Reviewing effectivity in security approaches towards strengthening internet architecture

    Get PDF
The usage of existing Internet architecture is shrouded by various security loopholes and hence is highly ineffective towards resisting potential threats over internet. Hence, it is claimed that future internet architecture has been evolved as a solution to address this security gaps of existing internet architecture. Therefore, this paper initiates its discussion by reviewing the existing practices of web security in conventional internet architecture and has also discussed about some recent solutions towards mitigating potentially reported threats e.g. cross-site scripting, SQL inject, and distributed denial-of-service. The paper has also discussed some of the recent research contribution towards security solution considering future internet architecture. The proposed manuscripts contributes to showcase the true effectiveness of existing approaches with respect to advantages and limitation of existing approaches along with explicit highlights of existing research problems that requires immediate attention

The effect of some ecological factors on the intestinal parasite loads of the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) in Southern India

Some ecological factors that might potentially influence intestinal parasite loads in the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus Linn.) were investigated in the Nilgiris, southern India. Fresh dung samples from identified animals were analysed, and the number of eggs/g of dung used as an index of parasite load. Comparisons across seasons and habitats revealed that parasite loads were significantly higher during the dry season than the wet season, but were not different between the dry-deciduous and dry-thorn forests in either season. After accounting for the effect of age on body condition, there was no correlation between body condition, assessed visually using morphological criteria, and parasite load in either season. Individuals of different elephant herds were not characterized by distinct parasite communities in either season. When intra-individual variation was examined, samples collected from the same individual within a day differed significantly in egg densities, while the temporal variation over several weeks or months (within a season) was much less. Egg densities within dung piles were uniform, enabling a simpler collection method henceforth

Generic Approaches for Node Co operation in Ad hoc Networks

    Get PDF
In this paper, we review the approaches that uses the Generic methods to enforce cooperation in ad hoc routing. A very common assumption in the analysis and development of networking algorithms is the full co-operation of the participating nodes. However, the reality may differ considerably. The existence of multiple domains belonging to different authorities or even the selfishness of the nodes themselves could result in a performance that significantly deviates from the expected one. This review aims at providing the most popular Generic approaches to avoid selfishness in forwarding packets in ad hoc networks. This paper also discusses briefly the applications and issues in ad hoc wireless networks

Internet of Things: Usage of LiFi and Need for Flow Control Protocol

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the future of Internet. It is the network of physical objects accessed through Internet. The objects have embedded sensors that will capture potentially enormous amounts of data, A processing system inside the object processes the captured data and these processed data are to be transmitted as quickly as possible. Thus there is a requirement for high bandwidth network and appropriate data transfer protocols

Effectiveness of an Educational Interactive Video-DVD on Dairy Health Management Practices in Terms of Knowledge Gain among Dairy Farmers

This study was undertaken with the goal of improving the Indian dairy sector by enhancing knowledge and skill among dairy farmers on animal health care; thereby enabling increased productivity and minimizing economic loss. The study focused on members of milk co-operative societies of Kannur district, Kerala, India. Though the milk co-operatives were organized institutions, they lacked much needed knowledge and skill enhancement of their member-farmers. Most rural households in Kerala own television sets and DVD players. Hence, an educational interactive video-DVD on dairy health management practices was considered as an appropriate medium to disseminate knowledge on dairy health management practices to them. Sixty dairy farmers owning a DVD player and a television were selected as the sample population for study by means of proportionate random sampling among four milk co-operative societies identified in Kannur block. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of the respondents possessed medium level of knowledge at the pre-exposure stage, while in the post-exposure stage, a majority rose to the high knowledge category. The respondents who had low knowledge regarding various livestock diseases, their causes, symptoms, prevention and control gained considerable knowledge after exposure to the educational interactive video-DVD. The difference observed between the mean scores of knowledge level of respondents in pre and post-exposure stages was found to be statistically significant

Now-a-days demand of the electricity is increasing. India has struggled to resolve its energy shortage problems for decades. As the country is now facing an exotic energy crisis, the drive to find effective long-term energy solutions is stronger now than ever before. Renewable energy resources such as wind and solar energy are abundant in India. It is environmental friendly and also low cost. Renewable energy is only the root causes of this demand. The present situation of the electricity production and its consumption in the country were discussed. The solar energy generation potential of India in different sectors to produce energy is viewed. Energy crisis of solar energy has been reporting in MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy). In our nation, we are using some types of solar scheme. Under that scheme solar park and solar rooftop are popularly in practice to produce solar energy. The importance of utilization of solar energy resources for the production of electric power. The production rate is high in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, but low in Meghalaya and Puducherry. These renewable energy resources can play an effective and also considerable role in contributing toward energy security of the country. Developments of solar technology in before and after independent were presented and the future developments were discussed. Some prediction is made on the basis of preliminary observations. The flow chart of an estimated forecast of demand and supply of electricity for the next ten years is also projected in this paper.
