Faraday waves in elongated superfluid fermionic clouds
We use hydrodynamic equations to study the formation of Faraday waves in a
superfluid Fermi gas at zero temperature confined in a strongly elongated
cigar-shaped trap. First, we treat the role of the radial density profile in
the limit of an infinite cylindrical geometry and analytically evaluate the
wavelength of the Faraday pattern. The effect of the axial confinement is fully
taken into account in the numerical solution of hydrodynamic equations and
shows that the infinite cylinder geometry provides a very good description of
the phenomena.Comment: 6 pages, 7 figures. Figures 4 and 6 in high resolution on reques
A first-order purely frame-formulation of General Relativity
In the gauge natural bundle framework a new space is introduced and a
first-order purely frame-formulation of General Relativity is obtained.Comment: 9 Pages, Submitted to Classical and Quantum Gravit
A torsional completion of gravity for Dirac matter fields and its applications to neutrino oscillations
In this paper, we consider the torsional completion of gravitation for an
underlying background filled with Dirac fields, applying it to the problem of
neutrino oscillations: we discuss the effects of the induced torsional
interactions as corrections to the neutrino oscillation mechanism.Comment: 4 page
Two-dimensional boson-fermion mixtures
Using mean-field theory, we study the equilibrium properties of boson-fermion
mixtures confined in a harmonic pancake-shaped trap at zero temperature. When
the modulus of the s-wave scattering lengths are comparable to the mixture
thickness, two-dimensional scattering events introduce a logarithmic dependence
on density in the coupling constants, greatly modifying the density profiles
themselves. We show that for the case of a negative boson-fermion
three-dimensional s-wave scattering length, the dimensional crossover
stabilizes the mixture against collapse and drives it towards spatial demixing.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure

The Cauchy problem for metric-affine f(R)-gravity in presence of a Klein-Gordon scalar field
We study the initial value formulation of metric-affine f(R)-gravity in
presence of a Klein-Gordon scalar field acting as source of the field
equations. Sufficient conditions for the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem
are formulated. This result completes the analysis of the same problem already
considered for other sources.Comment: 6 page
