Influence of magnetic entropy on stability and thermodynamic properties of Laves phase Fe2Mo from first principles

The thermodynamic and physical properties of the Laves phase Fe2Mo have been investigated using the finite-temperature quantum mechanical calculations within the frame of the density functional theory (DFT). All relevant free energy contributions including electronic, vibrational and magnetic excitations are considered. The quasi-harmonic Debye - Gruneisen theory is used. In this work, a new method of searching a thermal expansion path of compounds is proposed. It allows to reduce the problem to a one-dimensional case and minimize the free energy in one variable, in volume. The heat capacity, thermal expansion, elastic constants and bulk modulus are modelled. The calculated results analyzed and are in an agreement with the available experimental data. It is shown that magnetic entropy must be considered on equal footing with vibrational and electronic energies to reliably predict stability of Fe2Mo.Comment: 23 pages, 18 figures, 8 tables. In Russian law, the term "good faith" ("good conscience") refers to different concepts: "honest practice" and "ignorance of the fact when such ignorance generates legal consequences." The article investigate  the educational aspects of distinguishing  objective and subjective good faith. The questions of application of the rules on subjective good faith to the relations arising in connection with the establishment, circulation and protection of civil rights are considered. The analysis of the content of the legal regime of objects of absolute property rights (things, property security, share in the right of common property, corporate rights) allowed us to conclude that the consideration of the rules on subjective good faith is a natural, necessary element of the legal regime of any object of civil turnover, and the real question is only the recognition of such an element of the legal regime by the rule of law and the definition of the features of its application

Kuldja Under Russian Rule: View of the Imperial Administration

Introduction. The article is devoted to the review of the situation in Kuldja in the first half of the Russian domination there (1871–1876). Modern Russian historiography does not know the works that would describe the real measures of the Russian administration in this part of Russian possessions in Central Asia. Methods and materials. The article analyzes the main source – a note by N.N. Pantusov with information about Kuldja District. Regulatory acts on Russian governance in the area are used as additional sources. The comparative and critical analysis of sources is of interest. Analysis and Results. The Russian administration immediately outlined its main tasks: ensuring safety of the population, maintaining a civilian traditional way of life and governance, and equal rights for all local peoples. Destroying everything unprofitable for both states (Russia and China), the Russian administration refrained from fundamental innovations. The analysis of the sources carried out in the article allows to conclude that the Russian presence in the Ili region was temporary and even nominal indeed. The dispensing of the most fundamental articles of the Statute on the Governing of the Semirechenskaya and Syrdarya Provinces of 1867 to this district indicates the intention to facilitate the management of the new territory. And all the innovations indicate the presence of two trends. One of them was to form an attractive image of the Russian government. Another trend was aimed at spreading of all-Russian institutions to the district. Both of these trends demonstrate the intention of the representatives of the local Russian administration to keep Kuldja within the Russian Empire. The main source was published during the period of discussing the need to return the Ili region to China. However, there is no reason to argue that it was created for public announcement

Thesis (Ph. D.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2008.This electronic version was submitted by the student author. The certified thesis is available in the Institute Archives and Special Collections.Includes bibliographical references (p. 133-142).Model order reduction methods have proved to be an important technique for accelerating time-domain simulation in a variety of computer-aided design tools. In this study we present several new techniques for model reduction of the large-scale linear and nonlinear systems. First, we present a method for nonlinear system reduction based on a combination of the trajectory piecewise-linear (TPWL) method with truncated-balanced realizations (TBR). We analyze the stability characteristics of this combined method using perturbation theory. Second, we describe a linear reduction method that approximates TBR model reduction and takes advantage of sparsity of the system matrices or available accelerated solvers. This method is based on AISIAD (approximate implicit subspace iteration with alternate directions) and uses low-rank approximations of a system's gramians. This method is shown to be advantageous over the common approach of independently approximating the controllability and observability gramians, as such independent approximation methods can be inefficient when the gramians do not share a common dominant eigenspace. Third, we present a graph-based method for reduction of parameterized RC circuits. We prove that this method preserves stability and passivity of the models for nominal reduction. We present computational results for large collections of nominal and parameter-dependent circuits. Finally, we present a case study of model reduction applied to electroosmotic flow of a marker concentration pulse in a U-shaped microfluidic channel, where the marker flow in the channel is described by a three-dimensional convection-diffusion equation. First, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the modified AISIAD method in generating a low order models that correctly describe the dispersion of the marker in the linear case; that is, for the case of concentration-independent mobility and diffusion constants.(cont) Next, we describe several methods for nonlinear model reduction when the diffusion and mobility constants become concentration-dependent.by Dmitry Missiuro Vasilyev.Ph.D

Modeling of the Payload Signal Generator of the UAV Radio Transmitter based on the Phase Distortion Autocompensator

A block diagram of a payload signal generator of a UAV radio transmitter with an autocompensator for phase distortion of a digital computational synthesizer with improved spectral characteristics compared to known solutions is considered. Schematic diagrams and circuit design models of the main paths of the shaper in the Micro-Cap environment with the analysis of the characteristics of the necessary radio elements and microcircuits have been developed. The simulation of the device operation in the frequency domain is carried out. Based on the simulation results, the conditions for selecting the parameters of the shaper to achieve the greatest compensation of phase distortions are formulated
