The role of creation in the didactical traditions in Hungary

In the didactics of mathematics, a lot of such research appeared in the past twenty-thirty years that consider both mathematics and mathematics education as a cultural activity [20]. In this approach, didactical texts and social space are carriers of beliefs created about mathematics education. Similarly, the investigation of beliefs has strengthened in the past two decades [33]. In our paper, we examine what relationship appears between the beliefs of the Hungarian didactic tradition existing in written texts or personal contacts, and those of Hungarian mathematics teachers. Mathematikunterricht in Ungarn – Traditionen und Erneuerungen : Stellung, Ziele, Inhalt und Ergebnisse des Mathematikunterrichts der oberen Klassen der ungarischen Schulen

Der ungarische Mathematikunterricht befindet sich im Moment zwischen verschiedenen Polen: eine starke nationale Tradition und der Anspruch an eine Modernisierung, die anwachsende Zentralisierung in der öffentlichen Bildung und die methodische Freiheit in den Schulstunden, eine herausragend erfolgreiche Begabtenförderung und eine große Anzahl von Schülerinnen und Schülern, die gegen Ende der Mittelschule nur ein sehr niedriges Niveau in Mathematik erreichen. In unserem Beitrag steht der Mathematikunterricht in den Mittelschulen im Mittelpunkt. Neben der Beschreibung des institutionellen Rahmens wird auch auf die Reformen des Nationalcurriculums 2020 eingegangen. Diese streben an, unter Wahrung der wertvollen Traditionen des ungarischen Bildungssystems die Herausforderungen in der öffentlichen Bildung zu bewältigen
