n?veis: epigen?tico, transcricional, p?s-transcricional e traducional. Esses RNAs s?o divididos
codificantes (lncRNAs), o foco desse projeto.
Schistosomiasis is a debilitating disease of great socioeconomic impact in the world caused by
flatworms of the genus Schistosoma. One of the main species identified in this genus is the
parasite Schistosoma mansoni, which presents a very complex life cycle. The differentiation
and development programs complexity observed among the different evolutionary stages and
environments where the parasite lives depend on the gene expression. Non-coding RNAs
represent one of the major classes of molecules that potentially control gene regulation at levels:
epigenetic, transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and translational. These RNAs are divided into
two large groups, the small non-coding RNAs and the long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), the
focus of this study. The lncRNAs correspond to transcripts with more than 200 nucleotides and
are not responsible for protein coding. In particular, they are involved in several cellular
regulatory functions, such as regulating transcription, inducing chromatin remodeling and
histone modifications, originating endogenous siRNAs, modulating protein activities, altering
cell localization of proteins, being precursors of small RNAs and others functions. This study
hypothesis is that S. mansoni expresses a set of lncRNAs differentially by reprogramming their
gene expression at certain evolutionary stages. To investigate it, a set of available RNA-seq
data was used for the adult phase of the parasite aiming at: (i) assembling a pipeline to identify
and characterize lncRNAs from highly reliable RNA-seq data; (ii) classify the novel lncRNAs
predicted using the Gene Ontology annotation; (iii) to analyze the expression of a set of 20
lncRNAs in cercariae, schistosomules with 3.5 h of in vitro culture, males, females, couple and
eggs; (iv) to analyze the expression of lncRNAs in praziquantel resistant parasites and (v) to
analyze the expression of lncRNAs in the liver of infected and uninfected S. mansoni mice. We
identified 170 new Sm-lncRNAs with terms of ontology related to metabolism, transport and
biosynthesis. Fifteen of them showed differential expression in the evaluated stages, as well as
between males and females. Some showed differential expression in parasites with resistance
to praziquantel and in liver of infected mice. These findings highlight new perspectives for
functional studies focused on resistance to this drug and specific biomarkers development for
schistosomiasis

The recent heritage concept expansion allows new approaches and challenges to interpreting the different social groups cultural references. This article suggests a dialogue between memory and heritage in Pilar, Crixás, and Pirenópolis (Goiás - Brazil), through understanding of their histories, reminiscences, absences in modified places, disputes around memory and different meanings. The methodology is based on a bibliographic review, a documentary research, participant observation in fieldwork and interviews (semi-structured, narratives and photo interviews) with residents of the three municipalities, during 2013 and 2021. Despite, the different spatial clipping, and the multiple motivations that are consolidated around the theme of heritage in the cases studied, all of them point to the centrality of the people and their values, demonstrating their polysemic, pluri-significant character and loaded with “will of memory”.La reciente ampliación del concepto de patrimonio permite nuevas perspectivas y impone desafíos en la interpretación de referencias culturales de diferentes grupos sociales. Mathematical modeling applied to the analysis of magmatic intrusions thermal influence in Paraná Basin
This paper has the objective to present equations capable of generating one-dimensional models that permit to quantify the thermal influence caused by igneous intrusions. In Paraná Basin, the petroleum systems were great influenced by igneous activitiesin which they as presented by a thick lava effusion, a large number of dykes in the entire sedimentary section and various levels of sills intruded in stratifications in order to provide thermal energy for organic maturation. Thus, a better understanding of how and how much the intrusions affect the generation of oil and gas is extremely necessary since the knowledge related to the effects of intrusions in such atypical petroleum system is still insufficient. The obtained results show: the thermal influence caused by igneous intrusions is much higher than that proposed in the literature; the presence of multiple intrusions, based on the oil and gas window considered and as a function of it thickness, causes between them, unfavorable thermal influence to the generation of hydrocarbons in small distances and favorable thermal influence in large distances

IF/00225/2015The multistate of species originated by the compound 5-hydroxy-4′-dimethylaminoflavylium was studied in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles 0.1 M. A series of pH jumps obtained by addition of base to the equilibrated solutions of the flavylium cation results in a metastable equilibrium between the flavylium cation and the quinoidal base with pKa = 7.6. In neutral to moderately basic medium, only at 60 °C and after 5 days a new distribution involving the flavylium cation and trans-chalcones is achieved. On the other hand, the anionic trans-chalcone can be formed in few minutes in very basic medium at room temperature and from this, another meta-stable state constituted by protonated, neutral and anionic trans-chalcones, pKCt+/Ct = 2.6 and pKCt/Ct- = 10.7 is reached. The equilibrium is apparently attained between flavylium cation, neutral and anionic trans-chalcones respectively for pKAH+/Ct = 4.1 and pKCt/Ct- = 10.7. Irradiation of the neutral (stable or metastable) and protonated (meta-stable) trans-chalcones yields to the appearance of the quinoidal base or the flavylium cation in an extended pH region 1 < pH < 10. The peculiar properties of this flavylium based photochromic system are explained by means of an energy level diagram where cis-chalcone and hemiketal lay above the quinoidal base.authorsversionpublishe
Mechanical soil management has a huge impact on early plant development and can promote effects at all stages of the silage forage production cycle. Thus, this work was conducted to verify if a mechanized system of soil preparation influences the accumulation of pigeon pea and corn biomass. The experiment was conducted at the farm school of Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science. The experimental delimitation chosen was randomized blocks, the treatments were two systems of tillage (conventional and reduced), associated to two crops (Cajanus cajan L., cv. BRS Mandarim e Zea mays L. hybrid TG Status). The cv. BRS Mandarim in conventional tillage system impacted higher biomass values. In addition, the same soil preparation system promoted oscillations between the crops (P<0.05), where cv. BRS Mandarim showed biomass values 7% higher than cv. Status TG. In reduced handling system, the crops presented the same biomass productivity. Despite the increase of dry weight during the cycle of cv. BRS Mandarim biomass production, there was a reduction in the dry matter fraction, indicating that the specific weight per plant decreased at the end of the evaluation period. The tillage system that was fulfilled conventionally promoted higher estimates of pigeon pea biomass. Corn was not influenced by mechanized tillage system. A cv. Status TG.

Does pre-training on brain-related tasks results in better deep-learning-based brain age biomarkers?
Brain age prediction using neuroimaging data has shown great potential as an
indicator of overall brain health and successful aging, as well as a disease
biomarker. Deep learning models have been established as reliable and efficient
brain age estimators, being trained to predict the chronological age of healthy
subjects. In this paper, we investigate the impact of a pre-training step on
deep learning models for brain age prediction. More precisely, instead of the
common approach of pre-training on natural imaging classification, we propose
pre-training the models on brain-related tasks, which led to state-of-the-art
results in our experiments on ADNI data. Furthermore, we validate the resulting
brain age biomarker on images of patients with mild cognitive impairment and
Alzheimer's disease. Interestingly, our results indicate that better-performing
deep learning models in terms of brain age prediction on healthy patients do
not result in more reliable biomarkers.Comment: Accepted at BRACIS 202
