methods on Composition of Semi-Natural Grassland

There has been much research on application of mineral fertilisers to permanent grasslands to maximise production of above-ground phytomass (Folkman & Jančovič 1990), but the changes arising after exclusion of fertilisers have not been studied in Slovak Republic up to now despite current interest in low input ststems. This paper reports on the effects of cessation of fertiliser inputs for an eight-year period

Lithosphere in the Western Carpathians and its surrounding tectonic units - Geophysical study

Geophysical methods are important tools for the investigation of the structure and geodynamic development of the lithosphere. The central and eastern parts of the Western Carpathians are bordered in the north by a thicker  and stronger lithosphere of the European platform (100-150  km), which is underthrust (about of 50 km) beneath the margin of the overriding Carpathian orogen. This thickening is interpreted as remnants of subducted slabs. In contrast, the “thin” lithosphere at the western margin of the Western Carpathians can be considered as a result of oblique collision along a deep-seated transform zone between the platform and orogenic lithosphere. Neo-Alpine “soft” collision and retreating subduction of this orogen can also be discovered by means of quantitative interpretation of observed gravity field. The crustal thickness in the Western Carpathians ranges among 27-35 km. The central Western Carpathians are characterized by thicker crust (30-55 km) in comparison with thinner crust (25-30 km) in the Pannonian Basin System. This feature is probably the result of the youngest lithosphere processes from the Middle Miocene. Rheological properties of the Western Carpathian lithosphere show that the mechanical strengths decrease within the whole lithosphere from the area of the European platform via the Western Carpathians to the Pannonian Basin. The most remarkable and important first-order tectonic structures (seismo-tectonic zones) in  the Western Carpathians are the zones of the Pieniny Klippen Belt, the Mur-Mürz-Leitha fault zone, the Čertovica fault zone and the Hurbanovo line. Map of neo-Alpine fault systems and neotectonic regions (blocks) of  Slovakia was defined

New magnetic anomalies of the Outer Carpathians in NE Slovakia and their relationship to the Carpathian Conductivity Zone

    No full text
A hitherto unknown magnetic anomaly has been detected in the framework of assembling magnetic picture of the Slovakian territory. The impressive magnetic object was recognized in the northeasternmost part of Slovakia within the area which is created by sediments of the Flysch belt. This is certain rarity because the Flysch sequence is practically without magnetic rocks. Due to this was obvious that anomaly is caused by an exotic rocks complex, intruded into Flysch sediments. The shape and the character of anomalous body indicated that source of anomaly is located in the shallow depth under surface relatively. The anomaly has been modelled in the 2D. Source of magnetic anomaly was interpreted as the product of Neogene volcanism – neck of intermediate rocks. Besides of this there were found out other minor anomalies within this area which might be caused also by smaller subvolcanic bodies. The Carpathian Conductivity Anomaly is located in the proximity of new observed magnetic anomalies. Due to this fact it is possible to open new view on the importance of this zone. In the case of justification of such interpretation the area might be interesting for its potential prognosis of hydrocarbons occurrence, metallogenetic prominence, as well as possibilities for underground storage of carbon dioxide

A review of progress in modelling of induced geoelectric and geomagnetic fields with special regard to induced currents

The Earth’s lithosphere and mantle respond to Space Weather through time-varying, depth-dependent induced magnetic and electric fields. Understanding the properties of these electromagnetic fields is a key consideration in modelling the hazard to technological systems from Space Weather. In this paper we review current understanding of these fields, in terms of regional and global-scale geology and geophysics. We highlight progress towards integrated European-scale models of geomagnetic and geoelectric fields, specifically for the purposes of modelling geomagnetically induced currents in power grids and pipelines
