New approach to evaluate the TOWS matrix and its application in a mining company

SWOT analyses and the closely related TOWS matrix are frequent starting points for an organization to develop its strategy. The paper deals with the evaluation of the TOWS matrix and presents three novel approaches to evaluate the different factors of the TOWS matrix, namely (1) approach to evaluate the factors with identical weights; (2) approach to evaluate factors with their weights determined within the different quadrants of the TOWS matrix; and (3) approach to evaluate factors with weights determined within the whole TOWS matrix. The third approach has two variants. The proposed approaches to evaluate the TOWS matrix were tested on a SWOT analysis of a significant mining company in the Czech Republic. The results imply that the strategy W-T (weaknesses-threats) is recommended in three cases, while the strategy S-T (strengths-threats) is recommended once. Agent-based Simulation of the Maritime Domain

In this paper, a multi-agent based simulation platform is introduced that focuses on legitimate and illegitimate aspects of maritime traffic, mainly on intercontinental transport through piracy afflicted areas. The extensible architecture presented here comprises several modules controlling the simulation and the life-cycle of the agents, analyzing the simulation output and visualizing the entire simulated domain. The simulation control module is initialized by various configuration scenarios to simulate various real-world situations, such as a pirate ambush, coordinated transit through a transport corridor, or coastal fishing and local traffic. The environmental model provides a rich set of inputs for agents that use the geo-spatial data and the vessel operational characteristics for their reasoning. The agent behavior model based on finite state machines together with planning algorithms allows complex expression of agent behavior, so the resulting simulation output can serve as a substitution for real world data from the maritime domain

Use of selected fluorescence techniques to characterization of microbial cells

Karotenoidy patří mezi nejrozšířenější přírodní pigmenty s mnohostranným potenciálem využití. Dlouho upřednostňovaná (levnější) metoda syntetické přípravy v posledních letech dostává stále vážnější konkurenci v podobě zdokonalované biotechnologické produkce. Ke zlevnění biotechnologické produkce může přispět také koncept on-line optimalizace a online analýz. Jednou z metod on-line optimalizace je průtoková cytometrie. V této práci byla zkoumána závislost intenzity autofluorescence kvasničných buněk na koncentraci karotenoidů v biomase a bylo ustanoveno číselné vyjádření těchto závislostí pomocí lineární regrese. Dále byla zkoumána závislost mezi rozptylovými parametry kvasničných buněk a množstvím sušiny ve vzorku. S pomocí modelu, který využívá přímého a bočního rozptylu světla spolu s informací o počtu buněk na jednotku objemu byla nalezena funkční závislost v podobě rovnice přímky. Buňky kvasinek byly zkoumány také pod laserovým skenovacím konfokálním mikroskopem za účelem lokalizace karotenoidů v buňce. Uskutečněné experimenty nasvědčují, že se karotenoidy nacházejí v zásobních lipidických granulích uvnitř buňky, další experimenty jsou však zapotřebí pro jednoznačné prokázání.Carotenoids are one of the most abundant natural pigment. Furthermore, they have great potential for wide industrial utilization. Nowadays, prefered (and cheaper) synthetic method counters progressively improved biotechnological production. Far more cheaper production should be reached via implementing methods of on-line optimization, such as flow cytometry. In this thesis the dependence of yeasts autotofluorescence intensity on carotenoids concentration in dry mass was studied. The dependence was established by means of linear regression. Moreover, the dependence between light scatter and the amount of dry mass was established by means of model utilizing forward scatter, side scatter and number of cells in unit volume. Yeasts' cells was also studied under the lenses of laser scanning confocal microscope. The goal was to localize carotenoids inside cells. Experiments undertaken suggest that they are localized inside the lipidic granules, but more experiments are required for a proof.

Safety Assesment of the Těšetice Dam during Floods

V rámci této diplomové práce je provedeno zhodnocení stávajícího stavu VD Těšetice při převedení KPV s parametry Q1000. Na základě výsledku posouzení navrhnout nápravná opatření na zabezpečení vodního díla za povodní. Nápravná opatření budou spočívat v návrhu nových nebo doplňkových bezpečnostních prvků, zejména nového bezpečnostního přelivu v zavázaní hráze do rostlého terénu.The Diploma Thesis focuses on the assessment of the current state of VD Tesetice to convert KPV parameters Q1000. Based on this evaluation, the thesis proposes corrective actions on waterwork constructions for the purpose of protection of their functioning during floods. Proposed corrective actions consist of designing new or additional safety features, mainly security spillway in abutment terrain.

Arch bridge across the expressway

Cílem této diplomové práce je návrh obloukového mostu přes rychlostní komunikaci. Most tvoří trámová konstrukce mostovky o třech polích a ocelobetonový oblouk. Mostovka je na okrajích vetknutá do základů a uprostřed zachycena na visutých kabelech. Most je nesen kombinací předpínacích lan a visutých kabelů uchycených na ocelobetonovém oblouku. Visuté kabely jsou zešikmeny vzhledem k příčnému směru mostu a v podélném směru jsou ve směru oblouku. Model celé konstrukce byl zhotoven ve výpočtovém programu SCIA ENGINEER 2011. Návrh je dle příslušných platných norem.The objective of this theses is arch bridge design over the expressway. Bridge is consist of bridge deck, which has three pillars and composite arc. The Bridge deck is on the edges fixed into the foundations and in the middle adherent on overhead cables. The bridge is carried by combination of strands and aerial cables mounted on reinforced concrete arch. Overhead cables are slant due to the transverse direction of the bridge in the longitudinal direction is in the direction of the arc. Model of the construction was made in a calculated program SCIA ENGINEER 2011. The designe is in accordance with applicable standards.

Robots, their categories and appling in mechanical engineering company

Tato bakalářská práce uvádí základní informace o robotech, jejich druzích a využití ve strojírenském podniku, dále základní popis a vývoj tohoto rozvíjejícího se odvětví. První kapitola seznamuje se základním tříděním a rozdělením průmyslových robotů a manipulátorů (PRaM). Následující kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na základní rozdělení PRaM dle jejích vlastností a následného využití. Poté je uvedeno několik příkladů využití těchto strojů v průmyslové výrobě. Práce poukazuje na výhody začleňování těchto automatizačních ústrojí do strojního průmyslu.This bachelor work presents basic information about robots, their types and uses in engineering company, basic description and development of this booming industry. V současnosti je zapotřebí klást na kryptografická zařízení stále větší nároky kvůli narůstajícímu počtu zneužití. Z tohoto důvodu je nutné znát principy zabezpečení a jejich nedostatky. Tato práce se zabývá metodou lokalizace zajímavých bodů u proudové analýzy. Cílem práce je provést rozbor těchto metod a jejich následná implementace.Nowadays there are very high demands on security of cryptographic devices due to the increasing number of exploitation.
