Science Fiction in the Work of Friedrich Dürrenmatt

Neben seinen Theaterstücken ist Friedrich Dürrenmatt bekannt für seine Ausflüge in die Detektivgeschichte, bei denen der Autor mit den Grenzen des Genres spielte; dem Roman Das Versprechen gab er sogar den Untertitel Requiem auf den Kriminalroman. Weniger bekannt ist, dass er auch Texte publizierte, die von der Science Fiction inspiriert sind: das Hörspiel Das Unternehmen der Wega (1954), und zwei Erzählungen, "Der Winterkrieg in Tibet" (1981) und "Der Versuch" (posthum, 1992). Wie in seinem Werk überhaupt, bedient sich Dürrenmatt auch hier der Ironie und des Sarkasmus, aber nur im Hörspiel ist die Science Fiction selbst Ziel der Satire und impliziert eine Distanzierung vom Unterhaltungsgenre. In den Erzählungen dagegen werden die Gattung bzw. einige ihrer Eigenschaften gebraucht, um die vom Autor beabsichtigte Sozialkritik zu formulieren. In diesem Artikel wird diskutiert, wie die genannten Werke die Beziehung des Autors zur Science Fiction und zum Zukunftsroman spiegeln, der älteren deutschsprachigen Variante der Gattung, die bis zur Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts das 'nationale' Genre bildete.Besides his plays, Friedrich Dürrenmatt was known for his incursions in the detective novel, where he challenged the limits of the genre; one of his texts is even subtitled Requiem for the Detective Novel. Less known is the fact that he also published texts inspired by science fiction, such as the radio play Das Unternehmen der Wega (1954), and the narratives "Der Winterkrieg in Tibet" (1981) and "Der Versuch" (posthumous, 1992). As per usual in his work, Dürrenmatt makes large use of irony and sarcasm, but only the radio play satirizes the genre Science Fiction itself. The narrations, in contrast, make use of the typical characteristics of the genre in order to perform the social critic intended by the author. This paper will discuss how the cited works reflect the relation of the author to science fiction and the Zukunftsroman, the 'national' version of the genre in German speaking countries until the middle of the 20th century

Malignant melanoma with liver and spleen metastases: case report

CONTEXT: The diagnosis of primary melanoma is easily confirmed after histological analysis of the lesion, whereas it is rarely diagnosed when the patient even has distant metastases. DESIGN: Case report CASE REPORT: Malignant melanoma is responsible for about 1% of all deaths caused by cancer in the USA and only 3% of all malig-nant skin diseases. Malignant melanoma is a rare disease, although it corresponds to 65% of all deaths caused by skin cancer. The liver and spleen are rarely the first sites of melanoma metastases. This paper reports on the clinical picture of a patient with fatal malignant melanoma and hepatic and spleen metastases. As this was an un-usual presentation, the melanoma diagnosis could only be made after pathological analysis of the skin and hepatic lesions.CONTEXTO: O melanoma maligno é responsável por aproximadamente 1% de todas as mortes causadas por câncer nos EUA e apenas 3% de todas as doenças malignas cutâneas. Embora considerada uma patologia rara, representa 65% de todos os óbitos por câncer de pele. O fígado e o baço raramente são os primeiros sítios de metástases de melanoma. TIPO DE ESTUDO: Relato de caso. RELATO DE CASO: Este artigo relata o quadro de um paciente portador de melanoma maligno evoluindo para óbito com metástases hepática e esplênica. La clínica socio-jurídica en Derechos Humanos y migraciones como dispositivo para la formación profesional : el acompañamiento para el acceso a derechos y la incidencia pública

La presente ponencia se propone compartir experiencias de prácticas profesionales de trabajo social y de extensión universitaria a en la Clínica Socio-Jurídica en Derechos Humanos y Migraciones. La Clínica es un espacio de formación de futuras/os graduadas/os de ciencias sociales en el trabajo junto a personas migrantes y solicitantes de refugio desde la perspectiva de derechos humanos. Temática que adquiere una especial relevancia en los actuales contextos latinoamericanos y que es una vacante en los planes de estudio vigentes. Esta experiencia nace en 2016 con el apoyo de la UNCUYO a partir de proyectos de extensión, y se desarrolla desde la Asociación Ecuménica de Cuyo y Xumek junto a estudiantes, graduadas/os y referentas/es territoriales. Brinda asesoramiento y acompañamiento a personas migrantes para acceder a la regularización migratoria, además, frente a situaciones de discriminación y vulneración de derechos por su condición migratoria. Se realizan también acciones de promoción de derechos y sensibilización junto a instituciones educativas para abordar problemáticas vinculadas a la discriminación, el racismo y la xenofobia. Se entiende a la migración como un derecho humano fundamental y, por tanto, a los/as migrantes como sujetas/os de derecho inalienables, sin importar su condición migratoria. Si bien esto es reconocido por Ley Nacional de Migraciones 25.871, todavía existen una multiplicidad de prácticas y discursos discriminatorios y xenófobos que dan cuenta de la invisibilización y poca intervención estatal en cuanto a esta problemática. Desde la Clínica, integramos la Red Nacional de Clínicas del país, articulamos con diversas redes nacionales de migrantes y somos parte del Observatorio sobre Migraciones y Refugio coordinado por la Asociación Ecuménica de Cuyo y CAREF, constituyendo la incidencia en la política pública un eje de trabajo. Será objeto de esta ponencia abrir debates e interrogantes con relación a las posibilidades de articulación y alianza entre organizaciones sociales y la universidad, para aportar en la construcción de sociedades interculturales y respetuosas de las diversidades.Fil: Chiavetta, Valeria. Estudo da circulação hidrodinâmica e da dispersão de óleo na Lagoa dos Patos, Rio Grande do Sul

Curso de Graduação em Engenharia AmbientalInclui referênciasResumo : Os incidentes que ocorrem provenientes do derrame de óleo em ambientes marinhos, são considerados ameaças diretas e significativas ao ambiente costeiro. Neste contexto, os planos de contingência de regiões portuárias são ferramentas importantes para mitigar e prevenir este tipo de problema. Na região do estado do Rio Grande do Sul está localizado o porto de Rio Grande, nas proximidades do canal lagunar, que interliga a Lagoa dos Patos e o Oceano. Este estudo verificou a dispersão de óleo após um derrame acidental e pontual nas proximidades no canal lagunar da Lagoa dos Patos, utilizando o sistema de modelagem ambiental SisBaHiA®. Foram analisadas simulação de dispersão de óleo para uma situação hipotética, para um volume total de 800 m3 pelo período de 72h. Os resultados da simulação apontaram que o vento não apresenta influência significativa na dispersão do óleo ao longo do canal lagunar. Dessa forma, o maior contribuinte para a advecção do óleo é a combinação meteorológica e astronômica da região, determinante nos períodos de enchente e vazante
