    A decomposition theorem for compact groups with application to supercompactness

    We show that every compact connected group is the limit of a continuous inverse sequence, in the category of compact groups, where each successor bonding map is either an epimorphism with finite kernel or the projection from a product by a simple compact Lie group. As an application, we present a proof of an unpublished result of Charles Mills from 1978: every compact group is supercompact.Comment: 12 page

    Stationary Distribution and Eigenvalues for a de Bruijn Process

    We define a de Bruijn process with parameters n and L as a certain continuous-time Markov chain on the de Bruijn graph with words of length L over an n-letter alphabet as vertices. We determine explicitly its steady state distribution and its characteristic polynomial, which turns out to decompose into linear factors. In addition, we examine the stationary state of two specializations in detail. In the first one, the de Bruijn-Bernoulli process, this is a product measure. In the second one, the Skin-deep de Bruin process, the distribution has constant density but nontrivial correlation functions.     По результатам РФА и РСА построены изотермические разрезы квазитройных систем Sm2Х–Cu2Х–GeХ2, где X – S, Se, при 870 К. В системе с серой подтверджено существование шести тернарных соединений: Cu8GeS6, Cu4GeS4, Cu2GeS3, SmCuS2, Sm3Ge1,25S7, Sm4Ge3S12 и тетрарного Sm3CuGeS7. В системе с селеном подтверджено существование четырех тернарных соединений: Cu2GeSe3, Cu8GeSe6, SmCuSe2, Sm3Ge1,25Se7 и тетрарного Sm3CuGeSe7. Существование новых соединений не установлено. Известные в литературе соединения Sm2/3Cu2S2, Sm2GeSe5, Sm2Ge2Se7, Sm2Ge3Se9 не установлены. The isothermal sections of the quasiternary Sm2X3–Cu2X–GeX2 (X – S, Se) systems at 870 K has been constructed using the methods of X-Ray phase and structural analysеs. The existence of six ternary: Cu8GeS6, Cu4GeS4, Cu2GeS3, SmCuS2, Sm3Ge1,25S7, Sm4Ge3S12 and one quaternary Sm3CuGeS7 compounds has been confirmed in the sulfur containing system. The existence of four ternary: Cu2GeSe3, Cu8GeSe6, SmCuSe2, Sm3Ge1,25Se7 and one quaternary Sm3CuGeSe7 compounds has been confirmed in the selenium containing system. The existence of new compounds hasn’t been established. The Sm2/3Cu2S2, Sm2GeSe5, Sm2Ge2Se7, Sm2Ge3Se9 compounds known from the literature weren’t confirmed

    За результатами РФА та РСА побудовано ізотермічні перерізи квазіпотрійних систем Cu2S(Se)–La2S(Se)3– GeS(Se)2 при 870 К. У системі Cu2S–La2S3–GeS2 підтверджено існування семи тернарних і однієї тетрарної сполук. У системі Cu2Sе–La2Sе3–GeSе2 підтверджено існування чотирьох тернарних і однієї тетрарної сполук. Встановлено склад ще однієї тернарної сполуки. На основі бінарних Cu2S(Se), GeS(Se)2, La2S3, тернарних, тетрарних сполук існують тверді розчини незначної протяжності. Розчинність на основі La2Se3 становить 9 мол. % Cu2Se по квазібінарному перерізу Cu2Se–La2Se3.     Abstract. The relevance and advantages of hydrostatic supports in test and measuring equipment are shown. Structural and operational features are given when using hydrostatic supports as hydrostatic guides in vibration bars, vibration systems and measuring devices, ensuring minimum friction and smooth movement. The use of spherical hydrostatic bearings in ball joints allowing to create high-frequency pulse systems is shown. Examples of application of hydrostatic bearings in actuators, drives and spindle assemblies of test and measuring equipment are given
