Erdei fák fitoftórás betegségei = Phytophthora diseases of Forest Trees
| During the research the incidence and significance of the Phytophthora species was explored on the forest trees in Hungary. Trees and forest stands showing disease symptoms were investigated in different regions of the country. Special isolations were carried out from soil, bark and root samples. The isolates were identified based on the phenotypical and some physiological features. The pathogenicity of the isolates was proved by the necrosis resulted in the wound inoculation of the stem of seedlings. The incidence of the Phytophthora species and their role in the disease and decline processes was confirmed in the Alnus glutinosa, Juglans nigra, Quercus petraea and Quercus cerris. At least five Phytophthora species or species complex in Alnus glutinosa, two in Juglans nigra and Quercus petraea and one in Quercus cerris were delimited. The revision of the identification of the species is in progress by molecular methods
Dirac eigenmodes at the QCD Anderson transition
Recently we found an Anderson-type localization-delocalization transition in
the QCD Dirac spectrum at high temperature. Using spectral statistics we
obtained a critical exponent compatible with that of the corresponding Anderson
model. Here we study the spatial structure of the eigenmodes both in the
localized and the transition region. Based on previous studies in the Anderson
model, at the critical point, the eigenmodes are expected to have a scale
invariant multifractal structure. We verify the scale invariance of Dirac
eigenmodes at the critical point.Comment: to appear in Proceedings of The 32nd International Symposium on

Szilárdtestek törése és fragmentációja = Fracture and fragmentation of solids
| We investigated the damage and fracture of disordered materials under constant and periodically varying external loads. We showed that the system is characterized by universal scaling laws when approaching the critical time of macroscopic fracture, which can be used to design forecasting techniques of the imminent failure event. As two possible microscopic mechanisms of creep rupture and fatigue fracture, we studied in details the effect of non-linear damage accumulation and of the thermal fluctuations. We performed experiments to obtain a deeper understanding of the fragmentation of closed shell structures due to energetic explosions. We pointed out that the breakup of shells is a two-step process, where the first phase of the process is determined by tensile stresses, while the second one is dominated by bending forces. We found that the shape of fragments obeys also universal scaling laws, furthermore, the fragments of large mass exhibit a strong mass-velocity correlation. We analyzed the structure of electric and magnetic noise spectra recorded during dynamic fracture of ferromagnetic materials. We worked out a fiber bundle model which provides a comprehensive description of the crack propagation and the emergence of crackling noise
Bifurcation Structure Of A Periodically Driven Bubble Oscillator Near Blake’s Critical Threshold
It is well-known that gas/vapour bubbles in liquids growth
indefinitely if the ambient pressure exceeds Blake’s critical
threshold. For several decades of investigations, researchers
tried to find numerical evidence for the stabilization of
such bubbles by applying a harmonically varying pressure
field on the liquid domain (ultrasonic irradiation) in this
regime, with only partial success. Since, the applied
linearization on the bubble models restricted the findings
only for small amplitude radial oscillations. Therefore, the
present paper intends to reveal the particularly complex
dynamics of a harmonically excited bubble near, but still
below Blake’s threshold. The computed solutions with a
variety of periodicity, e.g., from period 1 up to period 9,
form a well-organised structure with respect to the pressure
amplitude of the excitation, provided that the applied
frequency is higher than the first subharmonic resonance
frequency of the bubble. This predictable behaviour provides
a good basis for further investigation to find the relevant
stable oscillations beyond Blake’s threshold. Although, the
investigated model is the very simple Rayleigh—Plesset
equation, the applied numerical technique is free of the
restriction of low amplitude oscillations
