Recently, blackouts in Palangka Raya, capital city of Central Kalimantan became more and more often. PT. PLN Palangka Raya branch was always put the blame on the dry season that caused the dam in RiamKanan to have dried resulting in the shutdown of their power engine thus to turn off the electricity supply to every area including Palangka Raya. Endowed with rich natural resources including energy resources such as oil and coal, it is unlikely to see that this region was suffered from lack of power. There must be something wrong in the electricity supply policy from central government in the arrangement of energy. This is one of the reasons why this topic is deemed important as the background of the research. This research aims to find electricity supply policy for Central Kalimantan Province by reviewing the current and future electricity supply policy in order to meet the future electricity demand up to 2025. The current electricity consumptions are calculated based on the historical data and future electricity demand for Central Kalimantan. The methodology used in this research is historical analysis to get the trend of the supply and demand and the review of electricity planning of PT. PLN 2006-2025 in order to meet the future electricity demand. The review on the effect of the coal-fired power plant is also discussed to give readers a clear understanding on the effect of coal-fired power plant on human health in long term. Finally, the objective of this research beside to find electricity supply policy for the Central Kalimantan province, is also to give a clear understanding of the consequences our next generation will face by choosing a certain electricity supply policy reflected in the RUPTL made by PT. PLN. Still this research has many limitations which open further research to give more comprehensive electricity supply for Central Kalimantan such as the more accurate data collecting, method used and time constraint

The use of CRISPR-Cas9 has revolutionized functional genetic work in many organisms, including more and more insect species. However, successful gene editing or genetic transformation has not yet been reported for chelicerates, the second largest group of terrestrial animals. Within this group, some mite and tick species are economically very important for agriculture and human health, and the availability of a gene-editing tool would be a significant advancement for the field. Here, we report on the use of CRISPR-Cas9 in the spider mite Tetranychus urticae. The ovary of virgin adult females was injected with a mix of Cas9 and sgRNAs targeting the phytoene desaturase gene. Natural mutants of this laterally transferred gene have previously shown an easy-to-score albino phenotype. Albino sons of injected virgin females were mated with wild-type females, and two independent transformed lines where created and further characterized. Albinism inherited as a recessive monogenic trait. Sequencing of the complete target-gene of both lines revealed two different lesions at expected locations near the PAM site in the target-gene. Both lines did not genetically complement each other in dedicated crosses, nor when crossed to a reference albino strain with a known genetic defect in the same gene. In conclusion, two independent mutagenesis events were induced in the spider mite T. urticae using CRISPR-Cas9, hereby providing proof-of-concept that CRISPR-Cas9 can be used to create gene knockouts in mites

SMKN 1 Banama Tingang is a vocational school located on 3 Padat Karya St, Pangi Village, Regency of Pulang Pisau. This school has three departments namely Welding Technology Department, Building Technology Department, and Accounting Department. Welding Technology Department is a department with the least number of students in the school which reflected the low interest in this department. One of reasons for that is due to misperception that this department is for construction worker. Another reason is due to lack of facilities for practice such as water pass. Therefore, one of solutions is to conduct the training for the use of water pass to measure land. During the training it can be seen that the interest in this department is increasing. Many questions were asked by students on how to use water pass. In the training, students were divided into several groups to match the number of water pass brought in this training. Students of PTB were actively involved to assist in the training. The training results showed that the interest of the student had increased, not only students from Building Department, but also from another departments. This indicates that the training was useful especially for the students of the school as well as PTB students involved in the training

Classroom A (16 students) as the experiment group where the learning model will be applied, and Classroom B (16 students) as the control group where the verbal learning will be applied. Data collected from the post test result on the both group is tcalculated= 5,35 > ttable= 2,042 on the significancy level 5% dan df = (16+16-2) = 30.It can be seen that tcalculated ttable, thus Ho was rejected and HI was accepted so it can be concluded that there is an influence of learning model Take And Give on the student’s study result

HYDRAULIC CONDUCTIVITY OF PEATLAND WITH BOUWER AND RICE (1976) One TEST WELL

    Get PDF
This research aims at finding the hydraulic conductivity of the peatland on the location of canal blocking at the Bukit Tunggal subdistrict Jl. Cilik Riwut Km.13 Palangka Raya. It has been known that the hydraulic conductivity of the peatland is different from the ones from mineral soil. Peat soil consists of organic materials with high concentration which come from degradation of plants, in submerged and anaerobic conditions. In this research a well is built with 0,2m, 0,4m, 0,6m dan 0,7m deep in which the hydraulic conductivity will be calculated for each depth. The results shows that the hydraulic conductivity values are 7,823 x 10-7 ms-1, 6,3890 x 10-7 ms-1, 5,698 x 10-6 ms-1, dan 1,717 x 10-7 ms-1, respectively. These results are in accordance with the passed research in hydraulic conductivity values. Therefore, it can be concluded that the value of hydraulic conductivity is getting smaller when the depth of soil is increasing. It is because the maturity level of peat is different in different depth. More depth means denser the peat is. Therefore, lesser K value is found in deeper peat with lesser porosity
